I never knew about Radstadt!!! Thank you so much and greetings from Salzburg....! I know Gloria (Gigi) very well.... she always says, being 3-4 years older than the Beatles, she was never really interested in Paul or the boys. They felt like kids from her "serious" Miss Austria point of view... but she could speak English fluently, so her dad gave her the translator job.
I was about to say I was disappointed you didn't fall down backwards in the snow, then it came as a surprise at the end! You are too cool for words, Andrew!
I absolutely loved this! Help! Is my favorite song, album, and MOVIE! I would love to see you travel to Nassau and do the Bahama scenes next! Thanks so much for this Christmas miracle!

What a blast Andrew! Well done! Well filmed!Well informed and bloody well cold!! Thanks for braving the elements to give us a grand peek to an important part of music history. Well done again!
Andrew that was fascinating!! It's so cool that the hotel still honours the Beatles' visit from such a long time ago. Thanks for showing us this location 😊
Having a simply wonderful Christmas Day here in Philadelphia USA and watching this brilliant video just made it even better!!! Thank you for going to all that trouble Andrew. The photos of John and Paul jamming until 2am in the hotel bar were mind-blowing!! I'd never seen those photos or heard that story. I'd love to see an interview with anyone who was really there that night!! Must have been incredible. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year mate. You are by far the best host on all of RUclips. 100% genuine......100% positive. You are a diamond. Happy Krimble, Tommy
This video was damn good. You should do more videos like this visiting locations and telling beatles stories. I really enjoyed this!!! Keep the good work. Greets and hugs from Argentina.
When you think you know and seen just about everything on the Beatles you have managed to give us completely new info and pictures which I have never seen before, again well done.
Great video showing us a site rarely seen on RUclips. I’m glad they celebrate their connection to Beatles history. Smart move on their part. Also refreshing to see how small Paul’s room was. Today a celebrity of that status would be given a massive suite with every modern luxury. On a different note, you did a great job with your on-location recording. It’s gotta be a big shift from your studio setup where you can better control the lighting. Hope to see more on-location videos in the future! Bahamas next? 🙂
For militar duty they sent me from Vorarlberg to Salzburg (~4h drive), there I met a girl who also was a Bealtes fan. We kicked it off and after a couple of weeks decided to travel to Obertauern on a weekend. When I looked into the filming locations we could visit I found that you could book the rooms the Beatles stayed in. We agreed on trying to book a room and managed to get number 218, John's room for a night. The food at the Edelweiss and Hotel Post was really good. It was a really cool experience!
Cool video! I never realized those pics of a sweaty John and Paul onstage were from this trip! Cool to know, have to add that date to my time machine performance wish list!
Thanks Andrew.I'm a lifelong Beatles fan and a skier ,so made a 1 week trip to Obertauern in 2013.Pleasantly surprised at the effort the town and Tourist Office had made to celebrate The Beatles. I also remember the full Help LP being blasted out across the slopes
Absolutley delightful. Loved this as you provided so much information that was new to me and I'd love to stay in the John Lennon room if I ever got the chance. Great work and Merry Christmas to you and all my fellow Beatles fanatics xxx
Another beautifully produced and hugely informative video Andrew. Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication …and happy new year! All the best, Rob
Great video Andrew. Hope you still wore your trademark flat cap under your winter hat. Fascinated with John and Paul’s 2 hour jamming session. I wasn’t aware they did any sessions in public. I wonder if they did any anywhere else in public.
When me and my wife went to the Bahamas, we stayed at Sandals Royal Bahamian on which stand the villas that The Beatles stayed in. We stayed in the one next door to the one the boys purportedly stayed in. On the private island, many of the small outcroppings can still be seen where they filmed “Another Girl.”
I' ve been to Austria about "1000," times, all their " mountain," resorts are no suprise to me,they all look a like, this one is famous only because of Beatles beeing there, when they could' ve been every where too. Nice video, any way.
Merry Christmas, Andrew. Nice touch starting off the video with a direct quote from the movie, a cold place, indeed; You might enjoy visiting the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee if you're ever out that way.
Outstanding. Your camera shots and editing were fabulous. I hope you earned something from The Austrian tourism bureau, because my bucket list is now longer.
Amazing and thoroughly enjoyable video! Thank you for your hard work putting it together. So many photos I’ve never seen and the locations were very nice to see.
Thanks so much for a great video! I have never seen it displayed or described that way before! Really cool 😎 I will always remember these facts every time I watch 'Help!' or see photos from it. Great job (you lucky bugger!) 😉😄
Delightful!! I like the memorial to the 50th anniversary of the filming, on the slopes. As a kid, I always wanted one of those toboggans like that. I love the local pub shots that I've seen that were taken there and I'm glad you posted a couple of those. In spite of it's flaws, it's my favorite Beatles' film. Thanks.
Very entertaining and enjoyable. Thank you for showing us these locations a lot of us wish we could see. Also enjoyed your snow angel in front of the Help logo. You do great work Andrew! Merry Christmas!

