How these girls haven't become a household name yet is a mystery to me. There are but 2 kinds of people here, one group is totally obsessed with The Warning, and then there are those that haven't heard them yet. I'm 75 and haven't been this obsessed with a band since 1964, do I have to tell you who they were? They Are A Phenom.
The Spanish spoken interlude is performed by their manager, Rudy, playing the part of a preacher at a funeral. Originally, he would perform it live, but it’s usually played on a backing track. In the Pepsi Center video, the backing track is mixed much quieter, and the crowd microphones are turned up so you can hear the audience performing the spoken part. The Spanish translates to: Brother, salvation Is something that is earned Release your hand of resentment and awaken to a new light Within you, even though your brothers Try to plunge you into the darkness.
For some context regarding the performance of Dust To Dust at this show, Pau was sick to the point that they considered cancelling the show, she is drumming while singing lead all song, plus this is in Mexico City at 7,350 feet (2,240 meters) above sea level. How she was able to perform it this well and the whole show blows my mind! 🤯
My understanding is that Pau required a prednisone treatment in order to be able to perform. Anyone more in the know, please set me straight if I'm mistaken.
@@Rock_Zombie Yeah, Rudy (their manager) said something about them all getting shots from a doctor before the show. They were all sick with the flu... slowly recovering... Pau was the sickest and the most symptomatic yet... Ale next sickest... and I think Dany was the least symptomatic. I don't think they ever said what the shots exactly were, but logic dictates that the doctor gave them steroid shots. If Pau didn't, at one point, announce during the show that she was sick, you would never know it. She is a trooper... they all are. Amazing show and truly probably their best performance to date... I really want a Blu-ray of this entire concert.
Can I just say how much we appreciate the way you're treating what is, for many of us, almost a sacred thing. The way you're going through the lyrics, making sure not to miss anything important. Like that transition between songs, for example.
Yeah, they all collaborate when writing, but they have often given Ale the biggest credit for this song... I've even heard Ale refer to it as, "my song." lol :-)
Ale is a great bassist. She has far more groove than other bassists in rock these days. I’ve heard she likes to listen to jazz and funk. She loves L’Imperatrice, for instance. You can hear it in her playing. Only 19, will be 20 in a few days, and she’s got serious chops. Will be interesting to see where she takes it from here with the band. Her sound is a big part of Keep Me Fed.
Great Reaction ...as always! As a 50 follower of Rock n Roll, it is refreshing to hear, in 2024, solid, fundamental, straight forward, rock music. These three sisters are phenominal talents. I cannot imagine the pride felt by their parets, who manage the band and tour with them.
Yes... all great vlogs... advised to watch after you hear the entire album... I'd specifically point to the 2018 Lunario concert, where they perform the entire album live for the first time... with a couple other older songs sprinkled in too. ;-) I consider that Lunario concert a sort of turning point for the band... it was when they went from a great band to BEYOND great!
These two songs are from QOTMS album, but are not in sequence on the album. They added the transition bit after D2D in order to go right into Dull Knives. D2D usually ends with Dany's scream. Also, they have said they tried to make Dull Knives longer but everything they tried did not work so they left it as is and said if you think it is too short, play it again. 😀 D2D is the opening track on QOTMS album and is considered the prologue of the story.
Another item of note, but when they used to perform "Dust to Dust" live, Ale used to do a cool bass intro leading into the song; it's not on the album... it was just something she did at live performances. At some point, she stopped doing that, but I always enjoyed it. If you watch the live Lunario show, where they first performed all of Queen of the Murder Scene live to an audience, you can hear her do it there. It always gives me Iron Maiden vibes. ;-)
Oh yes.... the 2017 TEDx performance is fantastic... and you get to hear the girls speak more about their values and goals. Really special. The final song, "Survive" is the standout song... and you even get to watch Pau drum in heels, splinter a stick, and snatch up a new one like a champ... probably without most of the crowd realizing anything happened. lol True pro... even at that age. ;-)
Nice !!! I can say the rest of your journey with The Warning is going to be the Most Brilliant you will witness... !!! No lie... carry on and thanks again.... We're here with you ! 🤟⚡
@@thevikingbuddha These 2 songs were amazing but the song Evolve will be an eye opener and the video of the Foo Fighters The Pretender cover when they were children will boggle your mind. They don’t have a song or performance that’s not amazing.
