      Thanks for watching. The sport can be as expensive as you want it to be. Lots to see from shore in most coastal areas, travel and boat rides are awesome but a luxury. Definitely a treat when they happen!

      Good to know! I find there is a certain point where my mask leaks. A little more and I'm good and a little less and I'm good. I was leaking on the first dive, it's annoying aha.

    Great video! Do you have any tips on increasing your down time and diving deeper?

    • @PNWSamson
      @PNWSamson  4 месяца назад +1

      It's all about relaxation. Laying on the surface motionless and calming your body for 2-3 minutes before you dive. The more relaxed you are, the longer your breath holds will be. Also stretching makes a big difference too. Best option is to get certified if you go to depth. They go over all the safety protocols and all that. Definitely some risk involved with freediving if you don't understand what happens to your body when you hold your breath and dive.

    Hey heads up, dfo has clarified cabezon are sculpins and illegal to take with spear.

    • @AquaticMonkey
      @AquaticMonkey 4 месяца назад +1

      that's one of those stupid rules with no rationalization, limit for a rod is still 8 per day though

    • @eliastorheiden821

      I agree completely, but just because the law is stupid doesnt mean we dont get in trouble. Stay safe out there guys.

    • @PNWSamson
      @PNWSamson  4 месяца назад +1

      Hmm, I responded to this but it didn't post.
      They clarify that Cabezon are sculpin but not that they are illegal to spear. They probably did that so people don't think it's a free for all, even though they should have a limit of 1-3 in my opinion.
      If you look under the "it's unlaw too" page they don't mention it being illegal to spearfish Cabezon, that's what I go off.
      I've been spearfishing them openly for years and the DFO hasn't called it out for it. I believe it's an oversight and that's how I treat it. I do appreciate the concern though, cheers!
