    In order to get the FIM sticker, you would have to go with the Race R Pro GP FIM - it's available in Europe at least - and it has a full carbon shell with close to 1430gr. It is indeed a great helmet though even if it's not the FIM version. Inner lining is also one of the best you'll get in Racing Helmets.

    I picked up the FIM version online from a site in Europe roughly 6 months ago for about $650. I’ve used it for street use for both commuting and long weekend rides logging at least 5,000 miles, and I’ll say it’s probably the most street-able track helmet available.
    Great fogging protection on colder rainy days. Great airflow on hot days. At least as quiet as my old RF-1200, though I went 100% earplugs a few years ago. Fits my Cardo unit just fine. It’s definitely snug, but I was a medium in Shoei and got a medium for the Shark, and I think it’s fine. I like a snug fit, though I do feel it in my cheeks getting sore after a 4 to 5 hour ride.
    I used its predecessor, the Race-R Pro on a 2-week trip in the same sizing, and it worked just fine for me, including on some off road sections on my ADV bike. Only reason I replaced that Race-R Pro (for the GP FIM) was because I took a decent donk to the head off road and knew I had compromised EPS foam’s protection from a future impact. That said, the Race-R Pro handled the impact perfectly. Slight stars, but no headache or concussion signs, letting me finish the day’s ride with zero concerns.
    It’s your head, so treat it right!

    • @itsmeericb
      @itsmeericb  Год назад +1

      Thanks! It's a very tight fit. I measure size small and that is what I wear in this helmet. I typically size down and wear an extra small in all of my helmets. So I would say it's true to size.

    Thank you for such a detailed review. I ride a MT-10 and was looking for a more aerodynamic helmet. I measure at around 60.5cm would a large or xl fit better? Once again thank you for making the review and ride safe.

    • @itsmeericb
      @itsmeericb  Год назад +2

      No problem! What size do you normally wear? I measure a small and I currently have a size small helmet. Fits just fine. I usually wear a size down because I like my helmets to fit really snug. However, the XS in this helmet is too small so I am wearing my standard size I am measured for.

    • @iansampayo3527
      @iansampayo3527 Год назад

      I normally wear a xl since I’m right on the cusp between L and Xl I’m wearing an xl in a agv corsa and it fits snug. Since I’m right on the cusp if a helmet fits smaller I’m xl and if it’s on the larger side I go down to a large. But it seems like this one has a tighter fit. Seeing how aerodynamic the helmet is and quiet makes me really interested in using this on a naked bike. Honestly the best review I’ve seen and very detailed and in depth. @@itsmeericb I always wear them. but they loose perfect sealing position after lets say 30 mins or some riding and chin movement so 30 db nr rating become like 15 or something and wind noise start to annoy me. bike, screen, sitting position or how tall are you all these are very important factors for the noise level.

    • @leventeyuboglu4501
      @leventeyuboglu4501 Год назад

      @@itsmeericb all above are racing helmets, noise isolation is not their priority, however we still want to buy them coz their look, venting and stability. I like too many thing on this helmet. visor, visor closure, weight, neck curtain, chin curtain, dense padding. when I look those things in isolation, they seems like the best. but it didnt work for me altogether as whole. if you wait on some red light, antifog treatment not working on a brand new helmet (consider the coating wear out later) winter breath guard needs some speed to work. tight helmet started to feel a little loose very quick. but puting on and of was still difficult. noise and stability wise it didnt satisfy me but if it worked for you, it is cool, I m happy for you. at the and, this is a racing helmet, we dont need to expect touring strenghts from it, productors should do better products. this is an old helmet, and adding stabilizer will not save the sells, they need more touch for road use

      As far as which one is better, they are both fantastic helmets but I feel the Shark offers more features for the price. The Pista really just belongs on the track. When it comes to looks that is a subjective. The Shark is by far more quiet than the Pista. The Pista comes with ear plugs.

      Personal experience. Have two pistas, one with a cardo black and one with a cardo edge. Always use earplugs that reduce about 20db. Even with 44mm speakers of cardo black, listening to the music is fine, but carrying a conversation is nearly impossible. With an edge, it's not that the volume that is louder, but somehow, the quality of the voice is much clear. Full exhaust with stage 2 brentune is far from quiet, but after your review, I want to try this helmet. Solely for the quietness of it.
