I did the same thing going to Hollywood back in the 80's and get all the latest vinyl records at Tower Records, Ron's Records and Prime Cuts in West Hollywood came home with a shit load of records. Now I have 4 crates of records locked up in Storage. Greatest Decade Ever!

Oh My God! I used to go to Circus Disco in Hollywood, Ca. They would crank up this song and their laser light show was incredible. It was a three ring laser light show on the ceiling of the club. They would crank the bass up on the dance floor and the wooden floors would shake. Man! the people would go crazy it was like being at a World Series. The lines to get into the club was so long. You needed a club card so you would not have to wait in line. But it is closed now. But they sure made BANK after I believe 30 years.
In the 80's, the U.K. had great Duo's, Yaz, Pet Shop Boys, Soft Cell, and fantastic Groups like Depeche Mode, English Beat, New Order, The Smiths, The Clash, and so many more. Oh! and my favorite Spandau Ballet and to this day SADE!!!
Frickin amazing!!! I was probably naught but a lad when this originally came out in the early 80's; five years old or so. So I was probably too young to appreciate such groundbreaking music or Vince and Alison's tallents for that matter , but I wish I was back there right now when pop music was so vibrant and varied.

For some reason, Electronic Dance/Club music, started to go completely off the rails from 1998 onwards...Apart from a few rare exceptions, the music (?) that is churned out, by those who consider themselves to be musicians, is just generic sounding shite with zero creativity and appeal. The one D.J/Producer, who tries to keep it `Old School`, is Calvin Harris who does manage to release some decent tunes that sound as if he has taken more than 5 minutes, to create and produce the track...Cheers Mongo.

Back then there were plenty underground clubs in Southern California and the Dj's would play Disco, New Wave, Punk and Ska. I used to work for a clothing store in Downtown Los Angeles called the Factory back then. We had a Dj who played all the music while customers would shop. Boy! we made BANK! we had the trendy 80's clothing at that time. Miss those days. Fun Times!!
