I am personally a console guy, but I know how to humble myself. I'm glad that PC users get to play this game at its graphical best. I just hope that they give them performance and stability just as good as the resolution.
well , one thing is for sure , they cant make a worse performance than 13-2 , thats simply impossible ( but i still love 13-2 , even at 17 fps on a 1080 ti)

@@chatek6845 4 years later. I'm running all the features set at max, but resolution at 1080p. Only my RTX3060 laptop. While overclocking with afterburner, getting stable above 70fps. Real hit is un Altissia. around 50-60fps. I guess the higher end cards could run at 120fps.

I'm talking about PC ports in general and how (especially graphically intensive) game ports often lack the polish and thus run pretty terrible on PC.

13-2 is a complete mess , crashes unless you disable steam cloud , , still can crash sometimes , and on my 1080 ti it runs at 17-22 fps most of the time in 4k
13 on Launch had a great feature , hitting esc once closed the game without a warning
but well , the games still are playable and SE learned from their early misstakes
this is not a pc port. the game was developed in luminous engine which has the capability to run on all platforms. they took so long to release the pc version coz they need to make it work with dx12/vulkan drivers on pc.
Lol don't count on Square Enix to make a decent PC port. Look at Nier Automata. It's a shoddy PC port and Square have done nothing to fix the problems. No news or anything.

The story is pretty bad.
That's why the said *looks. And you do have to at least admit that. The Lumious engine's graphics are d*** impressive. Wish they were still using it for KH3, but hopefully UE4 gives them enough control they can still optimize it to get these insane graphics. I hope they update the character hair though. it still looks derp. but the hair on that monster was SOOOO GOOOD! They should use that method more imo. It's a bit hard to tell how they applied it even in 4k though going frame by frame due to motion blur. Hopefully there is an option somewhere to toggle motion blur and radial blur off.

The story isn't "bad" just incomplete. Where's luna's backstory? Where's noctis's backstory with his father, regis? What about talcott? He goes through some extreme trauma and we don't even see it or have reason to care. We don't even get a proper flashback. It's explained in some optional dialog in the endgame at a completely inappropriate time. And what about camera guy, frog girl, and fishing dude? Why should the player care about them at all? At least they tried with the chocobo ranch stuff. And Dave, the hunter becomes mostly irelevent very fast(though I don't mind that as I hated his character). see. Stuff is just missing or done poorly everywhere. I'll defend things that deserve it, bu the story isn't one. The best thing they had going was the bond between the 4 guys, but they even screw that up towards the end by making it all about noctis. The final scenes was touching though. Square also needs to stop leaving their stories open ended. It worked well with FFVII, but it hasn't worked since. 8 was they only one that even kind of did that correctly after 7(but 8 had numerous other issues).
A game made in UE4 is gonna allow for A LOT easier portability, since UE4 is also for PC. This is probably the reason why they're making KH3 and FF7:Remake in UE4.
This is great for PC players. It is a high quality game in regards of graphics and tech, despite the criticized story.

+RedSnowman9 That's exactly the problem. When did "decent" become an acceptable standard? Wouldn't you rather have them make games with GREAT story, like FFVII? They story has continually taken more and more of a backseat compared to everything else since that game. In 13 You had to read data logs and interviews to get a good feel of the whole story, stuff that is ESSENTIAL TO THE MAIN CAMPAIGN. 15 was even worse spreading it out across multiple media, and even then MORE STUFF IS STILL MISSING/UNFINISHED! This is a AAA game and there are better Indie titles in terms of story and game-play.

witcher 3 hit fps so hard with hairworks beacuse the physx in w3 used cpu rendering. if it used gpu rendering then it wouldnt be that much of an issue but most gaves use cpu physx rendering now cuz any game that uses physx gpu rendering pretty much obliterates fps on amd cards

Just got it. Lovin every bit of it so far. The characters , the squad based combat and the story. Largely ignoring most FF games only playing them briefly at best. This is shaping up to be the best RPG I've played in a long while...

Two different kinds of games. I never liked ME for it's gameplay. I like it for it's story though. Not so sure about Andromeda though.. I never bothered with it too much due to how it played and the many reviews on it's meh-ness.
Had a blast playing it on PS4 and I'm really thinking about it to get it for PC aswell, it looks breathtaking. I'm glad PC-only gamers are going to be able to enjoy this gem.

so many people complain about the game, but honestly as my first final fantasy experience, this was amazing. loved the characters, loved the story, loved the world, loved the combat (except when the bushes cover the screen :/) and definitely planning on buying more final fantasy games such as the ffx hd remaster

Really don't get why they'd even try selling it on origin, it probably even cost them money to put it there and very few people will actually get it there unless there's a pretty big discount. I remember when they put a call of duty game on the windows store and people wanted refunds due to the online lobbies being empty, was funny. I can only assume that square enix doesn't really get that literally every PC gamer likely to get this game already has steam, I have my doubt that there is anyone who would even consider getting this on pc that just has an origin account.
Well, for one thing, Origin is immensely better than the Windows Store in terms of service and price at launch, and from my personal experience, the sales are better on Origin.

Stfu, PC port means that MORE people can play the game and that it will be restored for future generations. Nobody cares about FF13 and 13-2 anymore, the demand of this was much higher.
FF13 had it's chance, let it die. Hope the next one will be better. the current development is for 15 and FFVIIR. If there is enough demand for it maybe in 30 years FFXIIIR will be a thing, but I doubt it given how much it is hated, so until then let it rest in peace already.

