its definintely NOT. seen him do lots of live perfomances where he sounds just as good but obviously changes parts and you can definitely tell hes really singing it.

bc this is a live performance on a major national tv show, which a band only gets so many of. In the post MTV era this would be their major tv exposure. you want to represent your actual band to the audience and not have 3 guitarists standing there when your band has 2 guitarists. the other option would be to put him way in the back visually to show that he wasn't a regular. but that would look even weirder onscreen, tho it works fine in concert.
