How I Really Feel About Jeremy Fragrance

  • Hey friends, the other day I was referred to a video Jeremy did and thought I should pop this out there. I always loved Jeremy's channel back before I started my own and loved his excitement in those earlier videos. To be totally fair here, I don't really know Jeremy at all on a personal level. All I know is what I see, what I hear, and the tiny bit of time I've spoken to him. As always thanks for watching and shout out to JF.

    Jeremy is BURNED OUT. He was putting out 3-7 videos EVERYDAY on various social media platforms. When it's no longer a love and moreso business, that changes everything. Everything changed after he hit 1 million subscribers and had to keep having his face out there and more content is needed to keep that momentum, then you use all your video ideas up in a year then you have to resort to shock video content to keep the same buzz and channel growth and view time. He's always been the hardest working fragrance reviewer, it's just now quantity over quality

    What you did in this video is one of the reasons I watch your channel and became a subscriber several yrs ago. I felt that you’re a decent human being and this video is proof of that. What is it with people that they can’t accept someone for who he or she is. If you don’t enjoy watching his/her channel, stop watching it but don’t be mean.
    When I was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer in May 2020 I wanted to start a RUclips channel to educate women as ovarian cancer is called the silent killer. I started watching him around late 2015 maybe the beginning of 2016 and he was absolutely amazing.
    The fragrance youtubers before him we're making 25 minute videos going over I bottle of fragrance. They didn't seem really enthusiastic about it. Jeremy was a fresh breeze that really caused me to get more into and excited for fragrances. His camera work and editing was new and different for the time. Everything just clicked. He made more list than anyone before I think and that was really cool and unique in early 2016.
    Somewhere around 2019 or so, he seemed to start getting less enthusiastic and more erratic. By then there were many new frag reviewers now in YT. I started checking out many others. By 2021 it seemed that Jeremy was more a d d and erratic than ever. Finally, in the last year their are so many shorts and uploads per day, there is no way I can keep up with him. I hope as you do Ash, that he gets back more like his earlier videos were. Oh, and my, how he loved YSL Lanuit D'Lomme! He definitely influenced me to get that one years ago and it was worth it.

    Greetings! I'm relatively new to the fragrance community, having started less than two years ago. I guess I'm what you'd call a lurker, but will step out of my box for this. As a relatively newbie, I see a lot of collaborative videos that take place amongst fragrance influences and contributors here on YT. In fact, as someone looking from the outside in, this is one of the aspects I've really enjoyed about the community. This type of comradery has actually made the "Fragrance Community" feel like a community. I hope that I'm not that naïve and that my perceived respect that the fragrance YT contributors have for one another is genuine.
    Before I get back to the comfort of my lurking I'd like to say thank you for all your efforts, and those of your spouse, that really make this channel a source of information and fun.

    I think Jeremy is quite simply moving upwards and onwards. How long can one be enthused about doing fragrance reviews? He talks often about his next fragrance creation, starting a fragrance store and maybe heading a huge business related to fragrances. I imagine it would be difficult to make entertaining RUclips videos and do all that too. I guess we all have to make sacrifices somewhere when our goals and objectives change. We cant achieve everything without sacrificing something we simply don't have enough time and energy.

I can't speak much for Jeremy, I've watched his videos sure and I respect what he does, even though apparently he's changed over time. • @Kenoji8
    @Kenoji8 2 года назад

    I think I talked about this, but I'm not sure it was on your channel Ash, but I've also been around a long time (like you); I've seen a lot of stuff in the community since about 2016, I'd say, and Jeremy was the main one to kind of get me into fragrance when I was first curious about what else was out in the fragrance industry (both him and Kevin Samuels got me started, really) and I loved his passion, accent, and so much about how excited he was and genuinely happy just to share information. He also changed the format of most YT frag creators that had already been on here, making his videos shorter and more to the point and attractive, so people could quickly get information and learn.
    But once his success got high enough, I think the thing that really got him the most hate was when he decided to start creating his own fragrance and brand...because apart from John Pegg (who left YT to start his brand, Kerosene) no one was really doing that...and for him to have such success and to say, "Hey, I can make my own brand," that set a lot of people off for some reason. People got extremely jealous, especially when he announced that he was working with Alberto Morillas. At the same time, though, I believe that this decision launched a lot ideas for other YT creators to start their brands too, so I think Jeremy single-handedly started that whole movement. And once he started seeing the results and reception to his fragrances (mainly the harsh reviews of his scents), I think he just cracked. Sure he has had relative success with the brand and good support, but all of the fame, the lashing out of him and the brand, the stress to perform and succeed...all of that broke him down...and whereas he was once this charismatic guy full of life and vigor, the pressures of the world and of negative people have beat him up so much, and it is hard to see where he is versus what he originally strived for: just being a passionate guy that loved to look good and smell even better.

    Good Morning. This particular video got me to subscribe to anything (re) Social Media in my life. I appreciated it specifically because I did view this particular person a couple times. I thought this guy Jeremy was ostentatious. I originally just wanted to see and/or hear opinions about my everyday "Go To" since '84 ; Drakkar. I was down to my last bottle. Complimented yet again the other day, "what are you wearing, you smell good". This scent is timeless. I ventured on, and found your channel, watched many an episode. I almost subscribed from a previous episode (re) Corporation Temptation "Buy you off" to say things that they want to hear, rather what you prefer, and/or choose to say.. I got the sense that it would be difficult for you to look in the mirror everyday and justify yourself. So, I wish to Thank You, for I am a man with few material assets that you have not forgotten about.

    Thoughtful, insightful, authentic, revealing. Thanks for sharing, Ash. When I first encountered Jeremy’s content, he was very different from others. He still is. I stopped engaging him for a couple of years because I found his behavior and persona a bit disturbing. Honestly, I wondered if he needed help. Just in the past year, I’ve begun watching his shorts and while I admire his breadth of frag familiarity, I’ve decided his “brand” isn’t really what I seek. Also, sad but expected to hear about relationship dynamics among frag content providers. I think relationships may be more easily had with between providers who have different brands. Chaos, for example, focuses on designers and is sometimes brazenly ageist. Perhaps someone more sophisticated with a niche focus may form a useful relationship with him, especially if they are under 30. Anyhow, thanks for this. Keep up the good work and I appreciate not only the breadth and diversity of your content but I really like the fact you don’t use nasty language to describe non-GenZ viewers.
