Fun fact: the Sunday after losing this game, the Oklahoma Sooners’ head coach quit and accepted a job at the University of Southern California, and many of the Sooner players found out about it via social media as the coach didn’t even face them himself. He took other coaches with him and several recruits that had committed to signing with Oklahoma decommited, and several veteran players decided to transfer.

Bees I was your age back in 92'. Never thought in a hundred years, much less 30 years that I would be on my phone watching a video from a young man from halfway across the world reaching to a video of the football team I've been a fan of even before you were born. Life is funny sometimes.

Being a student at OSU and watching this game live the amount of stress I had during the last half of the game was insane. We screwed up a few times but came out with the W. What's not said in the highlights is that our defense didn't let OU score at all in the second half it was only muffed plays by our offense that allowed OU to get points.
That safety nearly killed me. My daughter was there
What's also not said is how few times OK State actually beats OU
Im also a student and I also was there I rushed the field best day I’ve had in a while!

My favorite is the "Red River Shootout". Red river separating the state of Oklahoma and the state of Texas. Oklahoma university vs University of Texas
Played at the Cotton bowl in Dallas which is neutral because half of Oklahoma's team is from Texas and UT is in Austin.
Favorite name: Georgia v Georgia Tech, or "Clean, old-fashioned hate".

To put this in context, Bees, the OU coach, Lincoln Riley, just announced he’s leaving Oklahoma to come out here to Los Angeles and coach USC (University of Southern California) next season. OU fans are understandably irate. 😆

As a life long Oklahoma State fan, these wins are so few and far between because Oklahoma is usually a very very good team. Bedlam (the name of the rivalry) wins are so so sweet!
I am a proud graduate of Oklahoma State. Glad you saw this game. The meetings between OU and OSU are called Bedlam. I love watching your reactions on other videos and glad you did this one. I wish you could experience a Bedlam football game, basketball game or wrestling match. It is SOOOOO intense. In close games we stand through the WHOLE game. We have only won in football 3 times in the last 17 years so this win was incredibly sweet. There is NOTHING like Bedlam football. and beating OU :)
OSU guy here. Happy to you look at this one. The player for OSU who ran the kick all the way is from the same town I came from, Bixby. It's the Southern suburb of Tulsa (where I am now). OSU's all time best player was Barry Sanders. Sooners are one of football's best, so winning "Bedlam" has always been big to OSU. A game soon to be lost as the Sooners go on to the SEC. Life is change, right?

As a Baylor fan, our hopes to get into the Big 12 conference championship(different from the national championship) depended on OSU winning this game. It was stressful.

OU had a defensive and an offensive td taken away and the refs didn't even review the fumble OU for and would had been ran back for td. Even the official on ABC got mad about that one. But Baylor took it to OU. Just an outsiders perspective Baylor by 10

Just dont do what ESPN did and put the OU logo instead of the OSU logo on your promotion of a bowl game for OSU.

I was at this game. I live in Oklahoma. Ou has won about 80 to Osu 20 or so. Osu has a great defense this yr. It looked like 65k or so people at the game. I was for Ou. They came up short this yr. Good luck Osu

Just FYI (since you don’t know much about either team), the Oklahoma Sooners is widely considered one of the top college football programs, has had several Heisman winners (the award for the best college football player basically), and in fact Oklahoma had made 3 out of the last 4 College Playoffs. (The College Playoffs is when the top 4 teams in the country play for the national championship.) So, not only was this an in-state rivalry game, it was huge for Oklahoma State because they beat one of the historically great programs that’s also had massive success in recent years. Just thought I’d give you a little wider context for the game.

I have enjoyed the sheer amount of respect and joy you have in your videos. But your reaction video on the O-State Cowboys (Go Pokes!) and our historic cross state rivals is epic, and for a reason even the most diehard Bedlam fan knows.
Bedlam started in ENGLAND!!!
That is right! In the middle ages, there was a mental institution located in London. It lasted over a hundred years, then was suddenly shut down. So they simply released all of the residents into the streets. Where they created quite a bit of havoc, and were referred to as "Bedlamers"
When Oklahoma was not even a state, two universities were established, Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanics and Oklahoma University. Later O A&M was changed to "Oklahoma State" O A&M was modeled after Yale, and OU was modeled after Harvard.
The rivalry was instantaneous. And original competitions were so fierce, that they were referred to as "Bedlam". The term has stuck. As a proud O-State alumni, I have been to many bedlam games, in various sports. And the spirit, the atmosphere... it is incredible.
I am now living in Germany, and eagerly await the start of the fall season. Keep doing what you are doing, love the channel, all the best, and from one Cowboy to another (in spirit) Go Pokes!

OKstate is my alma mater and as silly as it is, the fight to the bell mentality is something I'm very proud of and try so hard to hang onto, especially now when things seem beyond reprieve in my life.
As a OSU student who was at that game and in the student section I can say it was the highlight for my entire time at college and it sucks we won’t have bedlam anymore

Boon Pickens stadium is the OSU Cowboys stadium and its one of the loudest stadiums in the big 12

You were talking about the noise. Boone Pickens Stadium puts the fans very close to the field. It makes it a lot louder.

Funny you mention not wanting to win the game for OK State, theres a lot of speculation that the Oklahoma Head Coach didn’t want to win the game. The next day he left to be the Head Coach of USC. A complete surprise to the entire College Football world.
This was one of the better Bedlam games in recent memory. I'm heavily biased towards OU so I would suggest you check out the 2016 matchup between OU and Texas Tech. Baker Mayfield vs Patrick Mahomes.

