American living in Brazil here. Yes, I agree with you, from what I have noticed. But I am glad to live in São Paulo, where there are SESC cultural centers. I have seen some amazing artists there, for a low ticket price (Caetano Veloso, Elza Soares, Thiago Pethit). I wish Brazilian artists were promoted more abroad.

i am such a huge fan of Liniker never thought i was going to live to see her sing, she has so much energy, seeing her on stage was one of my favorite moments, everyone was singing together all of her songs, me and my friends were so happy and emotional, I'll never forget that day

I can’t put my finger on why I feel so connected to this song and a few others from these wonderful people.
I only speak English, I don’t, unfortunately, understand any other language but I wish I could sing this in its native language. The way she moved, the way her arms move with the music really brings a tear to my eye.
I'm Brazilian, raised Catholic and I feel the same way. Even more when I read the comment from this guy not only translating for English but explaining the connection of the lyrics to the Orixá Nanã. I don't know the religion well enough but it's a Goddess, with a connection to care and motherhood it seems. I was honestly fully covered in shivers while I read him talking briefly about this Orixá. And you know in this African Brazilian religion people have a sort of personal Orixá you know? So maybe all these people connected to the song could have this connection to Nanã and not even know about it. I don't know but I always feel so safe listening to this I kinda like this little theory.

@Elle Durden I'm not trying to "change" or deny the existence of trans people. But you shouldn't also try to change or deny the fact that this person is by every biological marker a male. And that's ok. If I met them I would call them she / her out of respect. But that doesn't change facts and objective correctness - that's my only objection and it's towards you, not the person in the video. I also correct people who incorrectly use their / there - let me live! ;)
Dee See do you think we don’t know her body is a male one? you should know that our identity is in our brain, not our genitalia. what we think and how we see ourselves is way more important than we have down there. genders are a social construct and if she sees herself as a woman, even her body and her penis are female. cause that’s what she is.
João Vitor lol no, gender is not a social construct but i know that’s what they’re selling on tumblr and in feminist studies. A penis is not and cannot be female and biological reality cannot be changed by thoughts or politeness. Again - if this person wanted to be called a she / her I would but I will not accept this is a woman in any real sense. And that’s ok - they can say they are a woman, and so can you - I disagree and biology agrees with me. Good luck :)
