Ashley, I’ve been that friend. But that’s because I had a bunch of my own ish going on. I never unfriended any of my friends but I did step away to deal with my own mess. I never stopped being happy for their blessings but you are correct. You cant truly be 100% happy with others blessings until you deal with your own life.
Envy is very common. You are a kind person, Ashley, and not envious, that is why you would not hurt others if they are doing well. Best not to be too close to envious people, generally they do not change. Thanks for your fun videos!

hey! i usually never comment under videos but i really enjoy your vlogs & i have to say the conversation you had about friends being unhappy with themselves and unfriending you really caught my attention. as a person who has dealt with this and also has been that friend who has been unhappy i can say that i haven’t thrown a friendship away but i distance myself from that person because i don’t want them to feel bad for the blessings they are receiving. i love you! keep up the hard work!

Sometimes distance is what you both need. For your sanity, so you won’t feel stressed wondering what you did (not) do, and for their healing of what ever they are going through. Keep them in prayer and keep it moving! Safe travels!
Acquaintances have come into my life for specific seasons, some grow with me and I with them during these seasons, others drop in and move on. Sometimes people need space to get themselves together and can't be happy for others until they get past the pain or turmoil they are going through. If they are a member of my tribe, I give them time, otherwise I consider the season over, but will always be willing to listen.

Oh yes Ashley, I have experienced that too. In my own family. A sibling cut me off, over night, after a family dinner when I told her how joyful I was over an accomplishment [ I had braved an audition for a great choir and got a place] and a growing confidence. The dynamic had always been that I was her cheerleader, encourager, and I had fully expected it to be reciprocated. But in one awful phone call a day later she dumped me as her sister and her friend. She herself was in a bad place and I think
logic had nothing to do with how she saw me at that time. But it caused me untold grief and pain and confusion until I learned that you cannot change someone's else's skewed perception of you. I learned to ask myself what I wanted rather that puzzle endlessly over how to give her what she wanted. I loved her, blessed her and let her go. She is now much better in herself and much happier and has renewed relations with me. I however keep contact to family events and am very happy to chat with her but I am careful of my precious heart now.

It’s very common for people to take out their frustrations with their lives and hardships on you. Sometimes it’s a person growing and recognizing an area of immaturity. But other times it’s people showing who they truly are. At no time is it a reflection of you and your character nor your worth or merit of the blessings God has given you so always keep your head high and your mind clear. ❤️❤️❤️
Honestly I feel ya. I just don’t understand sometimes why people can be so cruel and just can’t support you no matter what. I tend to keep good news to myself as it seems like no one cares but when some friends of mine receive news they expect an applaud. Which I am generally happy for anyone in my life but when it isn’t being reciprocated it makes me feel like crap.

Chile that's my life story being around people that are this way. You seeing this is a good thing and don't dismiss it, no your not the only one. The best thing I could tell you is keep doing you, love that friend from a distance, send them love and light, when they get back to being themselves, then proceed with caution. Cause there emotions is so draining to be around. There emotions are always going to be up and down.

Okay on a serious note y'all joking aside sometimes I find myself jealous of my friends because of my particular situation my health isn't the best I'm a 14-year dialysis patient I have polycystic kidney disease so to make a long story short I've missed out on a lot of things in life that most people take for granted however I don't hold it over my friends that they're having success in life like being married or having a family you know your first child or an anniversary....
I cherish the moments that I am able to have and I'm blessed to be able to share them when I do have great moments I don't ever find myself envious of anyone and I definitely wouldn't hold it over my friendships with anyone either!!!

About friends: It may be worth reaching out from a place of love to ask if you've done something to offend them. If they're in an unhappy place, don't be quick to be defensive if they can't handle within themselves that they're not happy (with your happiness if you get it?). Let them vent if that's the case, maybe gently encourage seeking mental help with how they're feeling. If they are unreachable and you can honestly not think of a single thing you could've done to offend/hurt them, try to see a silver lining in them distancing themselves. Maybe they need to back off to work on themselves. Maybe it's the end of a toxic relationship for you. Neither of those situations are a bad thing, though they may hurt right now. You'll both be better off in the long run. ❤️

I understand why ppl hang around other successful ppl, because if u are living ur best life those who don't have the funds or resources may start to resent ur blessings, (if they are that kind of person) You have to surround yourself with like-minded individuals who are doing things in their life as well, that way you can support and congratulate each other gains and success, this may be a new man, getting married, engagement travel, home ownership having children etc.
If ppl can't be happy for you are they really in your corner 🤔

I have definitely had tension with friends in the past because they can't control their feelings of jealousy towards me, for whatever reason. It's super annoying when I am excited to go on a trip somewhere and my "friends" just have to make some snarky comment instead of being happy for me. It's so immature. I'm 26 and still dealing with things like this! It never ends haha.
I understand what you are saying about friends. I do find that people use the word “friend” very loosely and that it’s “you can be my friend but only when it suits me.” I will unfriend a friend on social media if they don’t make attempts to contact me, if they contact others and not me and yet claim they are so busy. There is nothing like I am too busy. Make time; its give and take.
You are absolutely correct Ashley. Just do you though. Don’t let it stop your flow. You have a great personality and we all deal with things but I think that’s immaturity if they can’t be happy for you even though things are not going right for them and if they are really your friend they will be for you no matter what.
Ashley you are not the only one! It has happened to me a few times before within just friendships. I won't go into details about it since its the past.

