im a youth and young manhood man. joes head, red morning light, spiral staircase, happy alone, genius, cali waiting. and not to mention trani. they are the best songs kol have ever written.
your opinion highlights exactly whats great about the kings. You pick a favoutite and then you think "Oh no, what about this.....and this.....and this...." very few modern day bands have the range of classics like K_O_L
finally somebody with sense! i totally agree, i hate it when people go off bands just because others discover them but alas the public are full of fools. This was an awesome gig though had the time of my life hope they return this year
I keep returning to these Glastyo '08 youtube clips. they sound so majestic and strong. Caleb never sounded better. But I think their Coachella 2011 performance this past weekend runs a close 2nd.
saw them last nite at the Hollywood Bowl 7-12-10...was so hoping they would have added this to their set list just for that event... the standout song was a "new" version of Trani... loved it!! Standing room only the crowd was really into the music. I can die happy now!! saw the Kings!!!! but only after I get their new CD!!!!
@rosco86 the point is not that everyone likes them. its that the quality of the songs themselves have dropped in order to appeal to a larger audience. if the entire world love youth and young manhood, i'd still love it.
i was there :) before the new album come aswel, Crawl was and still is the best on it, and i think it holds up nicely with the songs on "because of the time". They blew alot of people away with this set that friday at Glasto, aaaaaaahhhhhhh Glastonbury :) :) :)
So she's on a mission / Chasin' the devil all around town / Fighting day and night / But it's only in her mind / She's so great she cannot fall no / But they're so mean they won't let Her hold on / And the only way out Is still to believe there's Love / I still believe that's Love ...
yeah i agree...my favourite albums are youth and aha because it really seems like four dudes put those together in a garage....simple but genius. Even though tracks on the new album like closer are fantastic..i regret the use of effects ' cause it loses the raw edge their earlier stuff had. But like i said I love it all.
YA I AGREE , some people think because of the times was der first album pisses me off to i love KOL they just put you in a good mood like im taken a liking to this song , favourite is arizona amazig song xxxx
this is my favorite concert of theirs. perfect lighting (not overdone as it is now) music sounds better, and calebs voice is better.. he kinda destroyed his voice in 09 when he was singin like a madman
love the original version of cali waiting more than this version, both are great though. i remember watching this on bbc, edith and whathisfacewere were talking and i could hear trani in the background. i was going mental 'cos i couldnt hear their greatest song because two idiots were talking over it.
i saw them at birmingham and they didnt play this. i like there new album and all but they should of played more old songs. and al the people around me only new the new album which pissed me off because i new all the words to every song. no offence to the people who only went to hear sex on fire but there old stuff is better but there new stuff is good. they should write more songs about cross dressin and killin people and fightin lol but im digin closer what a tune 1 of the best. peace and love
who gives a rats ass if they have gone mainstream, if you like a band you dont go off them just cause everyone likes them, that mate is a bit pretencious just like the band if they have gone mainstream or not! x
i love how theyve managed to transfer this song to be a massive stadium sized anthem, without compromising the kinda garage rock roots of it
im a youth and young manhood man.

when the crowd sings along... I close my eyes slightly lose it
Cuántos recuerdos, la música es la verdadera máquina del tiempo.
awesome performace. his voice has really improved live. love this song
best band ever
was lucky enough to get to support them at the SECC in Glasgow in Aug 05 with my old band, good times!
WOW they were so good at glasto!! I was backstage for them and it was such amazing atmosphere and really weird being able to see what they see.
Una gran canción que me trae muy buenos momentos.
nathan and calebs voices sound amazing together! love it too on 'spiral staircase'
THEY R AMAZING
Little Mona Lisa layin by my side...........
What a fxxkin tune
Probably my favorite song next to Frontier City
that is true! change my mind on my favorite every week! lol
they were so so SO good....
what?? trunk is an amazing song. i love that song so much.
your opinion highlights exactly whats great about the kings. You pick a favoutite and then you think "Oh no, what about this.....and this.....and this...." very few modern day bands have the range of classics like K_O_L
this needs to be on the setlist
finally somebody with sense! i totally agree, i hate it when people go off bands just because others discover them but alas the public are full of fools. This was an awesome gig though had the time of my life hope they return this year

thats what makes them so good. on a regular album you like 3 or 4 songs. on a kings album you like every song. only one i don't like is trunk
saw them last nite at the Hollywood Bowl 7-12-10...was so hoping they would have added this to their set list just for that event... the standout song was a "new" version of Trani... loved it!! one of their best concert
i miss when they were not fancy, i mean they are the same great musicians they use to look so old school, i used to love that :(
@rosco86 the point is not that everyone likes them. its that the quality of the songs themselves have dropped in order to appeal to a larger audience. if the entire world love youth and young manhood, i'd still love it.
they should release a DVD of this set... its glasto and they rocked it man!!

i listen to KOL since 2005 and i still prefer the first and seconds albums!!!!!
the best ever!
same dood
glastonbury, does say in the video title
I need to find the DVD of this. If one. Glasto '08. Really hope it's in DVD.
I saw em in Birmingham & they didn't play it, ruined the gig for me. Saying that, it was still amazing
This is way better than the Live in O2.
TUNE!
Damn. There used to be a good quality Glastonbury set. What happened to it? Arizona in this one was good too.
this is my favorite concert of theirs. perfect lighting (not overdone as it is now) music sounds better, and calebs voice is better.. he kinda destroyed his voice in 09 when he was singin like a madman
It's true!!! My favorite was "Fans", but I can't have just one favorite!!! I'm mad about "California waiting" and "Sex on fire", too...
They never play this song live any more =(
@marktrfc So True.
i prefer when they play this faster and he sings with a rougher edge to his voice.
@rosco86 i understand what you mean but their new stuff doesn't even begin to compare to the stuff off their first two albums
i think this is a bit slow (still good) I just think they played it better before.
Youth and Young Manhood FOREVER!!!!
Compare this 2 the version on T in the park 2004
I can't believe I went to see Fatboy Slim instead of this.
I got them mixed up with Kings of Convenience.
Wasn't such an avid fan at the time.
yeah mate, I was just jokin... it sucks when you're under 18 and your parents tell you what to do... I used to suffer with this as well
@kramonisac what do u mean?
@jjpatel6 really? but why?
He

no se oye ni madres bbc
sound is great, but much better energy on the album version. nathan seems lazy here
who gives a rats ass if they have gone mainstream, if you like a band you dont go off them just cause everyone likes them, that mate is a bit pretencious just like the band if they have gone mainstream or not! x
no, you're just a child, you shouldn't go to gigs... study and leave this to the grown ups, mate...
