- Resident Evil has introduced us to many amazing characters we love only to have them taken away from us and todays character is no different. So without further delay, from working for Umbrella to a bottlecap mustache, here are 25 facts about Luis Serra.

Two facts about Luis Serra's voice actor, André Peña:
1) He actually owns a Mauser C96 Pistol, the Red 9 in real life.
2) He can actually twirl a lighter in real life and really did the mo-cap for it in the section just before he meets Ada.
One more bonus fact: Luis is pronounced Loo-ise, and not Lew-is. In that sense, the OG Luis's last moments in life was Leon mispronouncing his name at the top of his lungs. Lol.
Leon is an American so that makes sense
I always thought leon mispronouncing his name was kinda funny
That's how white ppl talk lol
I really liked how Leon said his name wrong in the original game. I kinda wish they kept it. But new Leon is a bit less of a meathead (and can speak Spanish) so I guess it makes sense he says his name correctly.
The way he mispronounced his name was cringy and insult to injury that's the last thing he could have heard
In the original, it’s not actually Saddler who kills Luis. It’s Leon pronouncing his name incorrectly.
Luis, Lewis, Louis etc. Are all the same thing.
@@mohdadeeb1829No, the f**k it's not!
Luis Sera got the screentime he deserved and its worth every minute.
The only thing that sucks is that in the remake Leon was a jerk to Luis the whole time tell he died
So if we take OG RE4 Leon who was a nice guy with remake Luis we get the perfect version of their dynamic
@@Mohamad-m7md I still think the dynamic made sense in RE4 Remake though.Luis in OG was "Just some guy" to Leon. Meanwhile in Remake, Hunnigan immediately reveals his Umbrella ties which puts Leon on edge for most of the game very understandably
@@michaelolegario6399
Still wasn’t fun to watch specially knowing that he ends up dying they could’ve done something better
@@Mohamad-m7md Obviously, Leon didn't trust him, why would he? Luis obviously knew more than he admitted to! Luis is a sicko
I was hoping, that he would survive in the remake tbh.
1. why would you
2. unnecessary comma
Me too
He still could in Separate Ways. It's odd that Ada says she has an arrangement with him in the ending when he's dead.
ikr outside of Leon and Wesker we don't get the suave guy types in RE and Luis was perfect to take over for some of Leon's missions in Europe
@@High_Vltg It’s a RUclips comment, not an English test 💀
I think he got justice in the remake, he got more screen time and also he died in a more touching death
The Fact that the Man was voiced by Seto Kaiba from Yu-gi-oh! (Japanese version of RE4 Remake) just makes it all so awesome.
Even better as Japanese Leon voiced Jonouchi from Toei's Yugioh anime (Toshiyuki Morikawa).
No wonder they sounded familiar
@@SmashBros2009 he did in fact voiced on the original.
Don’t forget Nanami
Luis's death traumatized me so much i cried so hard
I cried for a month. DLC didn’t help me. I love this man and he’s so tragic.
5:40
The Ashford siblings (Alfred and Alexia) were also shown as children in CV:X, torturing a dragonfly and feeding it to ants.
True, i was thinking the same thing
Lmao Sherry Birkin and Rose Winters as well. 😂😂
In the future Natalia Burton.
@@jackjax7921that's immediately what I thought. How tf did ink ribbon just completely forget about Sherry lmao
@@DorrajMaybe cause she was introduced as a kid? So she doesn't count. If Sherry was introduced older, then showed it would be different. It's different for kids, not kids, kids!
I really do enjoy that they fleshed out Luis' backstory and may have been responsible for Nemesis.
I bet my blacktail that Jill's VERY pissed of at Luis for being one of the people responsible for creating the Nemesis lol
And yes, my blacktail's maxed out.
@@Wott248 Silver Ghost team forever!
Luis in the remake is well made here. He’s still the same guy we all know and love in the original. I want to see more facts of Ashley and Krauser.
There's still flirtatious dialogue in the remake, like for instance when Leon mentions it's not Ashleys' 1st time running from creeps.
5:45 Luis shown as a child in the picture and being the only one.
Sheery with her family photo in RE2 and a kid: Am I a joke to you? XD Great video as usual
Also that creepy movie of Ashford twins in Code VERONICA
Luis was my favorite character in RE4. He ended up being a trillion times cooler in the remake. It sucks that he died in both versions of the game.
5:37 actually we can see Alexia and Alfred as children too.
And Moira in RE1 in the Barrys familiys photo.
@@percyjeriAnd we meet Sherry Birkin as a child for the first time as well.
Damn haha that's true 🙈
@@InkRibbon Still great video Kai👌
Kai's being a little unfair to the Red9 in the RE4make because every weapon got rebalanced since they all no longer universally have laser accuracy, but yeah without context it was nerfed in comparison to the original but considering the Remake Red9 still the most powerful handgun in the game (with stock included) within its own frame its kinda a moot point XD
I'm glad he got a bigger role in the remake.
