    Hello, please by VERY careful running bass amps through the Captor X... it’s rated at 100 watts RMS - the SVT can produce upwards of 400 watts as well as many other bass amps.

    • @szrnkabela
      @szrnkabela Год назад

      Just don't use them with full volume

    • @Jonathan_Doe_
      @Jonathan_Doe_ 5 месяцев назад

      If you run through to a cab with the attenuation turned off, it should be ok, as the Captor isn’t really converting any signal into heat… Obviously this won’t allow for silent recording though.

    You funked those riffs up so much I almost didn't notice it was Sepultura

    3:05 In it you'll find lots of guitar crap that you can delete easily and then you're left with only the... GOOD STUFF

    Sepultura 🤘🏼 riff was refuse / resist!
    Thanks for doing a demo for the captor. This is the only video I could find featuring bass. I’m going to try my Terror bass 500 with the captor. At 8 ohms it’s only 250 watts. If I keep the volume reasonable I’m not going to hurt anything. Two Notes says they play 500 watt SS heads through the device often without issue

    Nothing better than a P-bass and a Ampeg SVT.

      Yeah, I agree on nothing is better but my p-bass and mesa 400+ is definitely not worse ;) oh and lets not forget 8x10 "the fridge"

      I have a fender super bassman and I purchased a genzler 410-3 and I couldn't be more pleased. Love the look of the fridge but it won't fit in my car. This 410 is fantastic and better sounding than any ampeg I've played through.

    • @WatchingMamut

      @@ursaminor3057 it's good to look outside of the box of what is commonly considered "the best". I've recently tried a marshall bass 4x12, not a common choice and it's definitely an interesting sound.

      @@WatchingMamut yeah definitely. It's a killer time to be a bassist. Want heavy? You can find them at solid deals. Want ultra portable? Tons of those out there, too. My amp isn't light but it's not going to break my back either. Tons of great options right now that won't break the bank.

  • @dookie84

    I wish they would create one for more than 200 watts. It would be perfect for my SVT II non pro (300 watts). I wanted to try it, but after this video I wont take the risk. The juice really starts if you really turn the svt up all the way....

    • @basstheworldofficial
      @basstheworldofficial  4 года назад +2

      It would be gigantic and very heavy

    • @jasontanner5836
      @jasontanner5836 Год назад

      They should make something for bassists to use between the cab and head. Everything is amp sim snd preamp. There’s nothing for cab emulation WITH an actual existing amp head. My terror bass is 200 watts at 8 ohms so I’m tempted to try and just keep the volume moderate

    I second what Justin Byrant stated. Also the SVT Classic is 2 or 4 ohms. Impedance miss matching can damage the head or/and the Captor X. This is very dangerous.

    • @basstheworldofficial

      You can combine multiple units to match it to the right impedance

  • @jakeadams0412

    Is it the amp/preamp that sounds so good, or the interface/box? Or some combination? Because this sounds as deep, warm and tubish as it gets. In other words, it sounds amazing and I wouldn’t record using anything else for that tone.

    My Ampeg B25B is a 16ohm speaker output. I notice you have the 8ohm version of this (there is also a 16ohm). I guess the 8ohm will work as well.

    • @basstheworldofficial
      @basstheworldofficial  2 года назад

      You can make it 8 ohms if you put a dummy plug in the 2nd output

    Can you explain in more detail how to use a second attenuator with the captor x for 4 ohm amps? Exactly what is the signal chain? Thanks

    • @basstheworldofficial
      @basstheworldofficial  4 года назад

      you need an 8 Ohms Captor and an additional 8 Ohms attenuator. When the amps has a 4 ohms out, it means you can also connect 2x8 Ohms in parallel. So one speaker out goes to the captor, the other one to the attenuator

    Anyone watching this in hope for there svt cl/vr to record silent. Don’t do it you will regret it. But there is a guy on reverb Julius music box who can make you a load box that will work for the 300 watts of power and also include a Jensen di so you can use a two notes cab m+ with out blowing up your amp.

    Great vid! I have an Orange AD 200 Bass MK 3 (200 Watts Tube Head), can I connect it to the Torpedo Captor X without risking blowing my amp? I read that it handles a max of 100 watts (on guitars) so I'm not sure if it's safe to use it with my Orange head for silent recording.

    • @basstheworldofficial
      @basstheworldofficial  3 года назад

      You can combine it with a second (cheap) attenuator, then it’s safe to use with the Ad200
