  • I am so tired of superhero movies. Wake me up when the Barbie movie hits theaters.

A superhero film (or superhero movie) is a film that focuses on the actions of superheroes. Superheroes are individuals who possess superhuman abilities and are dedicated to protecting the public. These films typically feature action, adventure, fantasy, or science fiction elements. The first film of a particular character often focuses on the hero's origin story. The first film also frequently introduces the hero's nemesis. (See also: supervillain or archnemesis.)
Many superhero films are based on superhero comics. By contrast, films such as the Ultraman, Kamen Rider and Super Sentai franchises, the RoboCop series, The Meteor Man, the Unbreakable film series, Hancock, Darkman and They Call Me Jeeg, were made original for the screen. While The Green Hornet is based primarily on the original radio series and its 1960s television adaptation, both Underdog and The Powerpuff Girls are based on animated television series. Anime superhero films are based on manga and television shows.
The highest grossing superhero film franchises (according to the box office income) since 1967 are Tsuburaya Productions' Ultra Series, Toei Company's Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, New Line Cinema's Blade, 20th Century Fox's X-Men, Sony Pictures' Spider-Man trilogy directed by Sam Raimi and the Amazing Spider-Man duology directed by Marc Webb, Pixar's The Incredibles, Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). On its own, the superhero film has become a popular genre of film, earning over $28 billion dollars for Marvel alone.

I'm not tired of Superheroes, but I am tired of mid superhero movies.

Some people I know straight up don't want any superhero movies. I'm tired of MID and AWFUL superhero movies. I think superhero apathy is more in-line with how I feel about them too, and that's sort of where I'm at with Star Wars as well.

THANK YOU for putting what I was thinking into words. Superhero fatigue isn’t a thing. Turns out people just want quality.

I wasn’t a big MCU fan, but I do enjoy most of their films. Though lately I’m just not invested in the larger universe/continuity storyline thing. I enjoy stories with personal stakes more, and yet I’m excited for Spider-Man : Across the Spiderverse.

Here's the thing... Superhero Fatigue is a myth because it assumes that all superheroes are the same and all superhero stories are the same.... they aren't. The superhero as a concept is... INCREDIBLY nebulous. What defines a superhero is a hero having extraordinary or superhuman abilities who fights evil... that is a VERY broad definition that can apply to a LOT of characters who aren't even considered superheroes.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier is definitely the worst option you could've picked of Marvel's first wave of shows, but I doubt seeing the others would've made a difference. Feeling very similar myself. Great video!

I, the last defender of Ant-Man and the Wasp, whose youth was dominated by the MCU since I saw Iron Man on my dad's DVD copy when I was five years old and then sat that fateful Thursday night to see Steve Rogers get his dance in 2019, have not seen anything Marvel since Love & Thunder- which I also have not seen.

I've found that since the second saga began, I'm only invested in Dr. Strange, Blade, and Thunderbolts (optimistically). The tv shows have been pretty good, but I'm not invested in most of the films.

Now I don't care much for superhero movies anymore. When I was a child I was a fan of Tobby McGuire's Spiderman, but now my tastes have changed. The only superhero movie I like right now is the animated movie "SpiderMan Into The Spiderverse" and Spider-Ham is my favorite character, by the way. P.S.: And... Sorry if what I'm going to say has nothing to do with this comment or the video, but... eeeee... uuuu... seriously... I feel like I have a crush on your fursona, really... His appearance and personality attract me, really, and I want to date him someday and know him and also making him know me, of course. Sorry if I'm acting like a 19 years-old hopeless romantic male craving for a boyfriend. Sorry if I'm kinda a weirdo. Well, good night from Lima, Peru, bye.
