Wood Ducks Fledged 2024

14 baby wood ducks left the nest box and followed mom into the woods and canals behind our house. Initially, two hens were laying in this nest, so some of the eggs did not hatch. This happens every year. A normal brood is 12-13. The hen incubates the eggs for 30 days, typically leaving the nest for 1-2 hours each day. They leave the nest one day after hatching. I was controlling the PTZ camera with my cell phone so it's not so smooth at the end.
