Using references isnt tracing. With that logic I trace a lot of the things I draw in my notebooks and stuff since I use references from pintrest to try and get the measurements and curves and stuff right 😅
I remember getting told when I was younger that using references (both real life ones AND drawn ones) was just as bad as tracing. It got to my head and made me stop using references for a long time which stunted my growth as an artist, I use references now and have definitely improved. I highly recommend using references, it doesn’t count as tracing and helps artists grow, this goes for everyone btw, especially if you are in a similar mindset that I used to have :)
The bad thing is that my friend references my art and now they look the same it’s also very mean because I told her that she should stop because I don’t like her referencing my art now or artstyles look the same and everyone is telling me too stop copying my friend
@@Yuzuki_zu for some reason I only now got this notification three weeks later, I apologize for the late response. But then yes that’s a problem, there’s a difference between harmless referencing and doing it to the point where you make the artist you’re referencing uncomfortable. Art style theft in itself isn’t real since a LOT of people can have similar art styles, but if they are doing it on purpose knowing that it makes you uncomfortable they aren’t being a good friend. I’m sorry you have to deal with that
There's a major difference between tracing and referencing/inspired. Referencing/inspired poses, sceneries, aesthetics, or even clothes is okay plus it helps artists' creative brains flowing. With proper credit, I don't see what's the problem with reference/inspiration.
This is like the worst thing to happen to any artist and that is accused of tracing a reference! But, i believe Mika! She would never trace as she's already a talented artist💜🤍🖤 Btw, Love the video Mika🖤🤍💜🤭🍃
For some reason when you trace, it looks jittery if you don’t smooth it out. But still you can tell if it’s traced or drawn from reference photos. I actually trace over human poses or just use them for references, but NEVER in my life would trace someone else’s art because at the end of the day, you’re in the wrong for stealing art even without noticing or noticing. So EVERYONE DONT TRACE GUYS ITS BAD JUST OR DONT IDC 😤✨✌️
It’s disappointed how a lot of people look through even the smallestttt thing from a gachatuber (mostly the famous one) to make other people hate them and creating dramas.
A lot of people use references for art even me and for ppl who dont understand references you put them next to your drawing to see how the body is built to understand that pose and use it in art without taking the entire sketch itself. It is not tracing it’s just simply using a photo to use as a type of guide to what your drawing!
All you were doing was just looking at an example, that has nothing to do with tracing. Some people just don’t understand the concept of ‘using’ and ‘viewing’. You did a wonderful job, Mika. ❤ (loved the talking Tom memory eraser thing btw lol.)
As someone who isn't that good yet at drawing anatomy and poses, using pose references is a savior. What better way to learn than to use a reference for it? I also use clothes references cuz i have bad fashion sense. Literally all i can think of is t-shirt and jeans😬. After i use reference, i can think better of clothing combination myself
This is so true like what we can’t use references anymore cause it looks like we are tracer anyway you are the best 😊love your videos and hope that you hit 2 million subscribers ❤
Fr though like it's so annoying when people are like "Oh YoU tRaCeD/cOpIeD tHiS cUs YoU uSeD a ReFeReNcE" LIKE NO! Millions of great artists/editors use references and it's completely fine!
You could also just tell from the drawing so easily too. Cause if Mika traced it then the arms would be too big for the oc. Though when it comes to tracers on procreate, they can use the private photo option so the picture won’t show up in their Timelapse.
references doesnt equal as tracing, my friends use references and they do in their style. shows ppl are criticizing for no reason anyway mika keep going
Some ppl rlly don't know what the difference between reference and tracing 💀 idk why but it feels so illegal to be this early, keep up the good content though !:-D🩷
I swear haters, everytime they see something that looks close to an image, even though the creator DID NOT trace it they just used a reference, they start saying that the creator traced, and for some reason people believe the hater. Cinnamon roll, she made a post that she used a reference, and someone traced her, and the tracer said it was their work, and said Cinna traced them, and people started hating on Cinna. What has the gacha community come to💀💀
Hey Mika! I am a big fan. I idolise you cpukd you make a guide for new people in gacha community like how to solve personla drama ,tracing copying, refrences difference etc. I dont know who else to ask?
I hate the people ranting about people who are good at drawing and say "tracer" because 1 it's not even the same art style and you can tell and 2 reference is so common
Anybody who says somebody's art is traced when they just used a reference and/or showed proof is clearly not an artist and therefore their opinion doesn't matter. Period.
Just so people know. Tracing is drawing over an image. Referencing is redrawing something (or making it in gacha) in your own style. Heavy referencing is copying the entire character, a lot if artists are against this.
People don't know the difference between reference and tracing, they think that making a reference is the same thing as copying art, so I ask you, since when? These people are clueless and ignorant...
the whole thing of "people who use references are cheating"werid is so odd to me, I had never heard about it till a few years ago because of the internet
That's right! But when u guys use the ref, don't forget to look at the details bc somes is adoptable(?) or ppl thief it without credit. If u use the wrong ref, you guys will get lots of trouble!! (Super bad English)
I recommend using reference because it makes the drawing or the edit better 🤭💯
I'll try
Ur drawing is so beautiful ✨🌟
i'll try too!
Very talented
I'll try thinks mika❤💖💖💓💓
I hate when people think artists trace even though they only use it for reference 💀
Omg frfr

Fr the artists themself already say is just a reference in the description or where, yet people be like : oH yOu TrAcEd tHe ArT

For real
Using references isnt tracing. With that logic I trace a lot of the things I draw in my notebooks and stuff since I use references from pintrest to try and get the measurements and curves and stuff right 😅
same lol. i guess i trace a lot of animals
and i guess i trace a lot of my own characters when i draw them
wait, that doesn’t count as tracing since they’re my characters-

Some People don't even see anyone as talented these days... everything is "traced" 😑

Mika just roasted every false trace accusation, in the spam of a min😂

This is why they always say's artist traced when they just used a base or reference and say "you trace it" 😞😞😞
I don’t really use refs for poses, only character refs, But I still agree that just because artists use refs doesn’t mean that they trace.
