Use this video to troubleshoot and repair why your Dell is showing you a Blue Screen Error, stuck in a Boot Loop, stuck loading, stuck diagnosing PC or other boot up issues. Make sure these are happening AFTER the initial Logo Screen. Please note, this can also be caused by a loose HDD.

A: If changing the setting sin BIOS didn't identify the issue and your Hard Drive passed the test, then the issue is most likely Operating System related. You would need to reinstall it.

when I run the DIAGNOSTICS my Dell laptop gets stuck in the "TESTING MEMORY" message, I waited more than 2 hours but the laptop still remains stuck.

Had the same problems with my Dell Optiplex 760 desktop. Upon start up, Dell logo bio screen appears normally but then the a "black cursor of death" flashing on the upper left screen takes over my PC forever to boot-up. I watched you video carefully. Went into bios F2 or F12 changed boot order to HD as priority, then un-checked and removed floppy drive choice completely, saved changes and exit. WOW, now my Dell, it boots normally, no frozen screen. Hey, Thanks :) FYI, In your video, You are so easy to understand and speak clearly with a tone of knowledge and experience. Just like in a College computer Lab. You would make a great teacher! You saved me hours of frustration. Thanks again. :)

2 questions, My battery is bad and I took it out and ran it plugged in, that's the only thing that showed a problem. Could that be the issue? Because I don't want to buy a battery if I'm going to need to replace the machine anyway. And 2. If I have to reinstall the OS, wont I lose everything on the laptop? :(

@@No-ky3kb If your hard drive is good then no. Most likely your files are not erased. You can install Windows without loosing all your files if you choose that option and do not delete the partitions.
Your solutions is awesome. Thanks buddy. But my case i have dell g3. Bios will different than yours which you shown in video. I checked date first, then boot order there i restored my last good know option. Then system restarted and works fine.

I switched legacy boot to a different boot and now my screen is black when i turn on my laptop pls help
Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery. Then hold down on the power button for 1 minute. Then put the battery and power adapter back into the computer and turn in on. If that does not get the computer back to where it was, you may have to perform a manual BIOS reset as seen here; ruclips.net/video/76I2Ec9K7lw/видео.html.

I have 2 hard drives, hard drive 0 is the one that I actually use and it is 1TB, it is healthy. Hard drive 1 is the one that’s failing the diagnostic tests and it is only 1 GB and I have not used to once nor do I need it. How can I disable hard drive 1?
Have you tried physically removing it? If its bad, then it should be removed anyway

I have also tried doing a fresh install of windows 7 (I had a windows 7 cd laying around) but when it finishes installing the computer goes to restart and when it turns back on and I boot the cd it just takes me back into the installation mode. what happens with me is that it goes from the blue screen to the diagnostic scan and keeps looping, but randomly lets me in. i just went through it a bunch of times and now it just loaded, but i know next time i turn on my computer j might have to do the same thing againz

I need help, my Dell Inspiron is stuck on the Dell screen and just the fan, I had bought a new charger, it charged to full then when I disconnected it said it only had 59 mins left of power then it just turned off saying low battery? Hi. Came bzck last night to see a Dell logo with a spinning wheel below. Can not boot. Finally, after several attempts and waiting forever, I loaded the self diagnostics tool that loaded over night. It did a hardware scan with no issues. When I clicked Done, which took a while for anything to hapoen, the screen went black with a cursor. That is where I am now. I have an XPS with solid state drive. . Any suggestions? Oh boy.

I have the same problem on my old dell desktop. There is a video from Herbertech called" Blinking Cursor When Booting Windows-Quickfix" which I myself am going to try later. I knew and I think lots of people know about the stuff talked about here.Tried it all last night and it was a waste of time. So there are lots of comments that the video I am referring you to did the job. I am going to try it later today.

If your battery tests as 'Failing' then I would replace it. However, its most likley not the cause of your Blue Screen Error. Did the HDD / Storage pass the test? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
So I have done all steps and the Dell Pre-boot System Assessment came back clear. The whole reason that I am trying to get onto my computer is so that I can access my files to transfer to my new laptop. Any suggestions?
If Windows wont load but the Hard Drive comes back healthy from the scan, then my next option would be to reinstall Windows. But that would erase all your data. If you want to get your data off the drive, hook it up to another working computer with an external hard drive link. You should be able to access them that way.

Hello there..... I've followed all the different steps and I ended up installing windows twice but somehow, the blue screen and black screen still come back

@@PC_Monkey Yeah the installs were successful and the PC works for about 3 or 4 days before the blue screen comes back
And about the diagnostics test, the results showed that everything was fine including memory and harddrive
@@chrenise3827 Very strange. What OS did the computer have originally and waht is it using now? If this keeps happening, it could be an update issue. I would turn the auto updates to off and see if that helps. Or, I would try replacing the HDD anyway.

It's also has an SSD instead of an HDD

hi thanks for a amazing video 2 days back i have remove the keyboard to clean so i open the keyboard and after puting back everything and since than i my laptop cant go further it shows the logo Compaq and restarts and come back to same position again and again and some times make sounds i tried out many things but still cant start can please help me out
If issues start with a computer after opening it, then the first guess would be that something was made loose or damaged when we were inside. I would first double check all connections. The diagnostic scan isnt a magic fix. Its a test to help us identify the issue. What was the result of the scan after you ran it?
I’m not finding your video link for factory resetting dell desktops for fresh install of OS. The main assistance Im requesting is specific to how I can properly factory rest the dell. Key commands? Blue screen of death on 2011 Optiplex currently.
If you have a 'Blue Screen' error on your Dell, have you tried the diagnostic scan as seen here? That will tell us if the HDD is healthy and will allow for a reset or a new install

Sometimes in BIOS, you will not have use of your mouse. Can you try the arrow keys, the tab keys, or the enter keys? If not, can you plug in an external mouse or keyboard?

Does the screen work? The first error is saying that the LCD cable may not be plugged in securely. You should 'reseat' it, which means unplug it from both ends and then plug it back in, taking care to insure its properly plugged in. The second error could be an operating system or a BIOS issue. Wow! Thats a lot of things not working lol. If none of those things are working then you cannot access any diagnostic options or use external devices to install windows fresh. The computer is bricked at this point. Unless you want to try to replace the keyboard and / or USB ports to try to at least gain access to the computer some way.

@@PC_Monkey mine started this morning from automatic repairs, and then to diagnosing problem which took over 8hrs I then stoped the process and forced shut my laptop since then it goes straight from automatic repairs to a blank screen without diagnosing the problem
