I have seen other people would burry a part of the good stem(s) remained under the soil and the new roots will grow. That way you don't need to throw out the whole plant.

Yes, that is another way to combat these terrible pests. I’m exploring that option as well in some of the winter squash

Do you use the same dilution for injection as for spraying? I injected 1ml, undiluted, last night. Not sure if it was too strong.

I did dilute yes. Tell me how your plants do

Will do. Thanks for the videos! Hate these buggers, missed it till yesterday cause I was totally concentrated on the squash bugs and their offspring and eggs.

Yeah squash are so difficult! Haha! They would be the easiest thing to grow though if it weren’t for the pests

      How to dilute? What ratio??

@@susanbaker6564 I did not dilute last week. This week I used 5 parts water to 1 part BT. I'm not seeing anymore borers, however it's back to the squash bugs who are taking over at this point.

Is BT safe for the vegetables? Can we eat the produce after treating the plant with BT?

The directions say 1-4 days after application depending on the veggies. I think it’s safe. It’s a bacteria that only effects specific bugs. Apparently it doesn’t even bother bees. However I am not a scientist or know a ton about this so, I’m just going off what I’ve read. Do some research on it to make sure you feel comfortable with it.

From what I understand BT is safe for humans and pets. Sevin is toxic to "bad" bugs but will also kill beneficial insects and bees.
