Flash is less like her original counterpart, and more like the Wally west flash AKA the best flash. Overall, i like it, with superman being the most meh. I would love to see these characters returned, renamed, and actually used.
Funny thing: the Velcro company is desperately trying to keep the name from becoming generic. They even have a section on their website insisting the Velcro name cannot be used for non-Velcro products.
Why is the "SUPERMAN! [specific bit]" always hilarious? I love it so much pfffff. Still, this was a nice comic! I like this version of the JLA a lot, even if they're not official and just have these comics for them. I feel like I could grow fond of Flash's bad attempts at humor, too, I'm just like that.
The Green Lantern's reaction to the exploding car reminds me of that moment from Sam and Max: Hit the Road. Sam: (holding time bomb) Max, where should I put this so it doesn't hurt anybody we know or care about? Max: Out the window, Sam, there's nobody but strangers out there Sam: (tosses the bomb out the office window and a thundering explosion is heard) Hope there was nobody on that bus Max: Nobody we know at least.
Yeaaaah, the Flash seems to have gotten the short stick character-wise here -- those jokes are really just kinda painful. But it's certainly an interesting outing, and I do like the twists and turns the story takes along the way! Especially with even the World-Tree getting in on the action, defeating one villain through the power of peace and love. Nice!
part of the issue with flash is the lingo. Stan was unfamiliar with it so he decided to create his own. He aware that kids have their own lingo but in his day it was daddy O and such.
So the inspiration for Phase One of the MCU was these books, introduced each hero in a solo adventure then team them up to stop the underlying threat built up in each story.
Despite what others think of these just imagine if Stan Lee created DC I think they have been really interesting concepts and some of them are even pretty good.

I remember the series. Interesting take and some of them are used in the DC Multiverse(s) Or variations thereof. It was fun seeing how THE comic book mind would go about building his own team from the story blueprints for the charachter. Different enough to be interesting. Just similar enough to work as a reimagined version that we will recognize. Like it or not as you please, but thank goodness we have it.
This Batman is actually inspired by, and shares a name with, a guy called Wayne Williams, and in both cases they were accused of very serious crimes by the police and insisted they were innocent. Unfortunately the actual Wayne Williams was accused of the Atlanta Child Murders and he was guilty as sin, and is a notorious serial killer. Stan chose poorly.
Alternatively, it could be potentially related to Dr. Sam Shepard who was also the inspiration for The Fugitive who after his incarceration for a crime he didn't (supposedly) commit ALSO became a Professional Wrestler.

You know, after watching Justice League 1x16-17, 'Legends', I can't help but see a similar tone and premise Stan Lee's Justice League has with the Justice Guild of America in that two parter. The idea of the Justice League meeting a parallel counterpart of themselves, seeing how different yet similar they are, and the tragedy of how short their time as heroes was before they came to an end.

Ok small critique it took me three times listening to the Opening to understand that the flash didn't kill her self with a time travel device, the villain killed herself with a time travel device.
God bless Stan Lee. For all of his faults and foibles when it comes to writing modern comics, you gotta love all the eccentricity and energy he puts into writing his stuff. Sure, some of the dialogue is weird and/or uses outdated terms, but you can't fault him for making interesting ideas. I mean, I personally would've NEVER considered making Batman a masked wrestler of all things! That's just how creative that man was. RIP Stan Lee. Overall, i like it, with superman being the most meh. I would love to see these characters returned, renamed, and actually used.
i mean their dc character and DC did create th china justice leage so they could totally vision the Stan lee presents verse
I'd joke, but Flash in this version would totally be for making Justice League NFTs.
7:36 that isn't block buster!
That's the amazing bulk!
That movie is a massive struggle to watch
Okay but Just Imagine Wonder Womans design is so good, I so want an action figure of her
Heck yes!
14:47 "lex... You've had a rough day. Still i could at least learn the flashes secret identity... I have no idea who this is."
I've been waiting for this one since you started reviewing these Just Imagine comics~
'i brought you all here to annihilate each other. ...in retrospect, im not very intelligent am i?'
