It's funny that I am actually looking forward to the plastic version more than this version. I think they missed the mark without releasing all the different variants at the same time. But you know, let's make the most we can from these first, I guess
I just want a normally priced wired 8K Hz Viper Mini. I loved the Viper 8K and Viper Mini. But I personally couldn’t care less about wireless and am not trying to spend $280.
Your reviews are great. You are interested in these products and give us good insight into them. Keep rocking it man. I hope your subs go up. I think 189.99 was my line in the sand for a mouse with finalmouse and I had QC issues with almost every copy. This is just nuts now.
This is exactly why I’ve been getting tons of orders for modded viper mini wireless mice. People are pissed for a good reason.. You can spend less than half of what Razer released to get the same thing basically but with the original design and not obnoxious holes. I don’t blame ‘em, smh Razer. Great review brotha, keep it up
Imagine making a mouse with massive holes that is heavier than the 47g Ninjutso Sora that is larger, fully shelled, cheaper, has similar QC and is from a much smaller company without the resources of Razer. Just goes to show how hyper competitive this industry has become.
Putting all the other issues aside, I think people are making too much of a big deal out of the weight. Its not the lightest but 49/50g is already extremely light, and i believe razer said they were more focus on build quality.
@@Billy_The_Frog oh don’t get me wrong. I think 49g is totally fine for the mouse. I just think 49g with no holes would have been a far more compelling justification for $279.99
@@Billy_The_Frog I personally disagree the Ninjutso Sora and Lamzu Atlantis have near identical QC while being light. As for the weight, yes 49g would be ok if this was any other mouse. But considering how much Razer was hyping up this mouse and how absolutely gigantic those holes are bigger than any other mouse I've seen and the fact that there are larger mice with lower weights, yeah not that good of a look.
Too bad the Sora feels like shit in the hand compared to the Viper V2 Pro or even a GPX (buddy who's a collector has a sora, sadly it creaks slightly and the clicks feel....off. not mushy but wiggly-ish(?)). I haven't owned too many mice but I'd rather get an Atlantis Mini.
Just a reminder. You can get a Lamzu Atlantis, Pulsar x2 AND an XM2we for the same price if not a little cheaper than this. i know the product isnt about value, but that doesnt make it any better if its not absolute mega premium.
My hands are 20x10, the Viper Mini shape definitely isn't for everyone. I don't feel the holes on my SE due to my grip but the main issue with the shape itself is that it's slightly too long. I much prefer the SL-Small shape and thankfully I was finally able to do the Razer 4K mod. IMO, its having the best of both worlds, FM magnesium shell (shape) and Razer wireless tech (and optical switches). The SE is just a collector's piece at this point with happens to have horrible Q/C.
Just an update, I'm actually maining the SE now. I just didn't give enough time to adjust to it, after using it for a bit the mouse wheel tension is now PERFECT. The clicks are just as good as day 1, I highly recommend giving it another chance! Also recently it got 8k polling, it was in the works for a while and am glad to see it finally.
This mouse is a cash grab gimmick and was NEVER anything more. By the way the best scroll wheel I have ever used, is on the Steelseries Aerox 5 Wireless
Hey, small hands user here. My Viper Signature Edition is within first 300 numbers. Wonder what's your number? There's no noticeable wobble on Mouse 4 and 5 on my piece, though they are really easy to misclick when grabbing the mouse. I actually love the magnesium body - it's always a bit colder to the touch, much different than plastic shells. It's just matter of preference but a noticeable one to me. No side movement on main mouse buttons here. Only one issue I really have is with probably mouse firmware. It doesn't always notice I've powered off my PC and the mouse stays awake at times, e.g. through the night. So in the morning the mouse is dead and I have to charge it. Good thing is just 10 minutes brings her back to like 30%. For now I reported this issue to Razer and I remember to check the USB receiver for indicator light whether it's off or on, after I turn off my PC. As to the comfort - I got rather average or even small hands as for adult male :) Death Adder makes my palm go to sleep with the very comfortable fit. I've been using Viper Ultimate for quite some time and I've loved the grip, though it was still allowing me to grip the mouse in more "lazy" palm grip way, and I wasn't that focused in competitive FPS titles. Here it seems this model forces me for that claw grip, gives me one millisecond better reaction time, lol. I've been using it less than a week now, just few days. It was 320 euro here in EU with taxes. Got free shipping as "razer member", though. At times the mouse feels too light and too small, but that's usually during office work rather than when gaming, when I am focused on my grip. It will definitely take some time to get used to. Going back to the build quality - I've had to replace my two Viper Ultimate black mouses as the main mouse buttons were wobbling and giving that squeaky sound. Third one was Viper Ultimate Mercury bought directly from Razer online store and the quality was far superior to black edition. Viper Mini Signature - at least my model after few days - feels really well manufactured. Scroll is aluminium and it works awesome. It requires more force than Viper Ultimate and ticks on every up/down movement but that gives that extra control. It's nice for example in Warzone when it was sometimes too easy to double the weapon change on Viper Ultimate. Main mouse buttons are quite loud. It's not a problem playing or working in a separated office room but something to definitely watch on if playing with someone else around. Might become annoying for any third parties. I can definitely hear the clicks loud in open back headphones. Doesn't annoy me though. But I am used to clicky sounds - I replaced switch plate on my keyboard to a brass one, so I guess the noise doesn't bother me or I even like it. Cheers!
I’d try it if it were $200. The shape doesn’t seem like something I’d love though, the FM Medium shape does not work at all for me, so I’m doubtful I’d like a Viper Mini. Maybe. I’m not going to frivolously buy the original Viper Mini just to try it though, it seems wasteful.
Definitely just pick up the Viper Mini when it goes on sale for $19 (it goes on sale frequently). That’s what I did and I ended up maining it for about a year until I got the Viper 8K. And I also have many other mice that are easily 5x+ the cost that I decided not to use over the Viper Mini. I don’t think it’s a waste at all to just try it out. Maybe if you don’t like it just use it to upgrade some other mouse setup at work or on another PC.
@@lizardpeter I agree that it’s totally worth a try for anyone at $20, however I really can’t deal with high LOD cuz I lift the mouse so much. I also have way too many mice already, I think that the Starlight Small shape is almost unbeatable to me. However, the prospect of the flawless wireless experience plus premium parts is always tempting. Finalmouse products have given me so much trouble and I’d like to settle on something that doesn’t have a scroll wheel failure in 6 months.
@@nyororomeowelas1225 Yep. I’ve had a bunch of FinalMouse mice and I’ll never buy one again. They have horrible QC and all of the mice end up failing. Plus I don’t like the limited availability. That’s why I really don’t like what Razer has done this time around.

I adored the original Viper Mini shape but the poor sensor and cable held it back from being my main. I have fairly small hands at 17.7cm X 10cm and on top of that I am left-handed, I recognize that I am in the minority but I love this mouse. On top of that the 4KHz and optical switches make a big difference to me it is immediately obvious when I switch back and forth in games like Valorant or OW my bullets simply come out noticeably faster and the added smoothness of 4KHz on a 360Hz display is noticeable compared to 1KHz but it is hard to spot.