In the Deluxe Edition you got the Code for the Deluxe Exclusive Content. Or they could check the PSN/XBL Accounts linked to steam. There are certainly ways, but i don't think square enix would go this route sadly.
Or you could do the simple thing. Not spend another 60, its really not that hard lol. I mean if you do support them by all means pay for it a second time, but no one's forcing you to get it on pc
also quick question, if its on steam couldn't you technically just experience the first few hours to see how it runs and whatnot and then refund it through steam? I'm not a PC gamer, that's just what i hear from my friends, if you play less than 2 hours i think
Yes you can refund it if it works poorly. But you can also just wait for a Port Report tbh. And i want to get it on PC too because it looks really nice what they are promising. On old PS4 it feels very stuttery and is not really enjoyable. But i love this game on the other, that's why i want to experience it one time smoothly.
The PC version will be the devinative edition since all the updates, story patches, and content will be there.

Happy to see it coming to PC, but two things that bothered me about the trailer.
1.) Someone forgot to enable V-Sync before recording footage, lots of screen tearing.
2.) You created a first person mode for this game..... because? It really doesn't seem to fit that well.
Hype for the mods to make the story comprehensible within the game itself!

I am insanely happy for a PC-Version because of Mods and variable playspeed and stuff like that but let's be honest: It doesn´t look much different to playing it with my PS4 Pro on 4K HDR TV. I thought that Square Enix wanted to change the game completely to use the stronger hardware?!

The trailer is supposed to show us the graphical quality of the game and which changes were made! That´s why you can watch the video even up to 4k. It's not like it would look bad, just not any different than before, like Square Enix promised in the past! :) The little-detailed improvements are barely notable!
G! Gaming Its NOT the "fault" of your Ps Pro! You need a proper TV to play the game like you have seen in the trailer. 4k and HDR does a lot for the sharpness and colours of the game ;)
I have a 4k screen I am watching the trailer on now... why the **** didn't they turn off motion blur? Between that and video compresion even going frame by fame you can barely make out details. It looks great, but I can't tell how great.

60fps on consoles are joke dude .. there's Lite mode that output higher than 30fps but not really 60fps and lowers the graphic alot

I love how reading the comments here, this is one of the only places where pc and console fans express joy that other people get to play one of their favourite games regardless of platform. Final Fantasy fans really do care about the series, not just what they play it on.

Supersonic at this point , with all the updates, the only dissapointments with it are the starting side quests and plot holes.
Story wise it's like Kimi no na wa, crappy story with loads of plot holes but does a great job of getting you attached to the characters + looks sexy af

Luna's death didn't affect me one bit. Tabata failed to flesh them out properly to even care for them. And most of the NPCs are just an afterthought. Why the hell you would care for them if they rarely get screentime?

Personally I find the game play to be good, but the story and story missions to be horrible. I found it really enjoyable taking on some optional bosses and exploring the land.
It's a Final Fantasy tradition to have braindead gameplay.
The game-play was top-notch, just nothing lasted long enough for the combat to actually mean anything, it was like playing a backwards Dark Souls game.
Souls - Simple combat/mechanics but extremely unforgiving
FFXV - Somewhat complex combat (if you don't just spam magic) but so far beyond being easy it's not even a joke.
??? Nigga the graphics are still fucking shit, it's just the resolution upscale, but gimme da fuckin story cause thats where its at

I found that everyone on RUclips seems to have a high-end pc and think the powerful hardware will change the game. But I will tell you: no. FFXV has the worst storyline in the series history which should have been the soul of FF. Yes it's graphics looks so good, but it will help you nothing with the gameplay itself. I have played this game for hundreds hours and I know exactly what the weaknesses are in this game. This is my honest suggestion: don't expect too much about this game.
Some people like FFXV storyline.
The story is bad yes, but worst in the series? don't over-exaggerate Ardyn is what Kefka wanted to be, he literally has a "world of ruin" just like Kefka, difference being Ardyn isn't demented and he has his world of ruin for a decade, only what a few thousand times longer than that clown.
They rushed the game and cut out months long of development to rush the release date just for you guys. Thanks a lot. It doesn't help when people set their expectation too high. FF15 was going too be different from the start. A tragedy along with the fact they made it to be playable by both veteran ff and newcomers. The story was alright after you filled in the plotholes from reading .
Consumers these days are so demanding, i pity developers for it. I would never release the FF7 remake if i was square cause consumers will always find a way to complain about it.
Been waiting almost 10years to play this game, at this point i don't give two shits about the story.

this game is like a beautiful body without a soul i miss the good old days where the story the characters the game play was top priority
I love how people bitching about "bring back fantasy goodness" when this game oozes the FF origins characteristics. 4 heroes of light, crystal, a water elemental girl sacrifice. The story and gameplay is all about taste, but demanding something that's right in front of you because you're too busy ranting is kind of stupid lol.
this is utter confirmation that XII Remaster will eventually come to PC as well, which is all i care about.
Final Fantasy 15 on PC is moddable so like the Elder Scrolls this game will live on forever.
But will we get an official modding tool for this game like Skyrim ?

I'm more interested in keyboard and mouse support and how well it is implemented, than watching another 4k video.
I don't care if I have it already on PS4 I'm still buying it again for PC.
