The way Vijay sold this character and the mystery behind so many elements made this movie one hell of a ride. Coffee Shop and Market scenes are etched in mind. Love the choreography. Brutality
That scene where his wife kissed him was a curveball for the audience when it came out in cinemas because, they are our childhood favourites. In the early 2000s, they acted in a couple of movies together and never did a scene like that.

These are such actors.......they have never done an on-screen kiss ever before. The next LCU movie is for 2025 and is Kaithi 2 5. In the end when Vikram call Parthi you can also see the girl of Vikram (the one that help Amar, the investigator of Vikram) 6. The orphanage that Parthi mention is the same orphanage that Amar grows when was a kid 7. The devil crow behind Parthi when his father go to meet him is a way the director to say that Parthi/Leo is worse than his father 8. Yes the characters lie about Leo dead, to protect him, so we actually dont know exactly what happend that night 9. There is a deleted scene that shows us how psychotic Parthi/Leo is-. Just after his father dies, Parthi pretends to cry as a mockery and wipes "his tears" with his dead father's shirt. That scene is great but sadly deleted

Leo wasn't bad its just that all the build up curiosity in the first half is badly handled in the second. The flashback mass scenes really ruined the movie
At this part 9:44 the Netflix version of Leo censored the F bomb but in the theatrical version it wasn't censored so that's why Vijay (Parthiban) covered his daughter's ears
1. The orphanage that parthiban mentions is the same place where Amar(vikram movie) also grewup. The connections of these characters to the orphanage will be revealed in the upcoming movies. 2. Maya the prostitute girl from vikram movie has given a cameo too. You can see her in the coffee shop scene spying parthiban. She can be seen in the end credits too along with vikram. She must have been hired by the black squad to work as a spy. 3. You can notice Parthiban not turning immediately or paying attention after being called by his name after the coffee shop murder incident. He keeps thinking about his alter ego Leo that has been awaken after that incident. 4. Hirudayaraj dsouza the character that narrated the flashback to joshi partially faked it. He lied about leo's death to safeguard & to avoid confusions in parthiban aka leo's present life as a family man.
I have few theories about the LCU. When Joshy showed Leo's picture to D'souza in prison, camera was on Joshy. And he said, I can see the fear of death in your eyes. Clearly D'souza knew who's the man in the picture and what will happen to him if he tells the truth. So he made up a story about siblings' death. I think not only Leo but Elisa also survived that day. And later she married Dilli.
The best scene in the entire movie for me is when Harold Das compares Parthiban's face with Leo's face by breaking the picture frame as well as adding the Badass song in the background at the same time.

I think the first Hyena sequence is a metaphor. That hyena is actually parthiban. Just like that hyena he is also left his family/ clan. Just trying to find a safe place. And he finally found his family. So when someone tries to harm this peaceful life he will defend by attacking them. The Main villain of the story is leo himself. Parthiban is trying to run away from that identity that is haunting him. Also in the end parthiban says that those who know me as leo are people who are either going to die or already dead. And our Vikram is already a ghost. Symbolically he is dead. And he knows leo's name and identity. After watching it for the second time I noticed so many things. After that coffee shop scene he was crying not because he killed those people but he knows now their is no turning back. That leo in him finally came outside. He is even emotionally manipulating his wife. That crying and all was all a performance so that she would never think of doubting him again. I thought that was an intersting thing for a character who is openly a threat physically but he also got a manipulative streak that's just as ruthless. Not a good guy at all. He only cares about his secret identity not being revealed. Vikram is hoping for a team up or something. But I don't think that's gonna happen. Parthiban or leo doesn't give a f#ck about drug free society. So from that moment parthiban is gonna go after vikarm to eliminate him. We have lot of possibilities. Maybe he will eventually team up with Vikram or will join hands with rolex.

The daughter and his employee were too traumatized to even pay attention. The direction in that moment makes it clear he's having a real breakdown and is genuinely crying and disturbed. That's because he just killed again after having managed to stay away from that life for 20 years. When his wife suspects him, he doesn't fake. He sees the life and identity he built for 20 years start to crack and it pushes him on the verge of a breakdown. Various other moments in the movie show that. Claiming he is just manipulating her is a complete misunderstanding of the complexity of the character and of his internal struggle. It's also in contradiction with the hyena metaphor which is central in the story.
The true things from the flashback are: Harold killed Elisa with a knife Leo is a psychopath considering when he was a child when that honey badger got k*lled and harold said that Leo was smiling while his face was full of that badgers blood
I feel Parthi's wife also know about his true identity. When Joshi tried to explain about Leo to them, they both had a look at each other before saying something. Even while trying to explain about their first meet, Parthi tries to remember Munnar Trekking by looking her which I felt he created the story just at that moment. It is very hard to believe that a boy would forget where he met his girl first. The whole scenario that Sathya is suspecting his husband is a put-up just to make Joshi and his wife believe "Parthi and Leo are two different persons". Sathya definitely know Parthi's past and helping him to come over all this. Hope, the true past of Leo is shown in upcoming movies of the Universe.

