  • It took a few years longer to finish than we thought, but me, my two brothers, and my dad finished his 1940 barnfind farm pickup. We finally made this truck back into what it should be and made my dad super happy as well. The project was somewhat more challenging than it should have been, but despite the challenges we managed to finish the truck and made it into a very nice driver. Watch for this truck touring the roads of Texas with a dog and camper trailer in-tow.

I love that truck. You did a great job, keeping the original look, yet updating it, making it a pleasure to drive. It’s nice to be able to drive with the modern vehicles, keeping up with traffic and even more importantly, being able to stop quickly when needed. I hope you get a ton of enjoyment out of that beauty!

Very nicely done resto with smart/modern upgrades for reliablity & safety - - especially if you're gonna use, tow, and travel cross-country. Still a Ford in a Ford ... and "driveable" !

@dissrepair this story hits home! I’ve just inherited a 1945 ford pickup that is mid restoration.
My father and I used to tinker with it back when I was in mechanic school. I might need some insight. He just passed and I’m a little lost for direction.

Lost interest when I saw lazy choice for engine... flathead power only way to go should have used 50 mercury flatmotor
