Hey I grew up on the corner of William & Munn in East Orange. My parents owned a fish market called Blackwell's. We stole fish sandwiches and fresh fish. My pops name was Billy Joe Blackwell. How many out there remember that fish market. It got me through college now live in Greensboro North Carolina. I'm loving it here.

Today i visited, had the oxtail, collards and yams...delicious!!! Best was the wings...hands down the best wings I have every out. Seasoning was perfect! Will be going back!

Was nearby in Bloomfield, saw your video today and decided to give the wings a try. Pretty good. When hot, pretty crispy like you said. Now the collard greens were banging! I’ll go back and try other dishes. I mentioned it to them too that I found out about them from a RUclips video, she was smiling.

Oh man that’s some tasty looking food,…I’m originally from nyc , but been in nj for decades now. While riding my motorcycle through east orange I’ve noticed that have some great variety of black food places that cover the whole diaspora. Also I passed by some old diners in east orange that have unfortunately closed down. Keep eating good and showcasing.

That's a lot of Ox Tails and they look like they got some meat on them. I like my Ox Tail with just a little thicker sauce. By the way Ox Tails are not cheap! That whole dinner looks delicious.
I went and tried this food based on this video. The service was good, the oxtails & greens were ok, the turkey wings & mac & cheese were horrible. I wouldn't go back.

I make oxtails every once in a while because they are expensive but my sides are rice and peas and fried cabbage. I also like the flats and the tips of the wing. I'm not a drumett type unless i absolutely have no choice.
I hate when the black restaurants use those A-rab seasonings... They dont cook properly... and the taste is not traditional... Ironically Ambassador chicken (A-rab owned) are minimum in their seasoning and the taste is more traditional black people fried chicken..

to own Blackwell's fish market on a corner of William & Munn hollaback let me know how many people remember it. It was called Blackwell's. I went to East Orange High. Back then before I got married my last name was Dockery first name Stephanie

They have good chicken, but I feel like there are superior places that have good chicken. Now their meatloaf and shrimp are top tier. Most places aren't serving meatloaf and if they do its dry and basic. If places are serving shrimp, they're either too small or dry. Soul Food Factory when it was in East Orange had great chicken with nice portions. I'm not sure how it is since it moved to Union.