For context (I am a fresh OSU grad):
The name of this game is Bedlam. The name comes from a wrestling match between OU and OSU where the crowd got so rowdy, journalists and announcers described it as “bedlam”.
OU is a week older than OSU, having both opened in December of 1890, so OU fans will constantly tease us as being the “little brother”, and in football we are almost always the underdog. Counting this game, Oklahoma has a record of 90-19-7, so we have only bested them 19 times before. The energy of this game is always about OSU showing our “big brother” that we can hang with the big boys too.
The reason this game was so electric was because both teams were more or less at their very best. This was without a doubt the most exciting, nail-biting football game I’ve ever seen, and the last tackle we made on OU to sack them shows it; literally crawling, doing whatever it took, to make the tackle.
Some OU fans will maintain that “Red River Rivalry” i.e. OU vs Texas is their most important rivalry, but I think Bedlam is the story of an underdog finally getting a victory over their supposed big brother. We beat them so bad apparently that it made head coach Lincoln Riley leave OU for USC!
so i’m a huge OU fan and me and my dad went to the game. OSUs stadium holds around 60k and OUs stadium holds around 87k. OU leads the series 90-19. and they have a much better football program historically has they are a top 5 of all time. hopefully that helped out

Yeah honestly this highlight video cut out HUGE moments from the game. Oklahoma (team that lost) also fumbled a punt inside the 5 yardline which set up the easy score late. If possible avoid videos by ESPN and instead use Victors Valiant

So I grew up an Oklahoma State fan and I attended Oklahoma State. The rivalry between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma is called Bedlam, and Oklahoma has historically dominated it. The record coming into the game was 90-18. I really wish you watched the full game because there were some INSANE moments that were left out, the highlights showed the punt return fumble by Oklahoma State, but there was another punt return fumble by Oklahoma near the end, which led to one of the touchdowns. The game was also very controversial from a referee perspective, both teams got screwed over several times. Oklahoma State had an insane touchdown pass denied, and there were two offside Oklahoma players on that safety play, whereas Oklahoma had a game winning touchdown pass denied through defensive pass interference and there was no call. If you have the time I’d highly recommend finding a full recording

I ❤️ OSU Cowboys! Every time we score the Cowboy’s have a horse, named Bullet, that runs out on the field. Fun fact. OSU is one of the only schools who has an east/west stadium.

Oklahoma's coach shocked everyone and resigned from OU and went out west to take USC(Southern California) head coaching job. Took coaches with him and recruits. For us alumni, former players, current players and coaches particularly Bob Stoops who appointed him head coach when Bob retired it was a slap n the face. He tried to say he had only been in talks for 3 days but its clear hid been in talks since October. But we made a great hire as his replacement naming Brent Venables our former DC under Stoops. He put together a great staff but it was much more dramatic than I could say.But thi all started the day after this game

Watch West Virginia vs Virginia Tech 2021. Believe it or not it is an out of state rivalry that is called the Black Diamond Trophy game
In case you didn't know... this is a bedlam game between two Oklahoma teams that is a huge deal every years.. this is the last year we will play each other in conference play because OU is moving to a different conference after 100 damn years. OU has a habit of beating OSU in football each year but it was pretty cool that OSU got the win on the last bedlam game..
so far 2022 in Norman, OK is tentative according to both programs. but the way the last week has gone... who knows.

I grew up in Stillwater and my Pokes don't win often in Bedlam, but the electricity in this game was huge. In spite of O-State's turn overs OU didn't stand a chance against our defense. We should have beaten Baylor. So close. Go POKES!

Oklahoma State's stadium capacity is just under 60,000. Oklahoma's stadium holds about 85,000. This is probably the most evenly matched these two teams have been in a very long time, possibly ever. Also, a very rare occasion that Oklahoma State was the higher ranked team.
one more thing the cowboy's nickname is "Cardiac Cowboys" because they are a come-from-behind kind of team.. they keep fans on the edge of the seat..

I was at the game. Everyone rushed the field after the game.
This was stressful to watch. My brother is an OSU alum, so we were cheering for OSU the whole way through, and for a while, throughout the 1st half they just completely dominated. Then OU came back around in the second half, and I was beginning to think OSU lost their thunder. But they pulled it off in the end. It was so much fun to watch. The last time OSU had beaten OU was 7 years ago, when they beat OU in overtime in 2014.
The crowd there is about 50k less than that Michegan game you were talking about. However, their sidelines there at Ok St. are notoriously narrow and dangerously close to the stands. Dangerously close because the walls are most often what stops a player if he makes it through the 6 deep crowd of people bunched up on that god awful field of play.
You must have wrote the letter a few years back whining about the field dimensions...after a loss of course.

I can ship you a Oklahoma hoodie (OU). And I would like to say this team was very unpredictable this season but they still my team.
Most states have a two tier public University system. The university system and state system. University usually more expensive, more prestigious better teams, state system cheaper. Easier to get in to ,ect. In some small states there is only one of each. ie. University of Oklahoma sooners(OU) and Oklahoma State University cowboys (OSU). In California you have multiples
ie. University of California at....los Angeles (UCLA), Berkeley (Cal, UCB) san Diego (UCSD). And state schools are now California state university(CSU) at san jose (CSUSJ) long beach(CSULB) and san Diego
Csusd. Although most still call the state schools by the older names. San jose state University (SJSU) long beach state(LBSU) and san diego state(SDSU).
Some outliers of course, ohio perfect example. The ohio stae university is big boy in ohio.

Is a 7 part series that goes over the entire Falcons history. And with the Saints having a big rivalry with the Falcons they talk about the Saints quite a bit as well so you'll get to learn a bit more about your New Orleans Saints. I will warn u they are about at hour a piece so if u do react to them don't think u have to get 1 out everyday or even every week

It’s a longer watch but a great look at high level (the number 2 and number 3 ranked teams in the country) college baseball. Plus it’s a hell of a fun game once you get in to it.