I can say that I've had instances were my friends are thriving and confident about themselves and I've been happy for them but deep down I get even more sad bc I'm not where I want to be in life although I wouldn't not be friends with them because of that. Also my best friend of almost 5 years recently stop talking to me and literally told me he didn't want to be my friend bc I was not improving myself and I'm in debt... so that really broke my heart. I feel like money is not everything and you should be grateful that you have people that love you for who you are ! I love your videos!!! Greetings from Missouraaa
What you said about friends who distance themselves from their friends when time gets rough for their lives: I realized I'm kind of friend. It's not a good thing and I realize that's why when I am in better times of my life I wonder where all my friends are. I have to make a whole new set of friends. For the past few years I have been going through a pretty down period and distanced myself from friends who had things going better for them. Tbh, although I was truly happy for my friends, I was a bit envious things were going better for them and not for me. My envy poisoned those friendships. I hope I can reconcile with them. This is a character flaw that I need to pray about and resolve if I want to have life-long friends. Thank God I still have at least 2 "ride or dies" and "day ones" that still put up with me and my bs years long mood swings. 😅
I'm 17 this year and honestly I can say I'm dealing with the same things so I just told myself that I'm gonna pray for my mouth to just shut up 😂😂 cause sometimes your happiness and achievement is their depression as if it's just all easy to get ... Now when I get good news I run back home tell my parents and my grandparents we have a Very amazing quiet celebration and kindly ask them not to tell people (and they totally agree, either way its got nothing to do with those people 🙄), they will just see for themselves cause they obviously ALWAYS watching

I can definitely relate to your situation. My sister-in--law and I are both nurses. While she likes the stability of staying in one job and has done so now for over twenty yrs, I most certainly don't. Kudos to her, because I get bored too easily, and could never muster up the strength to keep going to a job I was dissatisfied in. She's always complaining about how she's reached the top tier of the pay scale and is locked out of any major raises, except for small yearly performance evaluations. About fifteen yrs ago I decided to try my hand at travel nursing as a way of getting to see parts of the country I wanted to explore and still getting to do what I love. Once I got a taste of the travel nursing and the variety it affords, I've never looked back. Love, love it!! Each assignment is 13 weeks and you usually have the option to re-up for another 13 weeks, if you like. I travel with a nurse buddy of mine, which makes our adventures that much more fun. The pay is real!y phenomenal and we schedule our assignments so we're home for major holidays. Something unheard of with traditional nursing. So back to my SIL, she's so jealous of all travel nurses (those in her facility too) about our salaries and our getting to travel around the country, that she can hardly bring herself to be civil. Always popping off her mouth to my other SIL about how stupid she thinks that my buddy and I are to be putting ourselves "in harms way" by traveling to larger cities like NYC, Miami and LA. I'm like whatever, our agency always puts us in in the best part of the city and more often then not, it's in a gated complex. Crime can happen ANYWHERE. She's never followed me social media and I don't ask. Why stir the pot with her seeing our travel pics. So yes, girl I feel you!! My best advice is just stay away from the negative energy as much as possible. My good thoughts are with you. Btw: many often take my name as my being a flight attendant, but it is not. Although I think you have a super cool job!! My name (flyin) has to do with my flying from one coast to the other while on assignments and (arris) the origins of my last name. Be blessed and safe flying. 🙏🌠✈

Don’t be so hard on your friend. It’s hard to be a loser amongst winners 🤷🏽♀️ I don’t think it’s jealousy or hate - it’s just disappointment in one’s own journey. The whole “it’s just not your season” idea is an ultra positive way to look at life which can be sometimes unrealistic.
Ultimately one’s own happiness is more important than another’s.

I and my kids go there about it fun every other weekend anyways! but she thinks it's a poor idea but i'm happy and my kids are safe. Girl, I feel yah on the friendship comment. I totally agree that you should be happy for your friend no matter if you are not winning at life, right away. But I agree that some people need to distance themselves. I have been the friend on either end and I would rather root for them from a distance instead of putting that negative on them. When I’m in rut or funk and ppl around me are winning, I have enough wherewithal to know “this too shall pass” in my life. It’s such a Welcome break to be around ppl who are a source of positivity! Girl! 100% I am going through the same thing and it's such a shame when jealousy & envy becomes malice. Much like you, I have no problem supporting the people I care about no matter what I'm going through. I think these people hurt us because they are unhappy in their own lives & find it easier to act a fool rather than look in the mirror and try to repair themselves.
