- This is former Beatles drummer with the Pete Best Band performing the track "Gone" to some seven million viewers on the TV show Loose Women (29th October 2008).The track is from their EMI album "Haymans Green" which has recently been reissued on limited edition green vinyl. Great song. Pete Best deserves a respectfull place in the Beatles' history.
I've got to say I like this song. And I admire Pete for carrying on, despite all the difficulty.

Pete was persuaded to do a concert in Liverpool in 1988 after a spell away from the music business.He thought it would be fun to have his younger brother,Roag, join him on stage,which he did. Since then the line up has stuck and it's quite a powerhouse.
This song is amazing it sounds like the Beatles its very catchy the melody sticks with you i am pleasantly surprised, if this song was written in the 60's or 70's it would be a smash hit, its got a really nice retro sound to it, well done Pete

Singing this one and playing bass is Paul Parry. Lead guitarist is Phil Melia and rhythm guitarist Tony Flynn. Also on drums is Roag Best, Pete's brother

WOW! This is great! I was just watching Pete Best on Netflix which brought me here.
Many years ago I got to speak to Pete Best on a national show....might have been the Larry King show. I actually said to him "did you ever think of getting a retro band together and start playing again?" He replied that "although I still pick up the sticks every so often and play I have no plans on being in a band." I'm so glad he is back in the music business again

Love the Beatles but Pete Best has definitely proved his talents in hi own right. Of course you can hear the beatles influence in this song but Pete WAS a fonder in the beatles so its no wonder. Great song Mr. Best. Keep the music flowing. You have a fan here.

Pete is a great man and drummer. I really admire his courage. His experience would have pushed many musicians right over the edge. As a musician, I can honestly say I'd rather give myself a maple syrup enema and sit on a giant red aunt hill than go through what Pete did! Rock on! Great song! Go Pete!!!

Pete has a friend in Louisiana (Mr. Mervin). Mr. Mervin worked with my Dad . He told me about Pete Best,and his former tie with The Beatles.

I'm just catching up to this song after watching it on the Pete Best website and reading the comments below. What a great Beatles like sound. I also agree that it is very much a McCartney sound on vocals. Funny how time and circumstances flow. My best to Pete and his band.

there's a reason this cover was made this way. The Beatles "Anthology" took Pete's picture out of that cover using that photo. Here, he just got his photo back!

I Just bought the download Version of "Haymans Green" from Amazon, for less then 10 bucks! Totally blown away. Paul you are one amazing musician. If you have any links to other music you have done, please post them. Your facebook page has no music. I Can honestly say I'm a PC geek, I have never bought anything as far as music or programs. Haymans Green is the first! We need to support the underdogs. I hope you plan on following up with another CD.
Pete should have purchased The Cavern rather than let it get knocked down and really had the last laugh over The Beatles who fired him.

And I should add...the pain of knowing that whatever previous review I wrote was better than what I'm typing now...(doh!). and yet was somehow deleted from history... oh the irony. So what must be done for any of us in such circumstance? Keep on keepin on . Explore what IS, not what could have been. Hayman's Green is a terrific meditation on that very idea. This record invites us to go back to the Casbah and perhaps. having sifted through our own past and arrived in the now, concluded that, "everything I want...is here." Just don't forget who it is that is inviting us to go down this road. Kudos, Pete. Well played. Without the baggage of the MBE.

I was curious to hear a song by him thinking it would be terrible, but instead was pleasantly surprised. I don't know who wrote this song, but it is very good and very Beatle like. I now will see if iI cn find this album on Amazon. It is worth buying. I wonder what the rest of the album is like.
