@@TudorSmith I've been in Studio 2 Tudor... Saturday 19th March 2005 Abbey Road Film Festival, got a photo of the piano Paul played on Lady Madonna that's still there (owned by EMI) 😁
@@Zapple7 That's amazing. I was speaking with my son today (He runs his own mastering company) and he said "Dad, you should do a video about Abbey Road...I've got some connections, I could get you in there". So, watch this space....something might come of that!
@@TudorSmith Can't wait, your vids are totally from a fan based perspective and, along with the great commentary, that's why they're so good, we feel like we're really along for the ride.. also, at Abbey Road Studios I think some alterations have been made to the inside of the studio since their days there (sound baffles on the walls I'm sure have been changed for modern ones since I was there, no photos were allowed (!)) but the parka flooring is still there (and the staircase of course) so be interesting to see how much you'll be able to film.. probably will need those contacts to do it, maybe just settle for the roof where John nearly took his first flight 🦅 from during a nocturnal break in Pepper, as I've never seen a photo from up there before..
Knole Park is behind the pinewoods of my back garden. I've actually done this walk this morning, all around The Birdhouse looking off into the distance from all angles. Sevenoaks Highstreet is a NIGHTMARE Every Single Day with Traffic. The pronunciation ( Not the Spelling ) is Braystead if that helps
Great stuff Mark, you’re lucky to have that walk on your doorstep. I’d love to get there early morning to take pictures of the deer. Thanks for the tip on pronunciation 👍
Yes i am indeed lucky to live where i do & being a Massive Beatles Fan it makes it even better. I'm from Shropshire & in the late 90's early 2000's 3 weekends out of 4 i was in Mathew Street Liverpool i was there doing Beatles stuff with my friend Eddie Porter who was The Magical Mystery Tour Beatles Guide. I sang in The Grapes on a Saturday night & i played The Cavern 6 times. This morning walking out of Knole i actually took photos of the Deer
Sounds like a legend in your own lunchtime 🤣 Hey is there a way to enter Knoll park in the morning without having to go in via the National Trust enterance? I’d always assumed you had to book entry with NT to get in!
I’m so glad that you found it I was hoping that you would do another video my friend! I need to get to England someday to see all of these Beatles sights! Thank you very much
@@TudorSmith thank you very much my friend! Definitely! Please check your messages on Instagram I sent you a Beatles ukulele video I did I was wondering if you’d seen it🙏

Well done, Tudor! It must have been a huge relief to have finally found the stump where the tree once stood! I guess it was kind of like looking for a needle in a haystack! I loved the video!!! 👍
Thank you Perry Yes, after making my first video and convincing myself (if no one else) that I'd found the tree, I was glad I made the second trip and now whenever I make a trip to Knole Park I'll always start at the stump and just stare in awe :-)

Hi Tudor We went last year to knole park just to visit the location for the promo for strawberry fields and penny lane don't think some golfers were impressed lol shame the tree blew down in the storm.of 1987 even the national trust members didn't that the beatles filmed there also john bought a poster from a shop in Sevenoaks that was the inspiration for the benefit of Mr kite
@@TudorSmith I'm 43 my music collection goes way back to the 50s 60s best music ever recorded my 60s period was cool brittania of the 90s when british bands for the brief period discovered rock n roll like oasis
The truth is, that since filming took place 54 years ago, Beatle fans have been visiting and (unlike you) took a piece of it away.....and that's where we are today!
I have no idea for the other 2 yellow things lol. Thanks for making part 2 and btw nice touch putting the tree on there :) Love the touring around town. Pls do more touring
Ok, convinced. But the other tree looked very similar with great resemblance to the real location . Thumbs up once more 👍👍😊😊 I’m from 61. Remember almost all of their hits when they came out. So I know the feeling 😊
Tudor, what a pity you haven't shown what's left of the tree with a closer shot, but it gives me the feeling that it was cut at its base (someone probably intending to take it?) greetings from Argentina. *sorry for my English use the google translator*.
It’d be nice to see a new tree growing tall and strong in place of the original someday… (once the stump has naturally disappeared on its own of course)
The story goes, that a kind of hurricane in this area in 1987 mostly felled the tree. Knole Park is said, to have lost around 70% of its trees. I'm not aware, that Beatles fans visited this place with this frequency, like other "pilgrimage sites" (Penny Lane, Abbey Road zebra crossing etc.) and cut the tree into souvenirs. It's a nice idea, to go to the Bahamas, to see the Beatles' filming locations ... but, someone else did that, turning almost every stone the Beatles stood on. The video can certainly still be found on youtube. It might be interesting, to reconstruct the route of the film "Magical Mystery Tour" and visit the locations. E.g. a fish & chip shop, that the Beatles and the crew went to and the place, where they shot the clip for "I am the walrus" etc.
