Alex, I can’t express my gratitude enough for this video. I stumbled upon your RUclips channel today, and it has truly been a game-changer for me. As a newbie to Resolve, I used to spend endless hours on each project, doing the same tasks repeatedly. However, the knowledge I gained from your video has significantly boosted my productivity. Your straightforward teaching style is refreshing, and I believe you deserve millions of subscribers. After watching this video, I immediately hit the ‘like’ button, subscribed, and now I’m leaving this comment. Keep up the fantastic work! 👍 By the way, I plan to watch all 264 videos of your Resolve tutorial playlist! 😊
Great video, Alex. I do exactly this for my paid work (although my personal projects are a total free-for-all) - so much time saved and most importantly, I have consistency across their channel episodes! Every project I complete, I tweak my preset project with new ways to get their stuff done quickly. Multiple tracks for each model of camera they use so I can easily copy/paste attributes. I have multiple sets of tracks for Epidemic stems that each submix to a bus. I have sidechains to duck the music during dialogue. I can concentrate on the edit, rather than repetitive administration! Thanks again. 😎
Thank you. This video will be so useful for people learning how to organize their projects in a simple and efficient manner. It's going to save so much time.
Yet another great video Alex. I am new to Davinci and I have learned so much about editing and using Davinci in the last few weeks from you, it is amazing! This will be helpful. I will have two very distinct channels. Having a template for each will be a big time saver. Thanks for your contribution to the community.
This just gets better and better! Just upgraded to Studio and am now starting from scratch everything I’ve already done (not trashing any completed projects though). I’m excited because this is helping me get organized and have good habits from the beginning. Thank you for your dedication and CLEAR explanations! You rock!
I have more than 25 years of experience in video edting, but I still love learning and keep myself uptodate as much as possible! Now I have a question for you. In your opinion which one of this is helping a video editor to save more time? DRB vs DRT vs DRP? And if it depends, it depends on what and what is your preference from 1 to 3?
mate, you have no idea how much hassle this saved me. i was really intimidated to start working with resolve because it looked so difficult but setting this up made it so much easier and made me more confident and genuinely excited to start working with resolve. thank you.
Thank you for this. Take it from someone just starting out and trying to learn DaVinci to edit his videos... You are making the learning curve much less intimidating. These tutorials are a God-send. Keep up the great work, Alex.
Holy crap, this is a gamechanger for me. I've been doing things the hard way for a WHILE now. This is gonna save me so much time. :D Thank you so much for this video!
Mr Alex - Your presentations use-to have all the things what others' presentations use-to have but your way / style is charmimg and it makes your presentations special. It tempts me to see it over and over until understood 😀
Yes! I have been searching for how to achieve uniformity across my videos. As a Marketer, brand standards are a big deal to me. And now I can maintain those without tearing my hair out!
I have been using timeline templates and the power bins. This is even better. I now have a template for my virtual dojo videos, used for creating tutorials for my students, and another for my spotlight videos, used for highlight videos for tournaments and demonstration. Before I was importing 2 or 3 timelines to the project. Not that importing takes long. Now they're all there and I just have to import my footage and start editing.
Thank you so much, MrAlexTech, for sharing these amazing tutorials! Your clear explanations and detailed steps make learning so much easier and enjoyable. I really appreciate the effort you put into creating informative and engaging content. Keep up the great work!
New to youtube but my channel is growing quicker than I expected, leading to me making videos more frequently and the editing was becoming Abit much. BUT you've juts made my whole process so much less stressful WOW!!!
I hate myself for not discovering DaVinci a decade ago. I love how you can save time by organizing stuff with your presets and templates alone. Thanks dude for this well made content. PS I'm still annoyed that the shortcut for the cutting tool is not "S".
