It took me while to learn this and play it cleanly at the fast speed but i finally have it nailed in the end, never thought I'd be able to play this beautiful yet tricky piece but i guess i have a ridiculous amount of patience lol this man truely is godly!! Michael Romeo certainly is one of my favourite guitarists!!
I've been watching this guy for years and still can't figure how the hell he can play it so clearly. At some parts his right palm is totally raised, and his left hand is not muting the lower strings either. I must guess it's low gain or alien magic. Romeo came from Saturn.
Michael is a nice clean player , i know many play his style however he has always pushed ahead and is always looking for new stuff , he is also a good teacher in my opinion
Give credit where credit due! This boy has obviously practiced his ass off day and night to get to this level. Very impressive virtuoso level playing. Good going Mike!
Even thought Chris Broderick's betcha is harder to play than this one, this solo sounds so much better and more melodic and brutal. This is my all time favorite Betcha. I just wish it was a little longer. Michael Romeo FTW!
This and Chris Broderick's are like some of the few that really feel like Betcha Can' Play This licks. The others are just alternate picking or speed picking or sweeps the really basic stuff that everybody starts off with learning. But these advanced tapping licks are much more challenging to learn and far more deserving for Betcha Can't Play This licks.
You can do what I do, I have my gate cranked up , and for solos I stick it in my neck pick up. It sounds fantastic, and the game works almost perfectly. The only time you can hear any thing ring out is if I accidentally hit a string when I am sweeping or tapping.
es una las cuantas clinicas que hacia en aquel entonces ♥ lastima que no esta las de musica clasica que tocaba bethoven chopin en la acustica es un genio
I couldn't come close to this even at 70bpm... And he does it over twice that speed. Guess that's why he makes a living shredding, and I post comments on his videos..
Thanks for enlightening me on that. I understand the accuracy would be difficult, not sure about the dexterity. i do understand string skip tapping and tapped arpeggios can be difficult though.
holy shit hes awesome. I saw him at the heavy mtl festival and i got to met him I have a poster of symphony X signed by him and one pick signed by him too
@dmnxCGi I read that Steve Vai almost quit guitar at one time because he professed his hands were to big to play anything. He said the length of this fingers really messed him up. On another note, he is really sick at 7 string, might help that he has large hands and fingers. So, again, who knows?
As to the shred argument, like I said- personally I think Romeo is a great example of someone with chops who makes them work with a track. He's razor precise, which is hardly a problem, but he's playing as a lead guitarist for a band- Vai is playing as a solo guitarist. Romeo writes, records and produces all of Symphony X's music. Listen to Odyssey, and some of their other beautifully sprawling masterpieces, and if you can tell me he's all a about technique and not music, I'll be amazed.
Michael Romeo is one of my guitar-playing peers and is my hero. Symphony X was the best, but I don't know if they disbanded or not. I hope they didn't.
they stand for the speed he plays that lick at. speed in modern music is measured in beats per minute. so 172 bpm means (if the time signature is 4/4) that there are 172 quarter beats per minute.
"betchya can't play this" is the story of Michael Romeo
No fucking shit.
gotta love that comment llo xD
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAA
Michael Romeo is a machine... but a machine with tons of feeling
OMG 🤮🤮🤮🤮

I saw the title "Betcha can't do this - Michael Romeo" and I said
"You know what? I probably can't.."
Romeo is one of my all time favorites.
A little faster... 172 ~ Cool ~
haha, I love how he jumps from 100 to 172 going " a lil faster"
He's got some of the most tasty tapping licks ever...Him and Reb Beach belong to the upper echelon!
Don't forget Chris Broderick.
My favourite "Betcha can't play this"!
Romeo is the best. Top technique, great touch and expression! loose some more kilos!

