Still not a fan of turning Batgirl into a hipster look-alike. Love the Aquaman and Green Arrow redesigns though; facial hair tends to look good on superheroes.
Of course they added the New 52 Batgirl because they have to pretend that the revamped suits were good designs.
I really like Jamie Reyes' Blue Beetle design.
yall need to cancel TTGo cause that show sucks and bring back Young Justice
Knightikhan Why would they cancel it? it is one of their most watched TV shows just because you and possibly many others doesn't like it automatically means it should be cancelled right away. and young justice is not coming never has a cancelled DC cartoon been brought back
I don't like the show either, but it does bring kids into comic book stores to read comics. If it gets them read, then I say keep the show on. I will watch the OG version on DVD.
KON- EL Personally, I don't like it but I don't think they have to cancel it. I just think they should do more stuff for older viewers.
Back when they had DC Nation on I always felt they should have done a follow up show called DC Nation Jr for "Teen Titans: Go" and shows like that and leave DC Nation for the older viewers with "Young Justice" and maybe rotate in and out "Beware the Batman" (which I liked) and "Green Lantern" (which I also liked). Hell, add another show and mix and match the four of them with each other and create another show like "Teen Titans Go" and have them on their own show.
If Cartoon Network didn't want it then hey Warner Brothers has their own network for crying out loud and could use that.

Toy sales was one little thing. That was because girls weren't buying the toys, even the though they had nothing for the girls. The viewer ship was the reason. Since moving it from Friday night to Saturday morning, viewership went down dramatically.
The old Batgirl outfit was 10x better, the new one looks like some teenage bs and the comics were a lot less interesting after the rework as well, so much so that iv'e stopped buying Batgirl all together.
Animal man's jacket is not leather it's denim. He would never wear leather because he's the environmentalist superhero.

The new batgirl look is pure crap, she looks less like a superhero and more like a hipster cosplaying as a comic character.
As well hearing the reason he made her like that, so cosplayers would be able to make her costume easier, just made it more crap

I don't get a mention I use to wear nothing but a Superman T-shirt and jeans for over 8 years I really needed my New 52 redesign

+SuperShanko My favorite has to be the Arkham Knight version, which I use in my Justice League fanfictions. It fits better with his personality, I think.
Yeah the look of the Flash(Barry) is so timeless that every medium he appears on he wears Wally's suit or an amalgamation of Wally's suits.

I would have added Azreal Knightfall Batman's costume, Robin's costume, Nightwing's costume, Superboy's costume, and Green Lantern's costume redesign - from Alan Scott's weird multicolored costume to Hal Jordan's almost all green costume.
I liked Aqualad's redesign the best. They made him look cool and tough and so glad DC decided to diverisfy him by making him Black. He's one of the few heroes I wanted to see in the new 52.
DemonGroceryStore He wasn't redesigned the Garth version of aqualad simply became tempest the one your talking about is the Jackson hyde version and he didn't exactly do much in the comics he just appeared in the brightest day storyline which was his origin basically and that was about it
KON- EL All I know is Aqualad was lame and forgettable before and now thanks to Brightest day and Young Justice he's cool and awesome. And we'd all love to see more characters like him, with character.

Agree with every #, except catwoman's skin-tight purple outfit which is better IMO

my favorite design of mr freeze (just appearance, not backstory) is the version in The Batman
Courtney Whitmore and Jaime Reyes are far better then there predecessors.

I agree with your Top 10 DC Redesign List, but Gil Kane's The Atom reboot deserves an honorable mention, as does Greg Rucka's The Question reconfiguration. Still, the constant reinvention James Robinson brought to the Golden Age characters in his Starman title; which materially led to the relaunch of the entire Justice Society of America; remains to the Multiverse what Alan Moore's Swamp Thing was to Neil Gaiman's The Sandman: absolutely essential!
Starman deserves some more attention, especially the Thom Kallor version
the original flash did not wear blue jeans, they are just blue pants.

Now the Green Arrow thing kind made me lauf . Its not that long ago that I read Kevin Smiths run on the Comic . And there is a scene where Batman comments on the arrow Cave , car and plane etc with the words : Didnt you have any original ideas . But now a days I am Reading some older green arrow . I am Reading the old Mike Grell stuff ( the time Oliver lived in Seattle) . Last issue I read was issue 12 ( involving Shado) . I like it so far 😊.
If it's any other character whether you know their jacket is leather or not matters little, but for Animal Man, it's very important (That's his schtick...him being an advocate of animal rights and all)... How can the writers of this thing not know that?

As someone who has been a fan of Batgirl since her creation in the 1960s, and who has enjoyed all of her exploits, I really disliked the reboot this past year that made her a "cartoon"teenage figure like an Archie character. It was just an awful decision. Gail Simone worked hard to create a dynamic figure with a supporting cast, including her deranged brother, her previous paralysis from the Joker, tension between her and her dad, challenges with her boyfriend, a great roommate character - and now, all of that is gone for an Archie-girl. I dropped the book when the transition happened. Bring back the intelligent Batgirl, please. You can always create another young, female bat character (like Bluebird) and make them "cartoony." - To change Batgirl from an intelligent adult to a ditzy teenager in the middle of "Batman Eternal" was another thing that didn't make sense. Bring back the intelligent Barbara Gordon please.

