    Like Lalah I am a contralto . These days there's more opportunity to create and be seen/heard but it's also a crowded, noisy world with short attention spans. In order to be noticed, stay relevant, and keep people interested you gotta hustle. Even if you got a record deal you have to market yourself cuz they sure aren't doing it for you no more.
    There are artists who actually have come out to say that they feel compelled to churn out social media stuff nearly every day and it actually burns them out and of course their main complaint is that they aren't really creating, it takes time/energy/effort AWAY from their art 😢.
    Maybe the other reason for such a dynamic maybe they don't have the 'stuff' per se but they did a viral indie song or two on tik tok or whatever but they keep posting on social media to get that validation that they are good and appreciated and feel wanted and all that
