I left Newark and walked a few feet to the Juke Joint Soul House in Bloomfield, NJ. One of our subscribers, Natasha Owens, suggested this spot. Come along and take a look.

That e&j tells a story don't it? 😂 The soul food factory is in Union New Jersey and I got to check them out too, both of Southern restaurants. Somebody recommended the juke joint to me, about a year ago, I believe that's the one, and I will visit there before the year is out the food looks scrumptious 👍🏾

Matt it's gater. That food looks delicious. Also I went to that spot ferry st BBQ on Sunday, and the ribs were delicious. It was just too much rice and not enough meat but the meat that I got was delicious. Chicken was good also but the line was going out the door.
You know, I should have captured the video line, but some people looked as if they did not want to be on camera. I know what you mean. They pile the rice on but that BBQ is delicious.

This is the best looking video so far. I'm no director, but I liked the first camera angle SLIGHTLY better since it showed more of you and the red couch. However, the second shot showed more of that gorgeous restaurant, so now I'm torn. With that pure sunshine pouring into the room and dancing off every surface of The Juke Joint, you had the perfect spot inside AND on the patio at the same time.
LOL LOL, Im laughing because I was also torn. If I could do it again I would have put both camera's to my right. The second angle was a little silhouetted. Thank you very much. Means a lot.

If they could maintain their hours and full menu, they would be a 10. To often they don’t open on time or out of menu items. Like how are you out of cornbread? It’s jiffy with a kick.

Now my grandma from over there Patterson right behind East side high on Hamilton ave was from G.A. she can cook to ,i have it the best,as a kid i went to BK one weekend and to NJ another on and one in my hood S.I. and another either BK or NJ depends on how my mom and stepdad felt. 😂😂😂😂 So i was a all around kid

Don't be fooled by what you are seeing in this video. I guarantee everything went right for Matt bcuz they just opened! There's always a LONG waiting period and they always run out of certain dishes or sides without telling the customers. You really don't have to take my word for it, but just read the reviews of this restaurant. I'm not one to down any business, but customer service should come first as well as quality.

@@MattDV unfortunately when my hubby and me went over 4 years ago, it was in the evening time and what we wanted they ran out of. So what we did manage to get (which wasn't much) was ok, but overall disappointed at the place. We had to wait almost an hour just for them to tell us they didn't have what we ordered. It was the first time there and the last. I am one to show my support for small businesses, especially in my area of Newark. Newark is home❤.
What I could suggest to you if you've never tried yet are 2 other places, one Soul Food and the other Jamaican.
MaMa's Southern Style BBQ II at
2083 Springfield Ave, Vauxhall, NJ is the first, and 2nd would be Cafe Mobay at
1039 Broad St, Bloomfield, NJ
And if you like Deli spots, go to the New Jersey version of Katz at
Pastrami Grill Bistro at
83 River Dr, Garfield, NJ
Note: They actually have 2 workers that worked at Katz Deli before working at this Restaurant.