I think the reason that the Luis killing Leon if you shoot him too many times being removed from the remake was actually the right decision. This version is much more driven to redeem for his part in causing the mass genocide in Raccoon City and his Las Plagus experimentations. The original he had nothing to do with Raccoon City but he did still want to help Leon and Ashley. Probably because Leon saved his life and was Luis’s best shot at ending Saddler’s world ending plot. Plus it probably didn’t hurt that he may have had the hots for Ashley. Not like he’s seen a human woman that’s not a Ganado in a while though.
#6 "The first time we ever get to see a character shown as a child"
Sherry Birkin: *Am I a joke to you?*
Glad that the introduction showed Sheva and Piers but not the faceless fungus “the ithan thing” 😂
So many interesting facts about luis, its so Amazing! The remake did justice on making luis as a playable character in the remake.🙏
Fun facts: in RE4 original despite he had originally a mustache, even if they removed that, he's mustache still present in his in game model during the cabin Fight, also, for many years we thought that the red9 he use was diferent from the one we obtained in the game but actually its the same one we obtained in the game, the only diference is that luis's red9 its fully upgraded.
At least Luis had a little screen time in the remake
But it was almost perfect if only Leon wasn’t a Jerk to Luis during all of his Screen time it would’ve been better
And remake Leon was also a jerk to Ben from RE2 I don’t know what is this with this new Leon and him being an asshole I don’t like how they write him
The games are still great tho it’s just that I prefer when Leon was more nice to people
2 ballistic salute in memory of Luis.
We see the Ashford twins as kids throughout almost all of Code Veronica...and Sherry Birkin is playable as a child in RE2 lol
Im hoping that Ada cud actually be able to save Luis in her scenario...
From umbrella to a bottle cap. Nice intro for this man myth legend
Pierce was one of my favorite small time characters in Resident Evil and I Hope 1 day you Make a video of about Pierce
Man, I'm so happy I found your channel...
Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!
I just can’t understand how he even lifts his arms with how tight that leather jacket is lol
Spectacular video as always, I really like the personality of OG Luis, it was hilarious, buuut they did an amazing work in the remake. It's more likeable and the screentime give him a well deserved dept.
Btw, did you ever thought of add subtitles to your videos? Because I have some friends that surely like you content, but they don't speak English I don't know how this works, but if you need help, just let me know
Louis killed me with the death scene made me laugh so much when I played 😂
I am horrible with using a controller for shooting. 😅
another fact, the Red 9 that Luis uses is modeled after the German mauser c96
Extra fact : he became so babygirl in the remake
No but fr tho the remake made him so lovable 😭💗
He does get a alternate outfit in the remake that is the vest outfit but i believe that came with separate ways.
Bonus: Villa De Lobos = Town/Village of Wolves
I love the music in this video.
Hot take, the game should've been about Luis who's trying to escape the village and castle with Leon having a mission to retrieve Luis because he has important information about the virus/parasite that he's been working on that might benefit the U.S. government. He could've still died in the game, but then Leon's "mission" would make a ton more sense than just rescuing a president's daughter.
For some reason his mustache is still there on his face during the cabin fight at least on the Xbox live version
Luis is okay. Comes good with beer.
I think the remake did a great job with Luis. I think his clothing is also better in the remake mostly becouse its more realistic
1:00 wait, didn’t Leon find a journal written by an old man, the things you say sounds like the things he wrote in his journal
Luis's death in:
og RE4: *Sad* 😢
Remake: *tragic* 😭😠
Well done Capcom, you did a great job rewriting Luis
He sounds like a Spanish Kermit the frog
Thanks for another fantastic video could you please do a video on the original Resident Evil 1 chimera enemy?
In Code Veronica, you see Alfred and Alexia as children, so Luis is not the first in the series.
Secure the Ballistics😂
Please Talk Abou The Evil Within Fanchise
Yesss
Hell no 😂
That's a good idea 💡
Luis's ballistics line was hilarious
How does las plagas work by being bitten
Luis could hold my Red9 anyday
luis is the scariest little kid i have EVER seen
I remembered I requested this. Thanks Ink Ribbon!
Thank you for the video! Luis is controversial but interesting character 🙃
Another informative video, Kai. Your Spanish is impeccable
The fact I know all these already…
I know you want to expand past RE, so I wouldn't mind seeing facts videos about Metal Gear to be honest. Liquid Snake is one of my all-time favourite video game characters, so seeing a facts video about him would be great!
I really liked luis I feel like him and Ethan would be an amazing team 😍 💙
Ark Thompson and facts on Yakuza characters like Kiryu, Akiyama, Majima, Haruka, etc. Lol.
I wish Luis survived
Thank you, I will drink water and give my cat head scratches straight away
Thanks this was what I requested
I would not mind 25 or 50 facts videos of the Devil May Cry universe.
Shadow Moses island!
Luis was good character
Please, talk about Natalia Korda
Alexia and his brother, sherril photo yeap luis was the first child we saw
In the Original RE4 for me Luis looks more like Johnny Depp from the his Movie Don Juan DeMarco, from Aragon they got only the long hair
5:38 i think you forgot sherry
LUUUUIIIIIIIS!!!