him doing it slow allowed me to really appreciate the composition of tue notes themselves and how technical it is💯🎸
shows how metal Beethoven was.
you mean how Beethoven metal is??? Beethoven and many other classical composers are the reason metal exists in the first place haha
Craig Seewer metal started on blues roots (.--. )?
@@bloodisfreedomsstain rock is rooted in blues. Neoclassical metal is rooted in classical music.
@@fernandomoreno7753 Weird, so you're saying classical influenced metal was influenced by classical music? Huh. Never thought about it like that.
@@aazreaal it's insane, how you actually have to explain that to some people.
I liked it bet at 100. It really allows you to enjoy each note
same here. doesnt need to be played any faster
Tried it, broke all of my fingers. See you next year!
Did you healed?
Youre right, i can´t...
Masterful.
Michael is a nice clean player , i know many play his style however he has always pushed ahead and is always looking for new stuff , he is also a good teacher in my opinion
So clean, Michael is criminally underrated
How does he tap so flawlessly!!!? Just barely presses and it comes out crystal clear
awesome lesson from an awesome teacher, which encourages you a lot on going further and seriously on the guitar practicing and studying
beautiful just beautiful.
Give credit where credit due!
This boy has obviously practiced his ass off day and night to get to this level. Very impressive virtuoso level playing. Good going Mike!
:')
lol at the end "...tick tick tick...cool"
that was awesome
michael romeo is a greatest guitarist. Now i study his method and he's a lot clean in the sound and a great teacher!
Even thought Chris Broderick's betcha is harder to play than this one, this solo sounds so much better and more melodic and brutal. This is my all time favorite Betcha. I just wish it was a little longer.
Michael Romeo FTW!
the slow part of this is a betcha can't play this too xD
Michael Romeo, the master of tapping.
"Cool"
This is one of the better BYCPT that I've seen. Michael is a great guitarist and I like his progression here a lot.
Love how smith and lucid this guys playing is...
I want the tabs for this so bad.Thank You for the inspiration Michael.
great playing
my favourite classic score!!
by far the best video of the Betcha can't play this
Really amazing
great playing and superb tempo control!
Lol i liked it at 100 too but only cos i can nearly nail it there. Will post a vid soon of it!
Dayum u have 167K subscribers now. Noice
Such an awesome piece
this is the most unknown, yet amazing metal guitarist ever
Really like your 2nd point. Speed brings a different dynamic to playing, and energy.
Fukkin shreddin! I like the ephasis with the slower tempos. Glad you did it at multiple tempos.
Most amazing tapping I've ever seen =D
Everybody: *Dead from the shock impact of what he just played*
Michael Romeo: "Cool."
Lifestory of Michael Romeo! xD "betcha cant play this"

Love this guy.
fast, and beauty, always in the music, the emotion can be TOP all the rest.
Michael Romeo is one of the best... Listen to some Symphony X and you'll agree.
@tijmenpv It is ludwig beethovens moonlight sonota 3rd movement. Most people seem to only know the first movement. But this is indeed the 3rd.
@MrPopTartzz more than 37 people cant play this, but 37 people threw their guitar out of the window because of Michaels awesomeness !
too good ive been trying this for ages!!
A true artist.
Michael Romeo.. Is.. GODDD
epic, and I might be able to play that but it will take a while to practice.
Michael Romeo is a Genius!
the first time i listened to it i didn't even realize that it was the moonlight sonata (beethoven)
great, incredible
dude thats just sick ya so rock
@funny555 for 1 thing..that guitar is tuned down to a D..that helps make the strings super rubbery..thats helps!!!!
Awesome! I bet i can't play that, indeed!
fuck it's even hard to play the scale backwards at the slowest xD
Awesome
Well said...and I've been blasting Paradise Lost for about a month straight...I can't seem to get that CD out of my car stereo.

I need more tapping stuff like this. I want to learn this man
es una las cuantas clinicas que hacia en aquel entonces ♥ lastima que no esta las de musica clasica que tocaba bethoven chopin en la acustica es un genio
intense. he makes it look so easy too!
his manual dexterity is amazing given the relatively small hands he has
terrific!
wow sick lick there,respect!
you win this round, Michael
one of the best betcha cant play this

His pieces are worth learning for their artistic value.

That's a man who loves his reverb :)
Now that is incredible !

nice use of tony macalpine/greg howe-style arpeggios! very cool.
Sweet!!!!! Thanks for this one!

What???? Romeo is a fucking monster of tap. Long live to Michael Romero!!!!
holy shit hes awesome. I saw him at the heavy mtl festival and i got to met him I have a poster of symphony X signed by him and one pick signed by him too
A lot of cool rhytms in there. Beethoven knew his stuff, and so does this guy.

When played slow it kinda sounds like the dungeon music to the original Zelda! That's awesome!
Legend has it. The world still can't play this.
Michael Romeo is one of my guitar-playing peers and is my hero. Symphony X was the best, but I don't know if they disbanded or not. I hope they didn't.
He has nice tone
He rocks!

@Phrygian12
And he started at 19!
Most of shredders start at young ages, like Paul at 13 and Michael Angelo at 11!
moonlight sonata 3rd movement! nice!
Nice playing!!! Jason Macedo and Johnny Hiland

@stonedparyah After a good 15mins of practice I managed 'slow' quite flawlessly. I've been playing for 4 years. Romeo is beast..
