I'm alone at work, 3rd shift at my hotel at 4am. It was playing in the background while I filled out financial report spreadsheets, when I felt myself crying. It was only then I tuned in to hear what the lyrics were. I can't ever remember a time I had felt the emotion of a song before understanding the meaning of what was being said. Yazmin Lacey, thank you. For singing what so many people have no words to speak when this feeling is so deep that we rarely see it for what it is. The bittersweet feeling of Loneliness, and the wisdom to see the freedom in owning it and bringing it into the light in us.
