the captain has proven that you can teach an old dog new tricks. his playing has improved so much in the last few years it's mindblowing. a great inspiration for the rest of us old dudes. thanks my brother.
Being surrounded by amazing players all the time probably helps too.
I started coming here to learn more about guitar hardware and what to consider when buying ... and now I come to luxuriate in Pete and The Captain's utterly delicious playing. I wish I could roll around in their sound like a dog enjoying a fall leaf pile.
Dogs famously prefer other things to roll in.

You should have a DB meter in the background like your buddies from That Pedal Show. Nice little product and affordable too.
They do

You know, you all should offer “experiences” to be able play for 15-30 mins in the “video room” along to danish Pete “loops” for “personal videos” with the amps and pedals you have there....I’d pay good money for that...
..to be able to play with Pete or the captain or Rabea..priceless! Most of us amateur home guitarists want to 1-play some awesome gear to see if it’s worthy buying and 2- play and feel like we might one day might be famous on youtube 3- play with other musicians we respect !
How does Pete make everything he plays look so effortless. Truly an amazing player 👏
Half the reason I'm here everyday is these intros. Damn good. Every time. Well done gents.
It does make me dream of moving when I see 90 degree's being referred to as sweltering. We peaked at 109 last week and it was 95 yesterday. And I lve in the northern US. Next move will be somewhere more mild and balanced in their weather. My guitars will thank me for it too. Hahahaha
The captain has gotten so much better since I started watching, it's pretty cool to see. Keep up the good work guys
Mine arrived today and yes Andertons made me do it - what a completely awesome piece of kit, total game changer
holy timing, Batman! i ordered my Captor X and it's en route to be here tomorrow, this is awesome!
Awesome video once again guys!! Extremely informative! The technology makes possible for all of us to play home without being shot at! Such a nice device if you play at home and or gigging. Keep it up Captain and Pete and I must say it again, too bad the viewing experience is ruined by these intrusive and annoying ads from RUclips. They suck...
Thanks for the insight on your office rig and the journey to your preferred setup for today. I appreciate the perspective, given you have access to any gear you like. 👍
I just picked up the two notes cab M and I am super impressed with it. I look forward to trying the captor some day!
I love how the Captain always looks like he's in love with Pete when he plays :D
This video made me just order one, thanks for the help. Can't wait to get this.
Pete you have sold me on the Thinline! Coolest guitar ever😍😍😍😍
I have one of these. It’s great. One thing I stupidly didn’t realise is that 100w amp heads are actually really loud when cranked. The actual input transformers and tubes make a bit of sound (they’re not microphonic). I have my studio monitors lovely and whisper quiet for late night recording, but the sound coming out of the head has my wife knocking on the door.
I recommend the Hairband Cab Simulation from the Two Notes Store. A nice little cab without the Green Backs or V30s.
Great Demo!I live in a Condo and need this badly!I am getting this for sure!Great piece for recording!Great options!!More versitle than Mesa’s Cabclone ir.Great price point as well! Thanks,Captain for the insight!!
Thank you for this video. I am getting one of these and just watched the BOSS WAZU vs OX BOX. The ending was a bone hunter riot! Have a fine day in England Andertons Mucic Co!
Man I Look Forward To Your Videos Everyday at Lunch Keep Em Coming You Guys Rock 👍👍🎶🎶🎸
Everytime Pete tries to explain something I feel like Im transported into Willy Wonkas garden. I have no clue what is going on but I love him still.
Beautiful intro, marvelous, soulful, uzw... love you guys !
Great video guys. I think it all has its place, just another excuse to get more gear. Two Notes make some great gear, so easy to use.
Gorgeous tele!
wow !!!! what an intro !!!!!!! B E A U T I F U L .... yet it makes me sooo jealous !!!!! wow ....
Greetings from Portugal

Can't wait to get mine. Been on order for ages with Andertons. Was due to be in stock today, but had an email this afternoon to say that the shipment is delayed until 31st. 😫
Awesome playing guys! 💯 👏🏿 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Great little box lads nice playing sounds great 👍
They sound really great 👍.
That intro was rifftastic.
The best Purell ad ever.
Super cool intro guys so Relaxing
Great review and my next purchase!
You're completely right with the whole, it doesn't provide the player with the same physical experience as a cabinet. No question. This thing though, in my opinion, isn't made to do that. It's a tool for a situation. I play in Nashville pretty often and Nashville HATES guitar cabinets. Lol. Hates them. So this little box is the "make the sound guy happy" box. Freakin nails it.
Great intro.. love the Tele
Love it!
Thanks for tuning in!
Bought one. It’s quite nice….especially for my neighbours at 2:00 in the morning!
You can truly get a plenitude of tones which are very realistic.
I own 5 cabs and 3 combos and 4 heads…and it sounds very good.
One catch, it doesn’t quite capture the glassy clarity of say your plexi when you ride the guitar volume.
You’ll need a few IR’s for that. Say clean, low gain, crunch and high gain.
