Amazing rendition by all the kids.. and Pavani as well. Huge fan of her voice ( vande guruparamparam renditions). Yeah like some one said, her voice was strained and since her choice of ragas were close I was thinking she might get low scores. But this scores should be good to take her to semis. I really wish that to happen. All the best

தயவுசெய்து தமிழில் பேச முயற்சி செய்யவும். நடுவர்கள் சற்று சிரமமாக இருந்தாலும் முயற்சி செய்தால்தான் இளம் வயதினருக்கு தமிழ் பழகும்.
மேலும் ஆங்கிலம் இக்காலத்தில் எல்லோருக்கும் சர்வசாதாரணம். தமிழ் தான் ததிங்கிணதோம். அதனால் யோசிக்கவும். நன்றி
There could be non Tamil rasikas. Or even non Tamil speaking contestants. What's wrong with English being used for communication?
Carnatic music is sung and enjoyed worldwide by other non Tamil speaking people. Most of the kritis are in telugu, for that matter. Dasara padas are in kannada. So obviously tamil here is quite difficult to understand for other contestants from other regions/states/countries. There is nothing wrong with using english for this platform to garner the attention of all language rasikas.
Paavani needs to watch out her sounds. Her voice seems to be shouting and not pleasant on ears.
Thank you for the advice to my daughter madam. Paavani had a programme the previous day at another city and just flew in taking a 4 am flight for this event...she was tired but tried to put in her best efforts. We will keep your suggestions in mind. Thank you. Namaste
@ Geetha Devarajan I beg to differ. Not sure if you’ve heard Pavani Cotah sing before. If not I’d suggest checking out Kuldeep Pai”s channel. Open mouth bold singer with clear pronunciation is Pavani”s style. I’m sure your preference is for soft voice. That’s not Pavani. Her strength is her high range and ability to sustain. I’m a fan of Pavani and have been following her for a few years but I’m not saying this because I’m her fan. My point is that every child has a unique voice culture. Music teachers know how to groom. The rest of us have to be careful about what advice we give and how it will impact the kids development. That’s my humble request to you especially when it comes to children.

And it's not mandatory for a CM singer to know Tamil. Whether we like it or not, English is the common language for communication. Live with it.
