    About a minute into your video my indecisive self went to your amazon link and purchased it. Thats all i needed to see to be pleased with my decision. The rest of your video was all things I'll soon look forward to. Thanks for a great review. Glad to support your channel as well.

      It’s a great monitor for its use and I like it. I’m still using it when docked on the workstation. Hope you enjoy too. Thanks for your support.

      @@RickyCheung how did you get the screen to match the color/resolution of your Mac? Mines a little lighter then my mac 20 pro. Hdr mode just lowers the brightness. Just don't want my projects to look different from one device to the next

    • @RickyCheung

      The HDR is not true HDR on this monitor, I won’t use that. As for color matching I get it as close as I can. I deliver in sRGB so I stick to that profile and tune with a calibrater if you need but mine from the factory is very close.

      I guess they upgraded their lineup. Happens all the time. Maybe shoot for a 4K Mini LED. Link updated with a newer model. Thanks.

    Thanks for the video Ricky. If I rotate the monitor it doesn‘t rotate the screen. MacBook Air M1. Idea?

    Good evening Ricky Cheung
    First thing. Happy New Years and all the best in 2023. Good health the most. I am in the market to buy a gaming monitor. Would this monitor be good for PS5 consoles? Thank in advance and thank you for making videos like these. You Rock ! And please share any recommendations on gaming monitors. Thanks 😇

      Thank you sir. I don’t game all too much these days but if you play the intense games that take advantage of 120-144hz refresh rate I’d go that route. I don’t know anything specific because again I don’t game serious enough to warrant something like that. If I’d have to guess perhaps an Alienware monitor from Dell, I believe those are geared towards gaming.

      It’s a great monitor for colors and the display is beautiful. I’ve played some Xbox on it most games don’t need more than 60hz refresh so it plays just fine and looks sharp as hell. Most 4K displays don’t do fast refresh, 60hz is common and if they do I believe they get really expensive.

    Do you know the difference between this model and the Innocn 27B4U?

    • @RickyCheung
      @RickyCheung  2 года назад

      Grant sorry for the delay. I reached out to Innocn regarding your question and they told me it’s not available yet but they say the difference is wireless. I have no idea moving forward but sounds interesting.

      Thanks Vince. It’s a Samdi Riser. Link in the description and I highly recommended it if you are looking a wooden riser that’s clean and simple. If you use the link, I’d appreciate the support. Doesn’t cost you more but helps out the channel. Thanks again.

    4k monitors have been cheap and available for 10 years now, where have you been my guy?

    • @RickyCheung
      @RickyCheung  2 года назад

      They have been I know I have been living under a rock but I also didn't have a machine powerful enough at the time to run 4k. I'm not rockin' a M1 MacBook Pro and yea I would love a 5K display now. lol

  • @keithofthesea

    i just got this monitor, and noticed my M1 MBP doesn't go to sleep when connected to USB-C. I noticed your monitor went to sleep there, but in clamshell mode. Did you happen to change any settings within the monitor that would affect this? Lots of those options are pretty ambiguous.

    • @RickyCheung
      @RickyCheung  2 года назад

      Sleep mode has always been tricky even with my Apple Thunderbolt Display. Mine however does sleep, I’m connected via an Anker dock to usb-c.

    Sounds like this is the monitor I would have gotten if I had it over to choose a budget 4k again! Thanks for the review!
    Right now, I have a Samsung UR55 - Do you know anything about this one? All in all, specs are similar, but only 90% DCI-P3. :=( In your opinion, do you think I could improve the color coverage with calibration?

    • @RickyCheung
      @RickyCheung  2 года назад

      There are too many monitors to choose from today, it's cool to use what you have. I don't know much about the Samsung UR55 but I think you do get a lot of value from the Innocn. I think what you'll get form it is the USB hub and ports if specs are the same. I feel like calibration can only go so far, it will tweak the colors to you'll lose some from the other side of the color spectrum. Always good to start with good panel. Best of luck.

    I got this monitor recently for work and watching videos. For normal tasks with bright screen, it looks good. However, while watching movies in a dark setting, I can see light from the bottom edge corners (sometimes affecting the scene) which is quite distracting. I have tried to sit far away (around 3m) in front of the screen, but still could notice it. Have you also experienced something similar?

    • @RickyCheung
      @RickyCheung  2 года назад +1

      Hmm. I actually never watched movies in the dark to notice light bleed, I do edit my films and just watch but not in super dark environments in the studio. I will try this with lights out and let you know if I see bleeding.

    • @Rocky_KO
      @Rocky_KO 2 года назад +1

      You have either IPS glow or backlight bleed. Every monitor will have varying degrees of each one (sample variation). IPS monitors are not good for dark room movie watching like this monitor.

    • @sunilkumarmaurya4126
      @sunilkumarmaurya4126 2 года назад

      @@Rocky_KO Thanks for the reply. You are right, I think I was experiencing IPS bleed. I have started watching movies with some lights on. Though after few days, even in darker setting, I do not experience IPS bleed as bad as first few times.

    • @Rocky_KO
      @Rocky_KO 2 года назад

      @@sunilkumarmaurya4126 IPS glow will look smooth and gradual while backlight bleed will look more uneven and streaky coming from the edges. It's possible that the panel warmed up and settled the adhesive so it's better. Recommendations are putting lights behind the monitor if it's close to a wall or a light bar on top.