Fact #26 he smokes
Facts about Piers Nivan plz.
Can you do a 25 facts video on Lisa Garland from Silent Hill please?
I thought Luis working for umbrella was something that was only in the remake timeline
I really wished that he survived in the remake...
I think in the original his last name was just Sera and it was Sera with one r not Serra with 2 r's like in the remake.
What’s the track in the background?
Can you do Jack Krauser, please?
I’m glad they took most, if not all of the misogyny out the game for the remake. Leon looking up Ashley’s skirt is just out of character, and an excuse for the male game creators and audiences alike to be perves at the expense of Leon’s likability
The ballistic line was controversial for who? People who can't take a joke.
rip luis, you wouldve loved grindr
Now i knida want to go back and play re4 remake even though i got all the achievements for it but it would be just for fun and chilled time, here's hoping they add the assigment ada dlc soon to the game i mean they brought back mercenaries mode.
Please do more metal gear
If Capcom remakes code Veronica hopefully Luis will make a cameo in some way
Do facts about the Merchant and Duke
i love his character so much and i honestly wanted capcom to do more with his character, i hope rly hes in mercenaries
Well, technically you see Alfred and Alexia as children in Code Veronica 🤷🏻♂️ do we see Moira as a younger version in Revelations 2?
In fact more to the point we saw Sherry as her child self 🤣🤣
1. He's very hot
When i was a kid , i use to watch old vhs martial art movies. One of my favorites were jackie chan the armor of god. Its about jackie trying to rescue a girl, along with a friend that i kinda see as luis, that was kidnapped by a cult somewhere in Europe, if im not mistaken. But the whole entire movie he's fighting these cultists in a castle. It reminds me so much of re4. I'm kinda surprised that the creators didn't get their idea from the movie, or maybe they did? But they never mentioned it 🤔
6:02 ………why censor that? We’ve all seen it
Because everyones become a pussy the last 20 years..
How long do we think before RE4 Remake goes on sale on PSN? Should i pick up now or will it be a matter of months?
I say to wait when Capcom does their Yearly Sale amount October/November for the Holidays. Sometimes they'll put their new games at least with a discount of 15-20%. That's what I did with village
This might be bc I kinda got the old and cheesy action movies of yesteryear vibe from OG RE4, but the 'ballistics' line of his never really bothered me all that much.
Overall though, I did like REmake Luis' take on the role more if only bc his character felt more... 'real', I guess?
Tbh, outside of him and Ashley, I didn't really like many of the re-characterizations of the RE4 cast.
The villains felt even more flat and less interesting than before and while I appreciate more of the nods to Operation Javier with Krauser and the changes in motivation that came as a result of it, I still wasn't a fan of how flatly generic evil he came off as...
That's just me though.
Even if you’re not a fan of the remake version, I do appreciate that they gave Krauser more depth this time around instead of just being a lackey for Wesker. (Keeping the dog tags of his fallen comrades, his mentor/student relationship with Leon.)
@@x-ScaryBerry-x
Sure they gave him more depth, and like I said, I appreciate the connections to Operation Javier. I'm just annoyed that that very depth is what makes him even more one note and flat than he was in the original. Kinda funny how that works out, but then again, he's really only just here to serve as a nifty plot device to flesh out the 'blank period' between RE2 and 4, as well as to give Wesker another way to get his plaga sample since anyone with half a brain wouldn't trust Ada not to double cross them.
...Though, an interesting difference between REmake and OG Ada is that in REmake, Ada seemed to have a legitimate change of heart at the last second versus being the triple agent she really was.
That one difference, while small for now, could potentially make her a VERY different character from now on compared to the original. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing yet since it's still kinda early but my point still stands. She feels less like the cool and consummate professional here than in the original continuity... which is kind of a mixed bag for me at the moment.
I guess, while one note characters who only show up in one game, for the most part, feel flatter than cardboard compared to the originals, others get an extra level of depth and tweaking that making them way better this time around, like Luis. I like both Ashleys though but will admit this one feels more well rounded and less like a kid.... but then, RE4 was a 90's action movie.
You forgot to mention he was a ladies man
Shame his character died off. He was cool.
All the Remake stuff is non-canon
This is not a popular opinion but I glad Luis died because I didn't like his character
first
No balistics dialog, no fun
My sweet brother plzz 25 Fact on jack muller I want information.❤😊
I FINALLY became a patreon!!
Here are my 25 facts about Luis Serra: 1-he’s fine af, 2 through 25-see fact 1.
Luis is also the slowest moving character in RE4R Mercenaries. Activating mayhem mode makes him run faster
You’d think the guy that’s running in and out of the story so much would be faster
He gets too much hate in the mercenaries 😭 I understand but tbh I love this man and any sort of media that helps me pretend he’s alive will do… it’s nice playing as Luis though I’d probably lose and die by getting stabbed 😢
@@KingNerdiushe's tired man