Honestly i like each and every originall concept of the classic looks i like the originall blue beetle and the originall aquaman more then the whole cave man look, but i will say out of all the costume updates superman today on the comic books especially in the movies, mabey its the fact that i enjoyed the memorys of superman in the 70To late 80 especiall the super powers version of it and when chrisyopher reeves played it to me those where the good old times,and supermans look in the new man of steel movie iam not to crazy of the fusion dark red the dimed down gothic blue rather then the collorfull baby blue , and the combination of the blue red and yellow now its different who still loves the super power era.
Peter David's Aquaman look is awful, and goes against what the character stands for. He's not a savage, he's a peace loving hero.
***** "peace loving", erm I'm not sure about that. He's a king. He has morals but he's not so strict about not killing his enemy as superman or batman. He is a semi savage but with honor, I think it's a perfect design imo.
Concon Aquaman's entire struggle is to unite the surface world and Atlantis, it's his entire reason for being a hero.

Yes that is true but you make him sound like superman. He has a savagery side to him. If force is required to get the solution he will not hesitate. I don't think a peace loving hero would lock his brother away on the surface world without mercy.
Concon Exactly, if required, but that's not what he's all about. He locked his brother away for the sake of peace and felt terrible about it.Also sounding like Superman is not a bad thing, nor is it inaccurate.

It's not a bad thing but there is a distinct difference. The thing is he locked he brother away on the surface world which is the harshest thing that he could have done to him because it wasn't even his fault. I think if it was superman he would have done it differently.

Best redesign imo is and always will be Kyle Rayner from green lantern to ion back to green to white. But ion is the best

There are so many redesigns with her, I think it would be hard to pick just one. I like the Bruce Timm version the best.

Some redesigns are for the best, but on the other hand some are timeless. I may be beating a dead horse but that's another problem with the New 52, besides Jason Todd just about every redesign is inferior to the pre-New 52 designs. The problem was a lot of them are over stylized unnecessarily and for some reason have an armor look going on why!? Is that for practicality? Who cares it's a comic book where people run through time and can blow away galaxies with a sneeze it doesn't always have to believable just make it enjoyable. Even the really good designs still aren't on par with the originals. I guess this is the next step but I'm still gonna miss classics, especially Superman & Green Arrow. Keep in mind this is just my opinion if you don't agree that's fine we all think differently.

You're right, I think Jim Lee was channeling WAY too much of his 90's era Wildstorm coming up with those redesigns for the new 52...99% of them were garbage.

Animal Man's jacket isn't leather, he chose not to wear animal skins. He's all about animal rights and is even vegetarian.
My picks: *Superboy - New 52*, Wonder Woman (that time she wore dark pants and that leather jacket, issue 600 I believe)

Fuckball McGee it actually was armor(I say was because he actually lost it recently and got some what of a new costume) and no superman probably could not survive a supernova at least not up close it would most likely either kill him or seriously hurt him. and what's so bad about ravens look she is finally no longer wearing a leotard anymore and before you say its because of the dumb helmet and how she cant see through it she actually can think of it like a predator helmet only in her case she uses it to sense emotions instead of heat signatures sort of how the black lanterns did during the blackest night
KON- EL I like the Injustice superman outcit that the good superman has in the story mode because It is like his New Eafthcostume plus his New 52 costume put together minus the trunks.

I don't know I still like Starman (Will Payton) the best. Probably because he was the first character's title I got all the way from the start to the unfortunate ending.
I also will always like Ted Kord best. No slight to the new kid, he's good too, but Ted was the Blue Beetle I knew and will always love the most.
Zein Alfurati Well, I'm partial to one Starman in particular: Starman V AKA Will Payton. His was the first series I started from issue one and followed all the way to the end without fail.
Now, I hated that awful black suit (black is not a color of a character based on light and heat) but I liked the character, he was very down to Earth and real especially for the mid to late 80's, and his series was actually fun as he learned his powers.
Hate what became of him later with the discovery that wasn't really Will Payton but a copy and the real one died when the solar energy hit him, when Eclipso 'killed' him and what came later. I'd love to seem HIM back again.
Wait wait wait, the guy who made star girl did it based on his own sister? What is he doing drawing sexy drawing on his own sister?

Been a DC comic fan for over 20 years. Not much a fan of the hipster Batgirl. I miss Oracle... and Stephanie Brown Batgirl. One thing I'm happy about with Convergence... Able to see the classic DC that I so sorely miss....
No Shazam? Cap. Marvel’s suit stayed unchanged for 1940 back in Whiz comics all the way up till the new52 reboot in 2013, that’s 73 years without changing!

I'f Ted Kord still had a comic book I would have subscribed to Blue Beatle I don't like the newer Blue Beatle especially the look of that newer Blue Beetle.