It sounds great on my headphones and great through my monitors. (And I haven’t even mentioned the midi capabilities)
Finally, if Two-Notes wants to send me an 8ohm version, I’ll gladly accept it!
PS- this outro Clip is not representative of the great tones that are possible !
We are waintg for that Ox VS Captor X test!!! 😁
Like Lee Said , you Can now use your favorite valve AMP at Home and not waking up the baby , i will for the first time buy a valve AMP and this torpedo saved my life cause now i can choose the AMP a like the most even if its a 50/100w and use it for live and Home
We need a lesson on that nice rhythm Pete was rocking!
5w amp can be made quieter by having a smaller speaker connected to it. I have a 5f1 home made clone in a small box with a 6 inch speaker. It still gets loud when you drive it, but if you live in a house it is ok. When I have to be really quiet i turn it to 2 or 3 and use a drive pedal. And when I want to be loud (full sounding) in connect it to 1x12 cab. Having a valve amp I wanted as little sound processing as possible.
Love your videos, thank you
You are so welcome!
Been waiting a long time for this one
Mr Lee, interesting way of using Captor with small desktop speakers, could you make a video of your set up? Thanks.
I love when people actually play songs for the demos it’s random chords and noodles
"body, thickness, and brilliance". Maybe the album title of an Anderton's crew collaboration? 🤔
Go Captain GO!
Was the opening called "Pete and Lee's Albatross Jam"? Sounded heavenly!
Sounds like The Beatles Don't Let Me Down to me.
I have a plate in my head too
I could have just listened to that for the whole video.
Heavenly is such a good adjective for it! 😍
I think it's a variation on Andertons Guitar Jam tracks Vol 4 Shaken not Stirred
Did anyone get the feeling that they just had an argument right before playing that??
Yes
Mee too
I hope they made up with a little kiss
If it was on the hottest day, I'd wager everyone was wiped out and a little peeved. It got to 32°C which is utter madness here! I'd give this one the benifit of the doubt. ✌😎
I reckon they’ve had a tiff
This thing is a recording studio in your gigbag... At that price vs feature it is the productof the year!!
In terms of the rabbit hole of different sounds, I've got a Captor X and here's the issue: changing presets (room, cab model, mike, etc.) on this thing affects the tone and sound an order of magnitude more than what amp your are using, to the point where the amp's tone easily gets lost/masked by the rest of the tone shaping tools and it almost doesn't matter which amp you are using.
That’s true of real cabs/ mics and as well... plug a Fender amp into a Marshall cab= very ‘’Marshall ” same w/ a Vox cab= very ‘Vox’
That intro jam reminded me of a Faces outtake I'm fond of.
Best bit of the video. ‘Pete. Yes darling’
one of the best jams!!!!!!! Great playing, both of you!
The best is obviously the les paul tribute jam
Thanks for the comments, we're glad you enjoyed our jams in this video!
With this I can finally play through my mini plexi in my apartment 😊
What are you guys listening through in the room? Active studio monitors? How does it sound in the room compared to hearing the signal through a cab?
Attenuators !!! well i put my Greer LightSpeed last in my "Drive" chain, set it up as clean as i can, and then turn the volume i desire ... well it isnt the perfect solution ... but it works when i want to play late in the evening ... without waking up my flat neighbours ... eheehehe ... :p
but this "Captor X" its na amazing device ... for sure ....
Rock On ...
One million percent? Wow! I better get one for my office.
If I have a JCM 900 with (4)16 / 8 Ω switching can I use one of these? At the moment I've got it set to (4)16 and connected to the 16Ω input of a 1960A 4x12. I'm guessing no and I am in the 20 something percent of amps mentioned at the end of the video?
Wish my playing improved as much as the Captain!
Question for Lee's office system roadie: In Lee's office setup, does he use his "in the loop" pedals (delay etc.) in the loop of his amp or between the Captor X and his Genelecs? (which would give the advantage of stereo)
Hey guys! I do have a question: How do you turn off the torpedo captor x?
This was great demo! Bought the captor x, and it's what I needed for my Mesa Tremoverb.
singing along the intro:
Don't let me down, don't let me down
Don't let me down, don't let me down
Nobody ever loved me like she does
Oh, she does, yeah, she does
And if somebody loved me like she do me
Oh, she do me, yes, she does
Don't let me down, don't let me down
Don't let me down, don't let me down
I'm in love for the first time
Don't you know it's gonna last
It's a love that lasts forever
It's a love that had no past
Don't let me down, don't let me down
Don't let me down, don't let me down
And from the first time that she really done me
Oh, she done me, she done me good
I guess nobody ever really done me
Oh, she done me, she done me good
Don't let me down, don't let me down
Don't let me down
The Beatles - Don't Let Me Down
I am torn between CaptorX and the Fryette Power Station PS-2? I just want to "Tame" my Fender Princeton Reverb for home usage. I can only put the Volume on 2. I'd like to go to 3.5 or 4? Any Input is appreciated. Pete is so good. Love his Demo's. Stay Safe.
