I remember the 80s well, couldn't wait for that decade to end, fashion-wise & music-wise, though there were a few gems. 1982 produced the most beautiful ballad ever I heard, 'Baby Come To Me' by Austin/Ingram. There are other 80s tunes I like, but it really is a short list. Even shittier than the bulk of 80s music is today's autotuned garbage. The dial on my radio has been set to ClassicalFM since 2006, plus I have my personal music library.....

This song has a distinct 80's vibe, but I can't recall hearing it before this year.
Because it’s what is known as “euro trash”. The music is fine but without being based in Britain or the US you end up with “torturous lyrics” which are obviously not a native English artist. They just sound “a little off”
There were quite a few German French and Italian songs that wouldn’t be able to sell one record in the UK but the “Western Europeans” would be dancing like lunatics “singing along” unaware that the lyrics are like an awkward translation.
One example is Sandra. A German singer that sung in English.
Massive in Germany and Known in France. She made a dozen English records but know English speakers know who the hell she is and the songs all sound “a little off”
Her only hit outside non English speaking countries was when she sung in “French” on a song by Enigma.
Apparently she “outsold Madonna” at one point, with catchy song titles like
“I’ll never be Maria Magdelana” “don’t be aggressive” and “Hiroshima”.
Only in Germany 😂