The Green Lantern's reaction to the exploding car reminds me of that moment from Sam and Max: Hit the Road.
Sam: (holding time bomb) Max, where should I put this so it doesn't hurt anybody we know or care about?
Max: Out the window, Sam, there's nobody but strangers out there
Sam: (tosses the bomb out the office window and a thundering explosion is heard) Hope there was nobody on that bus
Max: Nobody we know at least.
18:53 Ranagar? As in Rann/Thanagar? Very clever there Stan
Stan Lees version of Linkara looks like a Ultimate Warrior. 👻👽
So the inspiration for Phase One of the MCU was these books, introduced each hero in a solo adventure then team them up to stop the underlying threat built up in each story.
Despite what others think of these just imagine if Stan Lee created DC I think they have been really interesting concepts and some of them are even pretty good.
Just imagine Stan lee creating the justice league sounds very weird but tons of fun.
0:48 ironic 7:04 I am sad this is the doom patrol of this universe. not weird enough
14:55 Play the clip from Justice League Unlimited where Lex Luthor tried to unmask Flash while Luthor was in his body, and his reaction was "I have no idea who this one is"
I remember the series.
It’s possible that’s a coincidence
Alternatively, it could be potentially related to Dr. Sam Shepard who was also the inspiration for The Fugitive who after his incarceration for a crime he didn't (supposedly) commit ALSO became a Professional Wrestler.
It's been so long since I had time to watch AT4W that the intro has changed again! XD
I fricken love this show.
I actually would trust Stan Lee's vision of the Justice League over Zack Snyder any day
For one I have yet to see Snyder’s Superman focus on the space program and help us set up James Webb telescope
Stan Lee's vision might not have been that great but at least it was fun, and not a colorless, depressing slog.
@@BronzeBoy520 after he snaps a dude's neck and screams about it
Well Snyder’s actually turned out pretty good in the end. So not as bad a comparison as it once was.
@@benwasserman8223 jury is still out, it was fine but still rather self-indulgent with his beliefs, Linkara did a good job explaining why Snyder's Vision doesn't work but if you like it more power to you that's great.
I love Stan Lee but based on these characters, when writing this he goes into his secret identity, "On-the-nose Man"
Yooooooooooo Batman gettin the Button Press!
At this point i be surprised if people didn't think he created Captain Planet
I mean between Stan Lee and Ted Turner’s mustaches it’s pretty indistinguishable.
17:27
Of course he's no ordinary kid!
He's Be- wait... He has a pendant, not a watch... Nevermind
Well, as long as that Superman game Lois was talking about doesn't involve most of the time flying through rings, it'd be a step up. 😉 Also, Death Stroke, he was one eyed, and purple, but too bad he didn't have one horn or was flying. 😂 Anyways, thank you, Linkara, did enjoy this video.
Well, that was a lot of fun^^ I always love seeing how Stan Lee reimagined these characters. New versions of the classic fascinate me.
Me listening to Lewis talk about the background of and on Stan Lee's DC Superheroes but being a fan and nerd of his series, I remembered it all XD
I am recovering from covid and this is making me feel much better! thank you!🤗
Get well soon!!
I love that Stan's Superman hates being here. Flash's design was one of my favorites
So just imagine Shazam that one has the potential of so many jokes
5:08 Um, Kingpin, you’re in the wrong crossover. The one you’re looking for is the Perez version.
"Rub the Nipples of Justice," still has me laughing
You know, after watching Justice League 1x16-17, 'Legends', I can't help but see a similar tone and premise Stan Lee's Justice League has with the Justice Guild of America in that two parter. The idea of the Justice League meeting a parallel counterpart of themselves, seeing how different yet similar they are, and the tragedy of how short their time as heroes was before they came to an end.
5:49 - 5:55 Oh, great, now Stan Lee is interpretating Kingpin in the DC universe.
Wilson Fisk/Brock Smith: "YOU EMBARRASSED ME IN FRONT OF HER!!"