Wow - that’s food for thought. Follow the route the bus took! I was a milkman in 1987 when that storm hit. I was only one of 4 milk floats that got out of the depot before the police turned up and told the rest not to go out. The amount of fallen trees on my route - it was carnage. A lot of open spaces in Kent lost a lot of trees that night!
Having watched your newer video, and now looking back at this one, I have to say, that the stump you're standing on is nowhere near large enough when compared to size of the tree in the SFF video.
Ha, I see myself at 17:35 in the background about to be told by yourself that this is indeed the tree, I'd just been round to all the other ones people said were correct online and nothing lined up for me, definitely agree that this is it, nice to meet you ✌️
Ah Sam, it was you! I'd left my audio recording but had turned off my video, otherwise I'd have interviewed you (I like doing that in my videos). It was nice meeting you - a fellow hunter of relics from a different age!

Very well done Tudor. Who would have imagined looking for a tree could be so entertaining. I wonder if the tree John and Yoko are sitting under on the cover of The Plastic Ono Band album is still there?
I wonder. Trees have a habit of hanging on eh?
The tree from the cover of pob was taken down decades ago
'Pends...f u can lokyte it.
Mybe you moyt foynd the stowmp..
Cheerio!
GREAT!!!!..thank You from Beatle fan in...Slovenija. XXX ....We want MORE!!! Pss. The Bahamas location are alredy done..
Yes I’m planning more 👍 but not the Bahamas 🤣
I get the horn bit you did.
What great interesting finds! It’s a bit surreal seeing them as they are today. Would love to see other beatles locations if you ever get the chance
I’ll have to get my thinking cap on and find other locations
Great work sir: great video, great commentary, great shades.
Thank you. The sunnies were a requirement - one of those rare days we get sunshine in autumn in Kent 👍
Tudor Smith Forever! Good detective work. Bet there's a few spliff roaches on the ground there somewhere.
... The roches.. 🤭🤭🤭
Hello from Australia, Great video. I never made it to Knole park even though my English wife is from Kent, did manage to go liverpool and did the Magical Mystery Tour bus, and traveled to London and did th Abbey Road crossing. Yellow things ay yellow submarine, yellow matter custard, cellophane flowers of yellow and green, yellow lorry slow nowhere to go. Ooh thats 4.
Yeah I hadn’t considered Lucy in the Sky but you nailed the other two. Submarine is of course a given! I’d love to get into the studio at Abbey Road though 👍
Yellow Lorry from You never give me your money
@@TudorSmith I've been in Studio 2 Tudor... Saturday 19th March 2005 Abbey Road Film Festival, got a photo of the piano Paul played on Lady Madonna that's still there (owned by EMI) 😁
@@Zapple7 That's amazing. I was speaking with my son today (He runs his own mastering company) and he said "Dad, you should do a video about Abbey Road...I've got some connections, I could get you in there". So, watch this space....something might come of that!
@@TudorSmith
Can't wait, your vids are totally from a fan based perspective and, along with the great commentary, that's why they're so good, we feel like we're really along for the ride..
also, at Abbey Road Studios
I think some alterations have been made to the inside of the studio since their days there (sound baffles on the walls I'm sure have been changed for modern ones since I was there, no photos were allowed (!)) but the parka flooring is still there (and the staircase of course)
so be interesting to see how much you'll be able to film.. probably will need those contacts to do it, maybe just settle for the roof where John nearly took his first flight 🦅 from during a nocturnal break in Pepper, as I've never seen a photo from up there before..
BTW there is Now a Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite Circus Flyer in the window of Leverets in Sevenoaks
Sounds like a legend in your own lunchtime 🤣
Hey is there a way to enter Knoll park in the morning without having to go in via the National Trust enterance? I’d always assumed you had to book entry with NT to get in!
I’m so glad that you found it I was hoping that you would do another video my friend! I need to get to England someday to see all of these Beatles sights! Thank you very much
Ha you’d need a month of Sundays driving around locating everything. If it happens for you, make sure to make a hit list so as not to miss anything!
@@TudorSmith thank you very much my friend! Definitely! Please check your messages on Instagram I sent you a Beatles ukulele video I did I was wondering if you’d seen it🙏
@@ToddLorencmusic Cool I'll check it out
Job well done! Glad you found where the tree once stood. As you said, hopefully people won’t go there and chip away at it, though I’m somewhat surprised it hasn’t rotted any more than it has.
It did look like it was defying nature!
Well done, Tudor!
It must have been a huge relief to have finally found the stump where the tree once stood!
I guess it was kind of like looking for a needle in a haystack!
