I've always loved these sketches. Mitchell and Webb in all their absurd glory, and you know they love games show (like I do) to put together something so cheerfully ridiculous. (Their "Weakest Link" parody is also uproarious.) And of course, good for Ms. Colman, and I've had fun sharing these sketches with friends who love "The Favourite" but have never heard of "That Mitchell and Webb Look."
The first time I watched this, I completely lost it at the 'NO' paper bag and laughed so hard I was sick. I had already been crying at 'rotate the board', but 'NO' sent me. Good times.

@@nthgth @ModMokkaMatti Actually, I think we Americans use "math" because we consider it to be an uncountable/mass noun (that is, no one ever talks about a singular "mathematic").
@@TomBertalan Never thought into it like that, but you're right, it is basically an uncountable noun. But "maths" works as well as "math" for that. I think it just depends on how you take the s at the end of "mathematics." My vote is that it's not an actual plural, like other subjects of study like law and biology, so the s can leave with the rest of the unabbreviated word. I guess across the pond it's colloquially treated as a plural of "mathematic" (which is not a noun), so they abbreviate the singular and keep the "s" so it stays plural. Just my take.
@@QuadMochaMatti Math was the initial abbreviation, appearing in the 1870s, whereas maths appeared in print in 1911. The American version is just a more traditional English spelling than what is generally assumed to have always been in the U.K..

I’m not disbelieving you, I’m sure you’re telling the truth, I’m simply surprised because ‘old enough to be employed but too young to have watched Mitchell and Webb when it aired’ is exactly the age bracket I’d expect of someone who spends most of their time online, and thus would have at least stumbled across this sketch before.