18:45 I know "Strange" feels like a weird name, but it's a real-life last name. For example, there was a famous golfer named Curtis Strange. I've got the German version of that name as my last name, so I'm somewhat familiar with it. There's a list of Stranges at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strange_(surname).
Notice that for the just imagine by Stan Lee, there are a lot more magic /mysticism based heroes than tech or alien.
Lois Lane: “Think of the endorsements! TV shows, movies, and games!
Just wait, Superman; You’re going to get the best game on Nintendo 64!”
so funny thing is the eary beta game was much, much better but executive medeling forced them to cut back features, basically DC/WB made 64 terrible because they basically pulled a "batman doesnt go down on women" and insisted "superman woun' hurt civilians" same sortaoversite placed DC vs mortal combat "heroes dont have fatalities"
It was fun but I'd like to see how Stan Lee would have written JLA and it's member's the way they actually are.
I like the title card. I think this is the first one Vvega did with a large number of characters on it and it works very well. Now I'm really excited for Event Comics Month, since if any of the events are big enough we could get a title card featuring other characters with Linkara like 90s Kid, Harvey, Poyo, and so on.
Also, Chew? Man, they will name a comic after anything these days. LOL.
While runbish and subjects will never ryhme, id like to say the line "he has his own space ship but he is always on his couch" is ine a strongly enjoy and brings a smile to my face every time i hear it.
Ok small critique it took me three times listening to the Opening to understand that the flash didn't kill her self with a time travel device, the villain killed herself with a time travel device.
I like the idea of the father/son villains. You could probably have some pretty good megatron/starscream plots going on.
May your legend live on in both your fans and other writers.
Now I want Linkara to do an El Santo comic review, if there are any in English.
Your snark was on point in this one. Your jokes kept taking me by surprise.
Alot of people shit on his version, but I really like how simple an pure they are. Just good guys being good for same of it
10:24 Looks more like a Bradley Microvision, one of the many forgotten early gaming devices alongside the Nintendo Color/Computer TV-Game series and Sega SG-1000, Sega SC-3000, Sega SG-1000 II and Sega Mark III.
12:50 "We could get you a cartridge on one of those Game Boy things. It would even use all eight buttons."
As long as it's better than the 64-bit game...... and, really, I don't see it being much worse.
15:18 "Hey, Lady, there's all kinds of defeats. There's the kind where you're down for the count. But there's also a first-round knockdown - - - - where you get up again an' start whuppin' some major butt. Me, I go with that kind."
So he's saying "He gets knocked down, but he gets up again. You're never gonna keep him down."?
Chew, huh?
I marathonned that back at my previous library. It's...an interesting read.
I hope the issues you got requested have Poyo in them!
Actually, this version of Wonder Woman reminds me a bit of Witchblade. Look it up to see what I'm talking about if you don't already know.
And speaking of Witchblade, you should get to that Linkara. It's fairly good.
Thank you.
another fantastic review
Honestly, I mistook Block Buster for Kingpin for a moment.
16:22 - 16:27 & 16:43 - 16:48 Still better than the jokes Whedon wrote for The Flash about brunch, gorilla sign language, or accidentally motor boating Wonder Woman.
I love this comic series, because it makes Stan the only DC writer to appear in Teen Titans Go to the Movies), and the first to appear in the series overall (counting the movie in the grander scheme). He beat Marv and George by a couple years!
So happy to see your client return, Linkara! X)
Heh, the big purple hulk guy reminds me of the Imbraggable Kronk from the Justice Friends...I want a Justice Friends reboot
23:09 Which is why the canon JLA has a satellite base: No property taxes in the void of space (yet, not for a lack of trying by whoever the governor of California was in 2001 (I know I live there but I don't pay attention and I was 14 at the time anyway)).
Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised if the Hall of Justice (and Avengers Tower and Manor for that matter) was tax-exempt anyway.
Trapped in my apartment due to The winter storm that has hit Indiana. Great to see a new episode.
Wow this comic despite some problems is still better