I loved the video!!! 👍
Thank you Perry
Yes, after making my first video and convincing myself (if no one else) that I'd found the tree, I was glad I made the second trip and now whenever I make a trip to Knole Park I'll always start at the stump and just stare in awe :-)
Great video. Spot on this time. I shall be popping back myself. I think my photo might be at the wrong tree!
I’d like to think so but opinion seems divided! 😊
@@TudorSmith No, I really think you got it this time......it fits with The Beatles London book pics too. As far as I'm concerned that's the stump! Lol.
@@TudorSmith Now we know the location I was thinking of taking my acoustic guitar down and Performing Strawberry Fields Forever by the tree. Seems like a fitting tribute!
We should do it’s together - a video for both of our channels
@@TudorSmith Sounds good.....my channel is a bit patchy.....I have a video of Dagenham in 1962/63 that my Dad shot on Standard 8 cine film.....and a few of me singing/playing solo and some band video.....it's not quite up to your professional standards! Lol
Great video, well done. It looks a beautiful place that Knole Park.
Yellow Submarine
I am The Walrus (yellow matter custard)
Lucy In The Sky (cellophane flowers of yellow and green)
I can see why the production team chose it for the filming...unless of course it was totally by accident. You got two songs right. I hadn't considered LSD but since it has a yellow reference then I'll give you 2½ out of 3 :-)
@@TudorSmith ..lol. Shame that there is so much traffic in that lovely place
Hi Tudor
We went last year to knole park just to visit the location for the promo for strawberry fields and penny lane don't think some golfers were impressed lol shame the tree blew down in the storm.of 1987 even the national trust members didn't that the beatles filmed there also john bought a poster from a shop in Sevenoaks that was the inspiration for the benefit of Mr kite
Yeah shame about the tree. I’d think the current “batch” of NT staff might be too young to know the more “recent” history of the place 😊
Ah that would explain the trees' abscene today then :-)
I read somewhere that the tree in the video was destroyed in a storm many years ago.
I have no idea for the other 2 yellow things lol. Thanks for making part 2 and btw nice touch putting the tree on there :) Love the touring around town. Pls do more touring
Thank you! 😊 A new "london Tour" will be uploaded today. So many things to see I'm having to make a Part 1 & a Part 2!
Ok, convinced. But the other tree looked very similar with great resemblance to the real location . Thumbs up once more 👍👍😊😊 I’m from 61. Remember almost all of their hits when they came out. So I know the feeling 😊
Nice recreation of the tree !
Yeah I had to revisualise it myself to make sure (and convince myself the other tree was not the one)!
Tudor, what a pity you haven't shown what's left of the tree with a closer shot, but it gives me the feeling that it was cut at its base (someone probably intending to take it?) greetings from Argentina. *sorry for my English use the google translator*.
🤣
It’d be nice to see a new tree growing tall and strong in place of the original someday… (once the stump has naturally disappeared on its own of course)
That would be something. Perhaps we could start a petition 👍
Increíble
@@TudorSmith 😪😪😪😲.. Oh, no
@@TudorSmith 😲😲
Having watched your newer video, and now looking back at this one, I have to say, that the stump you're standing on is nowhere near large enough when compared to size of the tree in the SFF video.
Yep that tree is still up for debate I’m sure 👍
Pink, brown, yellow, orange, and blue, I love you - All together now; Yellow matter custard; Yellow Submarine
The Beatles liked colours didn't they? :-)
this is a very interesting video, you are an amazing detective. I am a new subscriber
Thank you so much, and thanks for subscribing. It means a lot 🙏
Yellow sub, 'yellow matter custard dripping from a dead dogs eye', yellow and green towering over your head
That’s three 👍
Ha, I see myself at 17:35 in the background about to be told by yourself that this is indeed the tree, I'd just been round to all the other ones people said were correct online and nothing lined up for me, definitely agree that this is it, nice to meet you ✌️
Ah Sam, it was you! I'd left my audio recording but had turned off my video, otherwise I'd have interviewed you (I like doing that in my videos). It was nice meeting you - a fellow hunter of relics from a different age!
@@TudorSmith I managed to find the table location just after with your directions too, good man!
Hi Tudor. I've just found this new film of yours. Thank you for the mention. By coincidence, I was at Knole Park yesterday and I'm just about to upload the short film I did. I wanted to show you the stump and I gave you a mention but I'm glad you've already found it for yourself. I'm just about to upload it anyway. BTW, regarding the 'yellow' element. Yellow Submarine, You Never Give me your Money (Yellow lorry slow,) Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (Cellophane flowers of yellow and green towering over your head). Cheers buddy. Stay safe.
Thanks Vince. I’ll check out your video and hopefully my findings match yours lol
Cellophane flowers of YELLOW and green... and YELLOW matter custard!
