I don’t know why the didn’t release this version. So good. A lot of earlier Democracy tracks were better. Axl overthought the songs. Good album though.
All the love in the world couldn't save you All the innocence inside You know I tried so hard to make you Oh I wanna make you change your mind And it hurts too much to see you And how you left yourself behind You know I wouldn't want to be you Now there's a hell I can't describe So now I wander through my days Trying to find my ways To the feelings that I felt I saved for you and no one else And though as long as this road seems I know it's called the street of dreams But that's not stardust on my feet It leaves a taste that's bittersweet That's called the blues I don't know just what I should do Everywhere I go I see you You know it's what you planned, this much is true What I thought was beautiful, don't live inside of you anymore I don't know just what I should do Everywhere I go I see you You know it's what you planned, this much is true What I thought was beautiful, don't live inside of you anymore What this means to me Is more than I know you believe What I thought of you now Has cost more that it should for me What I thought was true before Were lies I couldn't see What I thought was beautiful Is only memories
Oddly enough (based on all the comments here), I really prefer the official version. Like, I prefer it *a lot* more than this. This one I didn't like one bit compared to the official, which I'm glad ended up being the one to make it to the final cut
Anyone have the earlier version? With no guitar in the intro. It’s the best. I had it on an earlier phone, but I happened to break it. Can’t find it anywhere
Awesome version! Also, Do you have the demo of Hard Skool? That was originally recorded back in 1999? If so, I think you should upload the 1999 version of Hard Skool, that would be awesome if that were to happen.
i'd imagine it would be taken down very quick. GNR are all over this stuff. Surprised this one has lasted this long, maybe because it's so simliar to the one that made the album
@@undefinedfirstnameundefine7820 I’ve heard of the original demo of Hard Skool. I rarely have heard much or listened to it. But yeah, I really appreciate for the link.
Axl tinkered around with this song too much. Actually, the same can be said for the entire album... Each version of this song got a little bit worse and a little bit worse IMO. Like they weren't horrible updates, but I loved this early version and the early live performances
This is way better. That “estranged” guitar part never should’ve been removed.
agreed! That's what made the song!
Which part of the song is that? Agreed this and the 2000 versions are the best.
Agree
@@michaelmyers89830:16
much better than the final album version Love all the sounds they used in this early version.
I love this version overall but I hate the guitar or synth on the backings at 1:36 very much, I'm happy they got rid of them eventually)
@@louddude sound so melancolic, dude. Is cute
Demo recorded October 23, 2000. And Other drums recorded June/July 2001.
I like this one a lot. It needs the “ok, nevermind” in there though!
The guitar in the chorus at 1:47 and 3:20 shouldve stayed in the album version 😢
Robin Finck ❤
OK never mind!
From rock in Rio 2001? I love it so much.❤
he should've had that on the final version!😆
Damn, i love the album version and this is somehow even better!
I dunno how this video is still up gang..
I love this song beautiful lyrics ❤

Tommy has complained in interviews that they re recorded stuff so much when he felt it was fine. Agree.
All the love in the world couldn't save you
All the innocence inside
You know I tried so hard to make you
Oh I wanna make you change your mind
And it hurts too much to see you
And how you left yourself behind
You know I wouldn't want to be you
Now there's a hell I can't describe
So now I wander through my days
Trying to find my ways
To the feelings that I felt
I saved for you and no one else
And though as long as this road seems
I know it's called the street of dreams
But that's not stardust on my feet
It leaves a taste that's bittersweet
That's called the blues
I don't know just what I should do
Everywhere I go I see you
You know it's what you planned, this much is true
What I thought was beautiful, don't live inside of you anymore
I don't know just what I should do
Everywhere I go I see you
You know it's what you planned, this much is true
What I thought was beautiful, don't live inside of you anymore
What this means to me
Is more than I know you believe
What I thought of you now
Has cost more that it should for me
What I thought was true before
Were lies I couldn't see
What I thought was beautiful
Is only memories
All the love in the world couldnt save you OR the innocence inside
1:47 Pitman synth , the Best part, not in the oficial release😢
Way better than the 2008 version.
This was different than the leaked version, it was crisper with less intro guitar that felt kinda intimate to the hardcore fan.
Amazing!!!
not all capes wear heroes
Ah, I see how the turns have tabled
Esta hermoso esa version sigue subiendo más demos del chinese democracy

I agree. The album cut reimnds me of a Queen track. This version is too busy foe my taste.
1:47 This version of the chorus is just so much better imo.
With all the many unnecessary changes and edits made to some of the tracks, the neutering of “the blues” was the most criminal for sure.

True. Stuff was recorded back in 1999 for the Chinese Democracy Sessions.

En vivo jaja increíble
3:48 Removed buckethead solo, dislike
I think this was recorded before Buckethead joined
Buckethead was spitting fire
Lift up the vocals a bit, maybe
defo better than final version

better than the 2008 version
I like it a lot but vocals are too low while sub bass is too loud, weird mix
Sounds like a fan made tbh
I think it a fan made and not an official. hopefully the official makes a remake with 2001 version
It is
This is an original early demo from about 1999-2000. The earlier live performances had the same layout and instrumental as well
It's a real 2000s demo from The Village Sessions, leaked in 2018 (cut intro version) In 2019 the full song leaked
@@rizkimaulana728 Even if it is fanmade, it sounds pretty damn accurate to how they played it back in 2001.
That guitar riff just before Axl starts singing is horrible... Sounds like a video game tune
yeah, sounds horrible... I love it
It's electronic and synthesized lol
This was the best part of the song.
Your opinion I get it