The main lead actor Vijay is one of the biggest star in Indian film industry. His stardum is like on another level. That is why he got that comic book intro. The song inthe movie was sung by him and he is very good dancer as well. He has do ne all the action himself in this movie director told in an interview. About LCU Vikram is Vigilante Dilli is a Hero(He saved many policemen) Rolex and Antony Das are Psycho Villain Sandhanam,Harold Das were Villains. But What is Leo/Parthiban? He was a villain before and then he left all that. He saved a hyena,his daughter and employee and became hero. But the fact that he killed his own Father and Uncle brutally and the way he acted and lied to his wife if you think about that. It is psychotic behavior. In the end the director left us with a person who has all of the above personalities(of every other LCU character) and we will see what will he become next. There is a whole song in Leo which asks a question, Villain Yaaruda? (Who is the real Villain?). And at the end of movie , the song played on TV says I am a Wicked(evil and morally wrong)person, So ruthless and I never lie trust me. Leo/Parthiban is the most complicated and interesting character of LCU according to Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Fun fact the director of the LCU sir lokesh is not shamed or afraid of the cgi effect which can be spotted easily. He is a person just wanted to show what he want in the movie without worrying about CGI

Mersal is a huge mess. Kaththi and Thuppakki are just ok. They will *not* love these movies, I'm 100% sure of it. The rest in your list is fine. Love Today is probably too "young adult" for them but why not. Vikram Vedha and Master are sure bets.
Tamil movies they would most probably enjoy are Maaveeran, Jailer, Jigarthanda Double X. All from 2023 and available either on Prime or Netflix so I think they should consider them first.
Super glad that I bumped into your reaction on Leo. When I walked out of the theatre, I was as pumped as y'all rooting for this story to unfold. But the overhype the fans and certain "trackers" spoiling the heck out the expected sequences in the movie killed the buzz. For me, this Universe concept is relatively new for Indian cinema and the director (Lokesh Kanagaraj) is the one who actually paved way for fellow directors to create their own. There were franchises, spinoffs and cameos in a range of Indian films, but not a freakin' universe like this. That's why I pumped up when it was as I'm a follower of MCU. In my opinion, the fanbase is split in uneven halves - a small part of fans like me who are patient & understand the nuances/details/Easter eggs from the films we watch and let it play in our mind so that we appreciate it then & there. There's this other half who expects either everything to spill out in short notice or depreciate even though there's a heck load of effort. this is why i love foreign movie youtubers and foreign auidence, they actually know about all technical aspects in a film they have good knowledge about film making and they actually appreciate a movie if its good , unlike indian audienece who just critisize knowing nothing , ive seen many foreingn reaction channels who reacted to Leo and all of them loved the movie and litreally everyone of them appreciated the raw action and stylized camera work . Meanwhile in India all people did was whine about slow screen play of flashback sequence , they never saw the good side of leo they just saw the bad side. According to me that cafe scene is one of the best action scenes in Indian Cinema . The director Lokesh had a great vision in making of Leo cause the action scenes are way better than vikram. Indian audienece dont know shit about movies they will like item songs ,bad action scenes and call it a blockbuster . Indian Auidence did not understand Aim of Leo. Despite mixed reviews Leo earned 600 crores at box office which is a great feat for tamil film. Animal is very divisive. If they don't like it you know very well they'll receive hate comments. So for newbies I think they should wait a bit before trying it. 12th Fail is good, but nowhere near as amazing as what a lot of people say 🤷♀️

For your next watchalong I would suggest *Maaveeran* (on Prime), another 2023 Tamil hit. It has really cool action but in the superhero genre 🙂 Also the gangster dark comedy *Jigarthanda* (Tamil, 2014, on RUclips with subs) and its prequel *Jigarthanda Double X* (2023, onNetflix, a masterpiece!!). And if you want to check a big romcom with lavish dance sequences and family drama in a traditional Bollywood style (that was especially seen in the 90s) then I would recommend another 2023 hit, *Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani* , because it's also fun to see you react to things outside of your comfort zone! 😁

