You didn't present studies comparing microsurgical varicocelectomy (inguinal or subinguinal) vs embolization. This is not a completely objective point of view on the topic. However among other RUclips videos, describing both procedures, this is the best so far.
I’ve always had it as a teenager but never thought of searching what it is. Now I’m 28 years old & I finally looked it up. I believe I do have Varicocele. I can even see an enalrged vein below my left scrotum. I can see through it when I lift it up next to my skin. I’m getting a physical with my doctor next week. I’ve joined the facebook group!
I remember reading some time ago about varicocele also causing low testosterone and testosterone improved in the surgery group but not in the embolization group. Any comments about this or any new research?
Have you any experience with patients who use Finaesteride? I didn’t have any issues before I used this pill 2 weeks ago and now I’m wondering if my body cannot tolerate because of this. Do people take this surgery so they can use the medication without complications? Or is that not recommended
Is coil one of the best embolization type procedure as long as you dont have any complications? Ive heard coils has complication, i would like know them please, 15 yo, bilateral.
Inject contrast dye and watch the monitor for blood that flows backwards on the live X-ray (fluoroscopy). Boom, you found the reflux which causes the dilated veins!

is there any chance to lower the pain of being injected at the back in the spinalcord for local anesthesia? because i have a very low pain tolerance :(
I have a vein right on my right testicle that swells like a pen paste when I get up. This vein swells even harder when I touch it. is it varicocele or is it normal?
@@thegoodguy2419 This vein swelled after a blow. It doesn't hurt. What can I do to get rid of this vein at home? I prefer not to go to the doctor on this pandemic.
@@thegoodguy2419 is it normal to feel the vein on the testicle? It is not fixed, that is, it bites a little and I think it is on the vaginal tunic. This is how varicocele manifests or is it normal like that?
Are the coils permanent. I would rather do embolisation than surgery but I’m just worried about the coil being permanent. Considering I’m 17 what would happened to the coils when I’m 60😅
TheIRtist I’ve heard foam from sclerotherapy has much higher chances for testicular damage due to foam having higher chance to migrate to testicle and I don’t know if glue is an option in the U.K. and thanks for the reply and videos you make.
TheIRtist oh I skimmed watch this video and I’m going to watch it again when I have time. Thank you very much I thought it was only coil and foam but I’m going to ask my doctor again thanks.
TheIRtist This is exactly what I tell people all the time. Coils have a 5+ decade record of being safe. If you still have a fear of coils then just go with STS foam, sclerosing agents or glue. You don’t have to have an invasive surgery instead.
Coffin Dance one method is to place a coil at the bottom of the ISV prior to injecting the foam so that the foam has no chance of making it to the testicle.
@@ohheyalan123 I’m in the same position as coffin dance, but the pain is honestly so bad like as I’m typing I’m in pain, I am worried about being infertile and I don’t know about the coils either since I am also just 17, but would you recommend coil or foam, I haven’t consulted with my doctor but I’ve just been watching videos out of curiosity and also me being quite worried.

microsurgical varicocelectomy is very new, at the time of this comment it was just being introduced and still new for even varicose veins in the leg.

Sir I heard that there is a small chance for the coils to move towards the renal area and cause damage to kidney? Is that right?
