Most Beatles songs don’t have that much or complicated chords. But they did it in such a special way that only they could do. The Beatles aren’t my favorite band, but they sure were the best band in the world.

This is one of my favourite Beatles songs. What I love about this live performance is that there are only five people on stage not like some of the acts that come out with 8+ people. Get back to more of how the music was created.
His keyboardist Paul Wickens pulls a lot of heavy duty stuff behind the scenes. He runs a lot of stuff through his keyboard loops to make the band sound bigger than they are. Wix has been Paul's full time keyboard player since 1989.
I remember David Crosby of the Byrds saying with admiration that this track was beyond the Byrds' capability. I think he meant the vocal arrangement and the Byrds were famous for theirs. It's certainly one of my favourites. I can play over 60 Beatles songs but I don't do this one as it's so hard to play it with the riff and sing it on one guitar. I think Paul found it easier to play rhythm than bass live. It'd be like patting your head while rubbing your stomach - though he manages it on so many. Genius.
I would have loved to have been in the studio when the Beatles were working on the song and someone came up with the idea to sing that in the background (assuming McCartney hadn’t already thought of it).
Certainly one of the most beautiful of the Beatles’ songs. A joy to listen to. Awesome performance. A crowd of people gathered in Strawberry Fields in NYC this last December 8th (2019) and sang this and it sounded great. People knew the harmonies after all these years and many of them were young. We love you, Paul. (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah)
Paul is the ultimate rocker and showman . He’s also the ultimate songwriter and studio artist . Performing is his roots . He is my worlds minstrel.Makes me happy inspires me musically and many other ways . Paul keeps me entertained. And that is good. I like how he’s lost a little bit of the Liverpool accent and pronounces writer during the song instead of writa.
It's two years since you made this comment but it really struck me when you said 'he is my world's minstrel'. Love that description of him. All the times I have seen McCartney criticized for his 'music hall' [which all The Beatles grew up with and loved] but he was the only Beatle who was ever criticized for it....and then you take it back to 'Minstrel', accurately in my opinion. What a great comment.

First of all yes Paul Mccartney is amazing but you have to be a REAL musician to know that is ridiculous. Pete Townsend a REAL musician said he was glad Moon and Entwhistle are dead. Joni Mitchell a REAL musician called Dylan fake and a plagiarist.. The Rolling Stones REAL musicians regularly disparaged the Beatles Ginger Baker a REAL musician basically said all rock drummers specifically Moon and Bonham sucked. Being a REAL anything does not mean you understand anything about other peoples talent or worth. Usually personal opinion form everybody's opinion rather than anybody's expertise. Many great musicians believe the Grateful Dead are groundbreaking amazing musicians while many others feel they are just mediocre musicians who just diddle around on their instruments. With REAL musicians on both sides of the argument who is right. Also people who have never played an instrument in their lives can have just as valid and relevant opinion.I think your opinion is based on the fact that you consider yourself a REAL musician whatever that means and what people to believe your opinion is of more value to others instead your comment makes you sound like a pompous clown
