- 'Aunty Data' of Wakenaam supported Guyana’s Peoples Progressive Party (PPP) until the last Local Government Election (LGE), June 2023. Since that time she has been fighting for a portion of her transported property not to become a public road. The 77-year-old grandmother says she will keep fighting for what is right on the island of Wakenaam. She recently spoke out against her victimization by the PPP-led administration.
The president needs to go there and look into that old lady problem I think she telling the truth

I am positive that she has a transport and it should show the dimensions of her property and she has a legal right on the ownership of her property. Take it up with the President. I am sure he will settle it. Fairness will win.

Something puzzled me… if she bought the property in 1959, it means she was 12 years old! As far as I know, a minor cannot enter into a legal transaction. Her maths is not mathsing!
she may not have bought the land in 1959. The date 1959 on the transport refers to the date on which the area PLAN or the master survey was drawn. That date and plan number will continue to appear on any transport, even if it was issued today. Hope this clears your confusion.