This is my favorite watchalong movie reaction for Leo because you guys looked like you had so much fun. I agree with the 80s action feels because I grew up watching lots of action films, so this movie was really awesome for me. It's not perfect, but I had so much fun watching it! So many people love this kind of typical mass masala movie. Kaithi always stand out from this LCU. some movies are made for entertainment, just for that kind of people of india. Technically this movie did something good, but not 100%. I just want to see some masss masala movie, which is top notch in every sense. Can we see some. Hopes so. Maybe. Hope for the best.
They are still newbies so I think they should first focus on movies that got very good reviews, like Maaveeran or Jigarthanda (for recent stuff). Animal is very divisive and many people disliked it, I don't think that they should risk watching it because if they don't like it they'll get lots of upset comments from fanboys. The stunt choreography was composed by a duo named ANBARIV (twin brothers named Anbumani and Arivumani), who have won a National Award in Best Stunts category for the movie KGF : Chapter 1. Now they have turned into directors too, and the lead role is played by the legendary Kamal Hassan, the VIKRAM guy you have seen before.
Leo is another example as to why fans shouldn't get too involved in the buzz and also should not watch teasers and trailers A 1000 Cr potential flick ruined becoz of bad promotion and a shitty fanbase in my state TN trolling every other hero and also hero's of other states spreading hell lot of hatred thereby damaging the movie's goodwill. It was overwhelmingly joyous to witness Leo on screens Lokesh's best work till date And Vijay's best work ever by far ❤

There is a whole song in Leo which asks a question, Villain Yaaruda? (Who is the real Villain?). And at the end of movie , the song played on TV says I am a Wicked(evil and morally wrong)person, So ruthless and I never lie trust me.
Leo/Parthiban is the most complicated and interesting character of LCU according to Lokesh Kanagaraj.
But it's predecessor were so great that it falls short in comparison

Kaththi and Thuppakki are just ok. They will *not* love these movies, I'm 100% sure of it.
The rest in your list is fine. Love Today is probably too "young adult" for them but why not.
Vikram Vedha and Master are sure bets.
Tamil movies they would most probably enjoy are Maaveeran, Jailer, Jigarthanda Double X. All from 2023 and available either on Prime or Netflix so I think they should consider them first.

Super glad that I bumped into your reaction on Leo. When I walked out of the theatre, I was as pumped as y'all rooting for this story to unfold. But the overhype the fans and certain "trackers" spoiling the heck out the expected sequences in the movie killed the buzz. For me, this Universe concept is relatively new for Indian cinema and the director (Lokesh Kanagaraj) is the one who actually paved way for fellow directors to create their own. There were franchises, spinoffs and cameos in a range of Indian films, but not a freakin' universe like this. That's why I pumped up when it was as I'm a follower of MCU.
In my opinion, the fanbase is split in uneven halves - a small part of fans like me who are patient & understand the nuances/details/Easter eggs from the films we watch and let it play in our mind so that we appreciate it then & there. There's this other half who expects either everything to spill out in short notice or depreciate even though there's a heck load of effort. I'm glad that I've bumped into like minded people like you bunch! Thank you for your awesome work and keep rocking ❤

this is why i love foreign movie youtubers and foreign auidence, they actually know about all technical aspects in a film they have good knowledge about film making and they actually appreciate a movie if its good , unlike indian audienece who just critisize knowing nothing , ive seen many foreingn reaction channels who reacted to Leo and all of them loved the movie and litreally everyone of them appreciated the raw action and stylized camera work . Meanwhile in India all people did was whine about slow screen play of flashback sequence , they never saw the good side of leo they just saw the bad side. According to me that cafe scene is one of the best action scenes in Indian Cinema . The director Lokesh had a great vision in making of Leo cause the action scenes are way better than vikram. Indian audienece dont know shit about movies they will like item songs ,bad action scenes and call it a blockbuster . Indian Auidence did not understand Aim of Leo. Despite mixed reviews Leo earned 600 crores at box office which is a great feat for tamil film. I just wish Indian Audience understood leo and Leo should have had promotion level of RRR then Leo could have done 1000 CRS

Also, when Oak said that dance sequences feel off at first because you're not used to it but later you end up loving them, it's something that I've seen happen with a lot of westerners, especially guys 🙂 That's why people shouldn't write musical numbers off before they've actually experienced them.
For your next watchalong I would suggest *Maaveeran* (on Prime), another 2023 Tamil hit. It has really cool action but in the superhero genre 🙂 Also the gangster dark comedy *Jigarthanda* (Tamil, 2014, on RUclips with subs) and its prequel *Jigarthanda Double X* (2023, onNetflix, a masterpiece!!).
And if you want to check a big romcom with lavish dance sequences and family drama in a traditional Bollywood style (that was especially seen in the 90s) then I would recommend another 2023 hit, *Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani* , because it's also fun to see you react to things outside of your comfort zone! 😁

This is my favorite watchalong movie reaction for Leo because you guys looked like you had so much fun. I agree with the 80s action feels because I grew up watching lots of action films, so this movie was really awesome for me. It's not perfect, but I had so much fun watching it! So many people love this kind of typical mass masala movie. Kaithi always stand out from this LCU. some movies are made for entertainment, just for that kind of people of india. They are still newbies so I think they should first focus on movies that got very good reviews, like Maaveeran or Jigarthanda (for recent stuff). Animal is very divisive and many people disliked it, I don't think that they should risk watching it because if they don't like it they'll get lots of upset comments from fanboys.
