    I definitely agree that the Tudors are not too thick, but the "slab sided" comments are made about the older Black Bay cases. The new Monochrome and the Burgundy share the same slimmer case and most agree it is an improvement. I wear a lot of thick watches where the bulk is noticeable while wearing, but my "slab sided" BB Pepsi GMT is so comfortable I never think about how thick it is. When I look down at it I can't help think how good it looks. I have the Burgundy 41 as well.

      Yeah I have some thick boys in the collection as well, my Fifty Fathoms and my Pelagos don’t wear or feel as thick as they are on paper but when I point out the dimensions it’s just slightly smaller than the Sub. Just weird seeing so many comments about it being a huge watch and it’s really not. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    while i dont think this watch is too thick, what irks me is that they've crammed a movement with a gmt and date function into a 12.8mm case. that means they already have the tech to insert a time only metas movement into the bb58's 11.8mm case.
    will be waiting for a bb58 monochrome, even though this 41mm case fits me nicely.

    • @CorkKNIFE
      @CorkKNIFE 5 месяцев назад +2

      There is no challenge to getting a slimmer case, even cheap Sub copies do it. They are clearly handicapping Tudor to give big brother Submariner some objective wins.

    I feel Rolex has become a shell of itself. When I bought my first 16610 in the early 2000s they were a tool to wear and enjoy as you beat it up and it went on its journey through life with you.
    Tudor has now filled that space with Rolex becoming a sterile watch flipper / flex piece devoid of soul and personality. Just my opinion

  • @5ivebanger
    @5ivebanger 5 месяцев назад +6

    From someone who daily’s a BB Pro, this obsession on Tudor case size is overblown and played out. Now my only dilemma is whether or not to keep my Pelagos 39 or get rid of it. Because I have to have the Monochrome, and I worry it’s too similar to the Pelagos 39. Two modern-styled Tudor dive watches may be too much for one collection.

      I definitely agree with you, the obsession is out of hand. I would say the Pelly and this one would compete for wrist time. But try it on and decide from there, they are still two quite different watches.

    Thank you, I think you're the first person to actually point out DIAL SIZE vs just case size. The dial real estate is what matters, so many watches have wide bezels that make the watch dial smaller than most non dive 38-39mm watches.

  • @sstanforddpt
    @sstanforddpt 5 месяцев назад +7

    I personally only care about the case side thickness (and the case back if it raises the watch annoyingly).
    Dont care much about the crystal thickness as it does not make me feel the watch is chunkier or top heavy.
    But Tudor watches in general are all to thick. Heck my hunky Tag Aquaracer w/ETA is only 12mm. These are thick as chronographs and most dont even have a date.

    • @DavidSchwartzjr

    "Too big" if you have dainty small wrists. Size is proportional, as is the size of the watch to the arm wearing it. If you have a sub 7 inch wrist and you are complaining that a watch is too big... That sounds like a problem with your wrist... Not the watch.

  • @jwags24
    @jwags24 5 месяцев назад +5

    But isn't the sapphire crystal boxed so the movement could be raised and sit higher in the case? So you couldn't use a flat sapphire crystal if you wanted to.

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  5 месяцев назад +1

      Interesting, I will have to look at the watch under macro/loupe and see if that’s the case. It makes sense that would be a legitimate reason for the boxed crystal

      @@DavidSchwartzjr I'd like to hear your thoughts when you do! Also, if it is true then the design still works because it would provide the "illusion" of thinness. So many watches wear different than their specs say. This watch is a great example.

  • @RabbitWatchShop
    @RabbitWatchShop 5 месяцев назад +2

    Last year, I was positively receptive of the new BB41 burgundy master chronometer. The case lost some much needed weight. The crown became more refined. The movement was upgraded. Overall, it’s a beast of a watch, and if I could swing watches over 40mm - something I know I can’t do from experience - I would have got the watch.
    You made some valid points in defense of the new BB41s. Kudos 👏

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  5 месяцев назад +1

      Man, sorry to hear that the 40mm limit is a deal breaker, and I know lug height is a bit concern for some wrist sizes too. But I definitely believe you, if it wasn’t going to work out it’s not worth having buyers remorse over it. I’m pretty sure a 38/39mm will be in the works with this movement and similar specs! Thanks for checking out my vid! 😎🙌

Problems: 1) most yourube reviewers seem to have tiny size wrists , bet their manhood will look massive , literally those kids watches with mickey mouse hands going round the dial will too big on them. 2) they go on diameter the worst least helpful of all measurements ( thickness, shape and lug to lug is better) on a watch.
