I really enjoy playing the pokemon tcg nothing is better then a good pokemon card pack opening if the pokemon cards are worth money its even better. getting into a pokemon card battle is also fun. Of course playing the pokemon tcg is my forte! like how to build a pokemon deck and playing the pokemon tcg online is how I spend most of my evenings. Pokemon tcg tournament are also great and if you even need any help on how to play the pokemon tcg then let me know! Dont forget you can also open pokemon tcg pack online too! Ive never got to open packs with leonhart or randolph but hopefully will soon! Not pokemon vgc pokemon vgc online or pokemon tcg world championships. Building pokemon decks is very fun! watching other deck profiles and deck lists is very helpful

The XYBW supporter cards just had a feel to them that made them look so much better on average than the SM/SWSH/SV cards. It’s hard to explain.

@@BurtsPTCG I should have clarified that I meant the FULL ART XYBW supporters. Other than that, I like how the general style of trainers are from then,but the new ones feel a lot more streamlined and are a natural progression to the old style. I’d just like it if they could stick to a card style for more than a generation so my expanded decks can look consistent art-wise. I also hope that they keep the ex mechanic around for a while longer, as I think that’s the best rule box card type they’ve (re)introduced since GX’s.

I first played the TCG during the XY era while Trump Card was legal and it was absolutely miserable, one of the worst experiences ever going through match after match of getting destroyed by Seismitoad lock decks
I call it the dark ages personally cause it was dreadful 😭
@@BurtsPTCG Worst of all had to be that small stretch when Shaymin EX was legal alongside Trump Card and people could LITERALLY draw their entire deck on turn 1 at no consequence

Gardevoir ex from that same set could put a special type of counter on your opponents pokemon too.Those are the only two cards ever printed with specific counters for Poke-Powers, Bodies. or Ability. I personally loved gardie because the rare candy rule was different and you could play them on turn 1 and evolve pokemon that had just entered play that turn. You could start shutting things down turn 1 if you were lucky since evolving didn't get rid of the counter. Plus once you get two out you can use switch cards to drop 2 counter in 1 turn.

@@BurtsPTCG I can't remember if I was in Jrs. or Srs. when I was playing it but it was a lot of fun. The REALLY funny part now though is since it only shuts off bodies and powers is any time you play a cube that has it in there you have to ask if it hits abilities too since abilities were just brought in as a way of dumbing things down by combining bodies and powers.
Don’t forget Gardevoir ex delta (the one in Celebrations)! It had the Imprison marker that turned off Poke-Powers or Poke-Bodies from the target of the token!

I thought for most of the video that you were gonna talk about the person who made the lysandre cards, not about lysandre himself. Considering how broken he often is, it was probably the same guy.

It's funny how it took them that long to errata what was basically a renamed Gust of Wind from all the way in the Base Set. Funnier when you consider they did practically the same thing with Energy Removal, but way back in the e-Reader series.
Base set format was the wild wild west tho eh👀😂

@@TsukentoXTrainers we’re super op back then, but at the cost of Pokémon being super weak back then. OHKO was probably almost undoabke back then due to attacks not doing enough or costing too much. I never played back then, but from the looks of it Pokemon we’re so much weaker than they are now (and I’m not talking about powet creep, even from a percentage they’re weak. What I mean by this is dealing 50% damage seems pretty good back then, but definitely not good now lol)

okay, so i started by playing pokemon tcg for like 2 years then played yugioh for like 5 years and am now playing pokemon again and let me just say, i feel like lysandre (as in, play this card and switch pokemon. not like "if its a pokemon v switch it" or whatever) is one of the first steps toward moving pokemon into the 3 turn max game that yugioh has become. we can hit for insane damage turn one or two, we can force in mons that give more prizes. eventually it'll just turn into who can get the best combination of cards in their opening had rather than who plays the battle out better.
that said, there are ways around this if pokemon prints cards to counter such trainers like lysandre or bosses orders. so it's really up to how the devs want to balance the game imo.
I feel as if this was more of a problem a few formats ago (tag teams) cause mew is the only deck that can reliably boss turn 2 for a multi prize ko and that will rotate soon. But i agree if decks can power up fast it forces a lot faster games
@@BurtsPTCG that's absolutely valid because I didn't play during that time but from what I remember from just being an observant third party, being able to switch in whatever with an ADP on the field could end the game extremely quickly and I can't really think of anything that can do that now, solid point
@about7grams yeah adp was the worst culprit but eternarus, pikarom, combo Zacian all were t2 ko bandits 😂😭 if u get turn 2 boss ko'd now its cause ur opponent proper high rolled you 😭

From my perspective I like boss’s orders because it’s a supporter card but I hate counter catcher do to stall and control and some plays like counter catcher iono to small hand , which had either lost me some games or put me on risk of losing
Ive only played the first few sets thats on the gb tcg game but is a lot of newer pokemon cards genuinely just cards from that era then slap in "once per turn" or "flip a coin"?
I noticed the cards here are like Gust of Wind and Energy Removal lol
Cause without the coin flip in energy removals case or tne supporter stipulation in gust of winds those cards would be way to powerful since attackers these days do way more damage than back then 🤣😭 games would be over too quick if gust of wind existed now :(

This whole period is when I started to play Pokemon online. It was amazing and so agro. Once they rotated I stopped playing and just recently started again two days ago on live

I been playing duel links for about 5 years and you either have to spend a little bit of money or just get left behind and lose a lot alot of duels. I find Pokemon has always been much cheaper then magic the gathering/ yu gi oh. I have played all three and Pokemon has always been dear to me bc they don’t just want your money.

That is so strange to me. But I've started playing a few months ago and boss's orders is just there. But because it is a supporter, it generally is play at less than 4. Personally, I think it's a healthy card to have in a format. Hell, counter catcher should be as well.
But I wonder what the actual reasoning could be for BO to stifle evolution decks. Is it because of being able to pick apart engines on the board?

I liked this format tbh. Toxicroak / Wailord Trumpcard wasn't THAT bad. It could brick heavily and it was fun beating it.
The ADP (Arceus / Dialga / Palkia) Format with broken Zacian V was WAY worse. It ultimately made me quit the game after 15+ years and never came back since.

Banning the trump card was dumb. They could’ve just banned vs seeker & made trump a one per deck like a radiant & it would be fine. They should reprint it like that. I know everyone else will freak out at the thought, but it would be great.

Honestly I don't know why, but I feel the non trainer gust feels so much worse to play with and against.
The only real difference is that you can't do a supporter and the gust in the same turn due to them both being, supporters.
but fuck is it still brutal to "okay they play *get supporter effect* and win".
