    Thanks for sharing your adventure! I thoroughly enjoyed as it took me back to my Florida days doing the exact same thing 25-30 years ago! My brother and I had several islands we would hog hunt - we had some small areas of wild guava trees that were covered in hogs when the fruit was dropping- tons of rattlers too!

    I don’t often comment but had to on this one! That foraging for food the camp and especially the hog hunting! It doesn’t get any better. I’m always amazed at all the wildlife and hunting and fishing opportunities there is in Florida! My brother and our buddy usually make it to Okeechobee once in the winter and it’s awesome. No offense buddy, you killed a pig and you just took the backstrap to eat, what did you do with the rest of the meat, waste it.

    • @ItsAWildLife1
      @ItsAWildLife1  2 месяца назад +3

      I took the backstraps and tenderloins, which was all I could carry given the circumstances. Most other trappers I know that catch pigs just dump them. I don’t like waste but I am not too worried about the occasional waste of a wild pig. Crabs and fish need to eat too.

  • @Jane-xw9xx
    @Jane-xw9xx Месяц назад +4

    I was enjoying and respecting your video until you cut out the back straps and left the rest... Yes everything has to eat but respect the life you have taken !!! Native peoples use the whole animal . You could have eaten the ribs and smoked the legs to take home. If you didn't want them I'm sure a homeless shelter would have welcomed some smoked meat

    • @Austin554_
      @Austin554_ Месяц назад +5

      So…he should’ve overeaten, magically had the time to build a smoker, manage it and fish, and taken it home. My fellow human he had no way of keeping it good.
      I fear your standards for this man are far too high in this video. He didn’t eat all the hog, but other organisms will flourish from its sacrifice for days and days! There is no waste in this!
      He did not disrespect this animals loss, he consumed it. Others will do the same, and on top of that, it was left to return to the earth in the same area it was taken. That’s better than most animals EVER get.
