More videos like this please. It would be great to watch you walk us through monitor calibrations for both sRGB and REC709. Also some monitor recommendations would have been great in this video. Thanks for all you do!
You didn’t specifically say x is not good contrast vs y is a contrast as you did with monitor size, I’m not sure what’s not acceptable for contrast, brightness, etc. I’d also appreciate some clarity or just a lil more depth to each topic. Thanks for availing yourself to passing on such important knowledge, it’s GREATLY appreciated.
Great video as always. Even some of the monitors that claim 10bit it's actually 8bit + FRC (essentially 2bit dithering of an 8bit signal) your video card and, OS can make a big difference here too, MacOs (pre M1 at least, unsure about M1 MacOs) for example will only allow an output to a monitor of 8bit + frc, not true 10bit. (discovered when signal analysis was done on the signal coming from the devices). HDCP is actually for content protection, it's not about bandwidth (although often a monitor with a newer HDCP standard will also conform to the higher displayport and hdmi standards as well) For distance from monitor, I usually use double the diagonal length of the monitor. Really helpful guide as always, keep it up man!
I was really hoping you were going to go a bit more in-depth with each topic. Still a great video touching on the main things to look for in a monitor. Just in time since I’m looking for a new monitor to pair with my M1 Max.
Hey Qazi, thanks for all you videos man! One question, do you think tue apple pro display xdr is worth it ro buy new? Thinking of picking oneup soon.... Thanks again!
Thanks for the content! Regardless of cost, would you consider using an Apple Studio Display 27 for color correction and grading? Or do you highly recommend other monitors?
Perhaps it is already in reactions below but HDCP (4 min in video)has nothing to do with bandwith of signal (fast output. This has to do with content protection.
Do you have any tips on how to connect these color calibrated monitors to a MacBook Pro? We bought an FSI DM211 and there are no directions or best practices on how to add it to our color grading set up. Thanks!
Hi Waqas, Boy autocorrect is confused by your name. I’m an industry post pro, 30 years in editorial and am just now learning resolve, adding to my arsenal. I’m about to purchase 2 new displays to use for editing, VFX work and (it’s time) to learn to grade. I realize color science and the art of color for storytelling will come with time and experience. They are the ASUS ProArt Display 27” 1440P Professional Monitor (PA278CGV) - IPS, QHD (2560 x 1440), 144Hz, 95% DCI-P3, ΔE < 2, Calman Verified. 1000:1, HDR support. These are running about $350. Is this a worthwhile display to start with? I’ll eventually upgrade my client monitor to something I can properly calibrate. Thanks.
Mostly I confuse about brightness, when I am grading I think I have a good color with the brightness of my monitor, but when I post on instagram the brightness is broken
Really nice tutorial. I knew everything of that already, but thanks for the video, so I know that I did everything right. I bought a Monitor a few days ago and realized that I did everything right. But what's the difference between static contrast and dynamic contrast. Because my new monitor has 1.000:1 static and 10.000.000:1 dynamic
i would have been nice to give a few recommendations, from the budget side and pro side.
Waqas, please recommend some models, that will fit the criteria you have talked about, from budget ,Prosumer, PRO

Agreed, would like another video on this topic in more detail, Insightful video regardless!
What are some of your preferred brands?

Great info. If we could get some monitor recommendations for different budgets, that’d be great!
Great Tutorial. May we consider Eizo 247x (24.1") for film grade? (98% DCI, 400 cd/m, Contrast ratio-1500:1)
This is an excellent piece of information condensed in 7 mins.. Superb Qazi, thank you so much for sharing :-)
I have edited myself into movies and TV shows using some of your advice, tips and tricks so thanks!!!

Thanks Qazi for great video, Panel Information not covered in this video. Is it not important? Anyone can help on this?
I have a Samsung monitor, which is ultra HD 4k. I'm not sure how to set it to.gamma 2.4 for my color grading.
“Work hard, get obsessed, get possessed“ - love this!
What Oled are you using? and how are you connecting it to your computer? Great content as always.
I need one on photo editing needs, especially Adobe RGB color space, sharpness, and resolution.
Thanks for the vid. Does 10 bit mean 1.07 billion colours?
Your courses is it also for première pro users ?

Hi Qazi This is great! But what about thunderbolt 3 as a monitor input? (in and out beeing Thunderbolt 3) I this not good?
Nice video! I have some question, is it good idea too buy not very big oled tv to use it like main monitor instead of my low budget ips display?
Really nice tutorial. I knew everything of that already, but thanks for the video, so I know that I did everything right. I bought a Monitor a few days ago and realized that I did everything right.

What did you get?
If a monitor is over 100% DCI-P3 does that mean it would also be 100% REC709 or would I need to get a separate monitor to grade in REC709 and DCI-P3?
REC709 fits into the DCI-P3 color space so you only need 1 monitor 👍🏻
Didn't talk about panel types?
hello you have for sale lut
how do you get to set up 4 or 5 monitors with resolve?
3 GUI 1 thru IO box.