Queen of the Murder Scene is a concept album which tells the story of a disturbed young woman's inner journey from desire to obsession to murder and madness. The songs are told from the point of view of either the young lady's inner psychopath or her good side, which has a conscience - until it does not. The album contains 13 songs, D2D being the epilogue, then 4 chapters of 3 songs each that tell a continuous story. Dull Knives is the 2nd song of the 3rd chapter, so song 9 out of 13 on the album.
My two favorite songs from TW, both from my favorite album of them. You are perfectly right in noticing the darkness in these songs. QOTMS is a very dark album. Pau has explained in interviews and bts footage how and why she came up with this story, and it’s truly amazing considering she was 15 at the time. Dust to dust is actually the prologue to the album, and it’s an epilogue at the same time. Its told from the point of view of in unspecified character who’s about to tell the story after it happened. Very similar to the prologue of phantom of the opera which itself was inspired by Shakespearean works. This alone shows what a genius songwriter Pau is. Great reaction, I think the deep lyrical dive will make much more sense once you do the album in order. It’s a great experience.
Yeah, Pau jokes that she was obviously going through her "emo phase" when they were writing that album. lol You can definitely tell. ;-) Also a fun tidbit that their father was the one to sort of point them in the direction of making it a concept album. Pau has already written a couple songs about the same character (in her mind) and Luis brought up the idea of making a cohesive story with chapters... BAM! Concept album was born. lol I also agree... best album they have made to date. I love all of their albums... but that one is my favorite.
The Spanish language part of D2D is a spoken word part, a "preachers sermon", typically played as a backing track originally recorded by their manager, Rudy. The song plays perfectly as the prologue to a story of obsession, murder, madness... QOTMS 🤘⚡️⚠️
These lyrics start having much more sense during listening to whole album with knowledge what is it all about. For now it is worth to add that this particular album is a loop and first song ("Dust to Dust") gets more meaning after listening the last one. ;) Anyway - in fact it is poetic journey where all pieces have their spots so I would not analyze those songs right now too much. ;) Already waiting for Lunario. :D
Not just that it should be IN a movie…. Queen of the Murder Scene is (or I should say, needs to be) A movie… or broadway… or graphic novel (black & white & “crimson” all over😉)… or all of the above.
As much as people go on about “23,” “Narcisista,” etc., I really think “Dust to Dust” is the best showcase of Pau’s talent. Seeing her drum while she full-on belts the chorus - especially the last time with all that build - is just unreal.
I really can't wait for Lunario. You really shouldn't miss Dull Knives live from the Warning cave for detour (it was an online concert during COVID lockdown). It really is required viewing for TWA conscripts such as yourself!
Great reaction again!! I know you mentioned in a previous video that after this concert you were going back to the beginning with the Enter Sandman video that went viral 10 years ago, but it might be cool for you to watch it on the same reaction where you do the Pepsi Center version. There's also a OMV of the newer version that they did with Alessia Cara for the Metallica Blacklist Album. They still use her backing vocals in the Pepsi Center Version, but they have tweaked the song a little bit again since the OMV. Anyway, just giving you some info on it. I'm here for your reactions no matter what! 🤘⚡
Make it a 3fer. You'll see their origins, the OMV for the Metallica tribute album, and the special addition just for the 10th anniversary of the band. Technically, there's a 4th version of Enter Sandman which they toured live with. You can see that in the Teatro Metropolitan concert.
