- In this video, we take a look at Suzuki Baleno’s crash test rating report. The crash test was conducted by the Latin NCAP on a made-in-India Baleno. The hatchback scored a disappointing zero stars in the test. It must be noted that Latin NCAP currently uses a stricter protocol compared to the Global NCAP by giving assistance systems and pedestrian safety their due weightage.

Taking into account the daily numbers of death due to Motor Vehicle Accidents, the govt should make safety features mandatory in all vehicles plying on Indian roads. Leave people with less options when it comes to safety. Doing so will be a win-win to our ecosystem as safety doesn't come cheap, hence less vehicles.

He was driving and little bit of is attention diverted from road to music system, speed was around 50 kmph, There was a Maruti Swift Dezire stopped in the middle of road near divider. because of low visibility, tiago hit dezire from back. Dezire's rear Bumper does its job, absorbed whole impact, got damaged . Trunk of Dezire blown up with minimal damage. passenger sitting in rear of dezire got minor injuries.
Now my brother who was driving tiago, just got a pain in chest because of pressure from seat belt ( thanks to these ).
But here is a point " there was not a scratch at front of tiago, litrally no damage can be seen. oh wow what a build quality.
but think about what if there is another tiago at front but no Maruti Car. well in that case person in both car will get more injuries. leaving the bumper of cars intact from accident impact. So just because of Maruti Car, This Tiago doesnt get a scratch.
So the winner is the design which absorbs impact during an accident, this is the whole idea about designing bumpers and outer body of car.
remember under controllable speed all cars are safe.
May be Baleno can get 2 🌟 or 3 🌟 at GNCAP ...
If we compare Baleno / Swift / Wagon R with Altroz / Punch / Tiago -
Price is comparable
Suzuki has highly fuel efficient Four Cylinder Engine in compare to decent performing TATA 3 cylinder engine .
But In Rest of Segment Tata has clear Advantage
Tata Provide best saftey with latest Modern Day features & Interior Quality ..

Not just milage, the engine is much more refined, and will last more years than the Tata, without complaints. And in steep uphills, the 3 cylinders with struggle with maximum occupancy.. Ive seen altroz struggling..
But yeah it really sucks on crash tests.. So unless you are in a Tata, drive safe so that you dont ram a speeding lorry face to face, or from the sides in a junction🤭..

Maruti is using its HEART ATTACK PLATFORM everywhere. All new launches from Maruti have heartect platform which is a proven unsafe platform. So this company is not focusing on safety of passengers. Rather they are beting on mileage, cheap maintenance, better engine performance and gimmick features which are in clear demand in India.

@@RohitSharma-fe2bl I bought punch in 2021. It's performing perfectly fine. The horn had an issue last month but got that fixed. Suspension is great, i literally don't feel the effect any pot hole or speed breaker on road. Gives decent mileage in city and on highways. Overall I'm very happy with the car.

Sorry to say nissan magnite is also not safe Asean ncap is not as good as global ncap .Even 2018 maruti Swift scored 4 stars in ASEAN ncap

Why people are not considering built quality of the car rather electronic features.. if the built quality is poor body shell cannot withstand any damage.... so to be clear i do own balenk myself and i am not happy with built quality as per average is considered its the best ..

It is harsh truth that baleno's build is not that great but crtizing it on the basis of latin ncap score is not good if you are compairng that car with global nacap tested cars
Global nacap standards are much lower than latin ncap so baleno would maximum score 2 or 3 star in global ncap still it is not acceptable maruti cars needs drastic improvement in saftey aspecta
Mr Sanket overall 2 members of my family have been involved in the making of this car and also the heartech platform. I can safely assure that this isnt an unsafe car opposite to the popular belief. Well Latin ncap specified that the body shell is stable! Now check the body shell of 4 star rated tiago in gnacp. Thing is that most cars in Latin nacp will score around 0 to 2 as it's the strictest crash norm . Most ncaps focus more on the front on collisions rather side impact as most cars are safe in a side impact upto speed of 45 and 90 at max in frontal collision. Whereas latin focus on each and every aspect of the crash . Also from 2016 onwards every car has to undergo a compulsory govt test at 56 kmph a d qualify it then only a car can run on road . Hope it clears as I can explain this in the easiest way possible. P.S I belong to a family of automobile engineers with experience of working with many companies with likes of fiat(till 2015) , general motors etc.

I've tried to explain a few on few accident videos which some claimed "car experts" youtubers post judging quality on the basis of crumpling of cars bonnet or back side , but I got no success . Whole day i got plenty of abuses and replies by the supporters and since then I've left commenting. For majority heavy is safe . Also ncap crash tests are done at crushable aluminium at 64 kmph whereas a solid wall crash test is done at just 50 kmph. So that explains the designs and purpose of maruti cars ! If its looked at a minute level Suzuki has got an engineering marvel with hitting all targets of safety to driver pedestrians and even to the other colliding car with whole setup on a light weight platform giving it a superb pickup and mileage. Now tell me from which perspective heartech platform is unsafe . Yes I agree its designed for easy crumpling with a strong tensile steel frame . P.s 2 members of my family have been involved in the engineering of heartech platform.

@@sisirdk I am not saying, the evidence of zero stars for most of their popular A and B segment cars says so. Surprised that such low safety quality care are allowed by our regulations without explicit information/warning to customers. They didn't even use safer 3 point seat belts in some of their cheaper models till forced by regulations in 2019. What is important, a few thousand rupees cost cut or lives?
