His mastery is like on the gongfu level 10 ... I bet he can pluck some twigs and a handful of grasses while strolling in nature and he'll make a full bodied masterpiece out of it ...
First time I saw his drawings it was like an abomination. Too heavy for the eyes, then it fascinated me the results and technique and started to love his covers. Definitely he is a GENIUS!!. Thanks for sharing
I've always wondered how he managed to gain those effects! I always assumed he was using Oil pastels; I never dreamed he was drawing on some sort of plastic using markers! But who knows? Maybe he just used these for this occasion alone. A good magician never reveals all his or her tricks!
He does use pastels on a lot of his pieces. But he uses a lot of different mediums with various techniques to achieve the desired effects. For instance, putting crinkled plastic wrap over wet watercolor and letting it dry to give it a different texture
