@@carshowreporter Pam my first car was a 65 VW Squareback 1500S, gray market before they imported the Squareback and Fastback. My father in Sept 65 bought a new 66 Beetle. That is how my brother and I learned to drive.

If I remember correctly, the '65 Variant was 12v while the Beetle was still 6v. Your family had such a wide range of cars!!! From Cadillac to VW!!! How did you do with learning to handle the clutch?

@@carshowreporter Pam I don't remember if the Squareback was 12 volt vs 6 volt. But my dad's Beetle was 6 volt and the next year 67 was 12 volt. I learned to drive a stick quickly because my father was strict and didn't want him to holler if I stalled it. Plus at the shore it was flat, than in PA on Sundays when stores were closed we could practice starting going up hills. Good old Sunday blue laws!

Very good reason for learning quickly, Dave!!!!! I just looked up the voltage of the Type 3. It was 6 volts. VW switched over the full line to 12v in '67.

Yes, I noticed the pot holders. Lol Thanks.
Many things you show, I find interesting.
Especially pre 1975-ish. It’s hard to say.
From advertising to hood ornaments and badges.
I’m not shopping for anything these days, but love looking.
      You make it fun