Love this Alex!! Please do a throrough DVR 18 tutorial (course)with Fusion included, I luv your accent and the speed at which you explain things. No fillers of pre-amble just concise, to the point and you make learning fun and allow my ADD brain to be tamed long enough to become focused to learn for a good hour. I have all your content captured and organized into subjects/tools and sub-headings. You should release a " master series" as it will be HOT. I know you like to share & teach as well.
Hey Alex, thanks a lot for this tutorial! Quick question: I have set up a Folder Preset, but most of them are empty. For example the folder called "Footage" where I will import new clips depending on each new project. The problem is that when I save the BINS with the .drb file and open it up, the EMPTY bins disappear and I'm left with only bins that have clips in them. Is there a way to retain all folders regardless if they have stuff in them or not? Thanks!
Thank you so much Alex. I'm so glad, that I found this, since I just started my channel and thought: There must be an easy way, to create/use templates in DaVinci. Awesome, thanks!!
This is exactly what I needed to help improve my workflow. I really wish there was an easier way to drop an effect, edit said effect, and overwrite or save that effect as a NEW effect, and still have it in the "Effects" tab, rather than having to go into Fusion and save the .settings file... it's such a hassle. This is perfect for now, and it sped up my editing abilities. Another thing I found out is that you can open any project you already have going, and then open up this .drp file, and it will drop the Bins into said file to save you the hassle of having to restart a project!
This is a double-edged sword. I let DR open the last project - but when I want to start with a "template" stored as a bin, it opens the project and adds the bin there - even with the same name. Not what I want. I expected a blank project with the bin. But yeah, it is a neat way how to add prepared stuff to the project.
As a new user of Davinci this has been probably the most useful video I’ve seen so far! I had something similar in FCPX but it’s not as elaborate as this! This will save me so much time!!! THANK YOU!!!
Thanks Alex, that was a great video. I wish I found this earlier as it would have saved me so much time. However, it certainly will from now and I've set one up for my Drone workflows etc. Really great piece of content.
I just cannot thank you enough for this video ...❤ Would have loved to shake your hand in Berlin at the Blackmagic event. Unfortunately, I cannot be there.
Thanks, this information is greatly appreciated. You just saved me a bunch of time. You even answered a question I was seeking an answer for. Very informative. Thanks again!
Awesome video, had no idea this could be done. Thank you for your easy to understand walk through tutorials, I'm learning so much from you as a beginner in Davinci. You are a great teacher.
This is going to save me sooo much time editing the podcast episodes. And it ensure consistency across all the episodes on the channel. Your a legend!!
Alex, Having found your channel by accident I would like to say a big thank you for all your channel content which has helped me out so much with my learning process for DaVinci Resolve. Your videos are so helpful, explained clearly and at a pace nearly anyone could understand (including old me🙂). I subscribed from the first video I watched. I have found other channels but I found that some of them which I no longer subscribe to, do provide good content but found them to rush through everything not giving time for people to understand. But the way you explain things so clearly and at a good pace this makes you and your channel one of the great ones! Thank you so much for all your hard work you put in to providing great content, you're an absolute credit to the RUclips and DaVinci Resolve community!
Another fantastic time saver! Thanks for this. I’ve recently switched from Premiere and trying to find the best way to organize my weekly podcast edits. This was spot on.
Your videos are so great and useful! Whenever I need to learn anything about Davinci software I always always come back to your videos! Keep up the great work 🤗
Great, just what I was looking for. I am a member of a video editors association here in the Netherlands and we also make tutorials of various editing programs. I had some project presets in Edius but besides Edius I also used DaVinci Resolve and want to make the same presets for that. And now thanks to you I can now make these for DaVinci Resolve. Thank you.
Thanks Mate, this is a great way to start projects, by having the the same set up every time, ... for an old black country kid like me.... its a great help ... cheers buddy
And another great video by Alex! Thank you very much - this one just made my workflow much MUCH easier. I really enjoy your videos and the things I learn. Basically all my knowledge about DVR was provided by you! Thank you, again!