You kept saying at the end to put it all through studio monitors. But can't I just attenuate it through the cab? Will it sound just as good? Or are monitors better?
Now that’s the blues . They even looked so sad
Hi Pete, is that a custom built Tele. It sounds and looks beautiful.
I have my own impulses from a decade or so…so does this take the 8ohm load for the speaker…DI to a API/Neve and then use a vst for IR?
This is better then my Ox box 😳
As an attenuator alone is this good enough to bring a 50 watt tube amp down to bedroom levels? Love everything else about it and can definelty see using it even alive to tame the sound a touch
Yes it is. -25 db is pretty significant. Think 40w to 15w amp sound level difference.
Where can I get those small tables? They are awesome! :)
So, you can take your amp head and go out of the speaker output to the captor and you don't have to plug your cabinet??! I can go directly to my AI from the captor with no speaker and listen back through my monitors without damaging my amp head? I think I've been looking for such a magic box since the 90's. Please confirm because I'm sold if so.
I have one on order. Be careful as there’s an 8ohm and a 16ohm version and not many reviewers have mentioned that.
Using the 8 Ohm version with a 16 Ohm speaker is pretty safe, though the perceived EQ curve will of course change.
As always, match as good as possible. But at least don't go into a (single) lower resistive load from your amp's rating. Going higher (e.g. 8 Ohm out from amp into a 16 Ohm speaker) is safe, but you'll loose some high frequencies
cap says that @ 18.00 :) good shout thou !
@@Smartskaft2 I want to say using 8 ohm 2 notes with a 16 ohm cabinet will do damage to your amp transformers and capacitors. But hey it’s your amp.
Waiting for a Captor 8 off you guys, hope it's not long.
I'm new to amps and i have this silly question
If i have say mesa boogie mark v 35 head and don't have speaker cab so can i connect head into captor x and then captor x output to PA system?
Just take my money already!!
Don't let me dooown
Hi guys.. maybe one day you would like to test a Torpedo Live as well? If you don't need attenuator, you want to use something for studio or live (usning no cab, small clubs for ex.), I think Torpedo Live is a valid alternative? Of course that doesn't have the Bluetooth connectivity option, it's bigger (it's a rackable unit).. but then you have the LCD where you can do quick changes if needed. So, I couldn't tell. What do you think?
I am i beginner and I play thru my pedal board into a Vox ac15c1. i dont fully understand why i want/need this? Would be bedroom use only.
Pete, looks like you're going through some shit, hope you're well!
Can you show us your set up in your office Captain.
Cheers.
Missing those blindfold challenges!
My only question is why only 8 ohms? I would think they would do 16 as most heads sound best at 16 ohm?
At around 5:20 they say its going from the Two Note into their interface and then we're hearing it through our computer speakers, but for it to be in your room too, you need it to come out of some speaker as well, no? Is what we're hearing actually coming out of YOUR computer speakers and that's what we're hearing? Great video!
Nevermind, I see you explain it better at around the 8 minute mark.
What’s wrong with Pete’s face, he looks so sad....oh right it’s 33C and he’s rocking double denim 😂
90 degrees is your hottest day? That’s cute. I need to move! Our hottest day is usually rocking 110 ish. But the good thing is Oklahoma will also get to 0 with a good steady dose of wind!!!
I struggle to make OD pedals sound good straight into the desk, via the Captor X. Help!
The sad thing is I sold all my loud heads years before these were available :( now I could actually use them again.
Anyone have any experience using an older 4 ohm tube amp with the captor X?
In the time since I have watched Andertons, I've seen the Captain go from being a worse guitar player than I am, to a better one.
You're talking about moving air. Where's the Kemper Kabinet review?
I wish it was 90 Degrees! lol its 98 all week w/ 100% humidity! here in south texas
So it won’t do any damage to the amplifier? I am always concerned attenuation will fry my amps in the long run. Any help or information would be much appreciated. Great video as always!
What are the I.R used?
The opening Jam sounded like a million Grateful Dead songs
With these devices (like ox-box etc) I always wonder (from the start): when do you need one, and what do you use and what not when you use one? So, in a non-rhetorical way: who needs these?
people like me that have some high-wattage tube amps and want to play/record at home while getting the best tone out of it.
Great as a live direct to desk option too.
Recording. Instead of having to faff around with mic placement, buying expensive mics, remembering the exact position of them, etc...you just plug an Ox in and it's consistent. Sounds perfect every time. One less worry.
You can gun your tube amp to it’s sweet spot and not piss off the neighbours.
what model is that yellow tele?
Captain Lee played the Shiz out that Intro!!!
Would this be worth buying for headphones only practice?
I’m thinking of selling my amp and buying this to keep the wife and neighbors happy.
boss waza craft headphones. I've never played them but that is an option.
Why not just get a small amp that offers headphone out like the micro terror or the yamaha thr5 or, or or....
That les paul is it