Great fun to watch this kind of video this Christmas. I do recall you having announced it some time ago, in another video. Glad that you were ultimately able to document their 1965 journey to Obertauern! Happy Christmas! Andrew 🎄
Such a fascinating video. It's so interesting to hear about the places The Beatles went to and what they got up to. I find it amazing that they're so iconic that it's well documented what they got up to down to the date and time. Hope to see more videos like this one! Merry Christmas!
How about a couple of videos dealing with the short lived 4 Track cartridges by The Beatles and the Australian 25th Anniversary Beatles' Singles Collection? I've been watching your videos for several years now and you are the best, Andrew! Keep up the excellent work!
Great video! I am actually going to stay at the President Hotel at Russel Square where The Beatles stayed at in 1963 during my London trip in June. I don’t know if I’ll be able to stay at any of the rooms they stayed in but who knows.
You cleared up something for me that I have been wondering about for awhile. The picture of John and Paul on stage and John has a White Fender Jazzmaster. I had always wondered how that fit in. It was a borrowed instrument although plenty of people think John owned it. If that guitar could be found now it would fetch a pretty penny. This is a great episode. Love it...
Good episode! I was surprised by the strong focus of the hotel on the Beatles' stay there over half a century ago. It clarified things when you said the hotel is run by the family of one of the Beatles stand-ins for the skiing scenes. I can understand why they would want their hour of glory to be remembered. I can also understand catering to Beatles tourists, but I wonder how many of them actually make it there.
Amazing video Andrew. As I said in the past, your videos have always something special. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed it. All the best to you and your family
Fun and informative, thanks! Growing up in Wyoming, there are only two seasons, hot and cold. The reason I left it as soon as I could. Although Austria is beautiful, it's the cold that reminds me to think of going elsewhere.🥶

Great video, must have been fun to be there. Sadly I live in the US do the travel cost would be expensive. Also I bought “in the Hollie’s style” from your store sounds amazing. Happy holidays
I really hope they unearth the missing deleted scenes one day. There's some cool moments that didn't make the cut, including a scene with comedy legend Frankie Howerd and the soon to be Miss Brahms from Are You Being Served, Wendy Richard. They did their best to recreate them on the deluxe Criterion laserdisc using pages from the script and on set photos, but I'd love to actually see these scenes. With the DVD release, listed on the back is "a missing scene" which I remember thinking would mean that they'd found it and were going to present it for the first time, however it was just a short documentary about a scene we still haven't had a chance to see. I think Help is the best movie they made. A Hard Day's Night is is a great rock'n'roll movies, but Help is a great movie in general. It's also interesting to note that during that sled scene, only Ringo used a stunt double. George actually seems to have done quite a few of his own stunts (outside of the skiing), although all 4 did have stunt doubles.
Another great video from Andrew. So cool .. it's a wonderful Magical Mystery Tour through the Austrian (not Swiss!) Alps with the Fabs. Learned a lot. Thank you ! ps I think Mal Evans was there too and I was wondering where that scene was filmed where he goes for a swim through a hole in the ice ?