Yes; it's sometimes hard to understand their lyrics blind... and then you read them, and when you listen again you wonder how you ever heard anything else. 😉 Dany has always "acted out" the parts in the QOTMS songs. She seems to delight in it, actually.
@@thevikingbuddha It is indeed an odd phenomenon, seems to be related to how the brain processes music. It's hardly the first band I've listened to where this happens, too - so it's fairly common, at least to me.
Dani face, goes with the Dani Kick. Love the Dani Kick. And Dust to Dust opens, Dull Knives comes when the knives come out. My favourite song on the album, Sinister Smiles, did not make the concert for mysterious reasons. I keep saying Ale wanted to change her singing role and did not want to sing it anymore.
The next 3 songs (Black Holes, Breathe & Enter Sandman) should be done through the full concert video. Because Pau speaks Español to the crowd before Breathe. The full concert video it is subtitled. But on the play alone video. It's not subtitled. Unless you speak Español. Put on your CC on auto translate than click English. It's not perfect but you'll get the meaning. About this combo (D2D/DK). For these series of 3 shows (Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mexico City) to celebrate their 4th year anniversary. They surprised their fans by playing these 2 seperate songs as a combo. They did performed this combo at one of their European shows this past summer [2024].
You seem to have very good intuition about the QOTMS saga, however, in the album these two songs are not sequentially back to back. Dust to Dust is actually the prologue to the whole story, ooh, and I think you'll appreciate how the LUNARIO concert, (and the album) is done in four chapters - very clever! Loving your reactions to this PEPSI concert but, also, can't wait for your journey down the QOTMS saga - a veritable masterpiece.
Ok your totally booked, the best addiction anywhere in the world. Ali's killer Bass line to D2D was written when she was child, she has magic fingers, Technically such an impeccable Bassist. Dany is such a World Class front Woman and you will see just how incredible as you get to their newer songs her Vocals just keep getting better. Pau has won awards for her drumming. She is already reached supreme level, and when she gets on the Panio you will see even more. All classical trained on the Panio. Yes so much more to these 3 incredible Sisters...
@@thevikingbuddhaThere is no other band in the world like them, they are child prodigies and write lyrics and songs that are ahead of their time. Their longtime manager Rudy cried the first time he heard them and called them a miracle.
Spring 2018: My brother in law in England posted their 2014 cover of Enter Sandman on his FB, I watched it and it got me very curious. I mean how could kids play thus good?! So I searched more videos of them, watched Survive from the second Ted Talk next and was hooked. I devoured a lot of their videos that day. 😀 I found out they had an album out which I played a lot going forward (my favorite is maybe Shattered Heart but they are all good!). Then in october they realeased a new song, Dust to Dust. It was just sooo good, expecially the bass line was so mesmerizing. So I played it over and over. Over the next weeks they released chapter one (first three songs) of what would be Queen of the Murder Scene - I don't remember if the album name was know yet - then chapter two and chapter three before they had the release concert at Lunario where chapter four were finally revealed. It was a very exciting time with lot of anticipation for the next songs. I remember when I first heard the concert I was a bit disappointed because the live recording was very rough and the girls were clearly not conditioned to the height. Over the following months they released new videos of the songs from the concert that were cleaned up (not corrected!). I got very invested in them at that time, and they being so talented, so good yet so normal... to this day I am so proud of what they are doing and accomplishing! I whish them good fortune and fair weather going into the future, but I am a bit worried too because with popularity comes some negatives too, like crazy "fans" and stalkers. Anyway it is good to see new people like you falling in love with them (for the right reasons), I kind of relive that time back in 2018. 😀 Thank you.
Ale wrote the intro base line when she was between 11 and 13 yeaars old( dust to dust). The girls tried everything to make Dull knives longer but then they said don't fix what isn't broke. If you want it to be longer watch or listen again.
When you start to do the whole _Queen of the Murder Scene_ album, I have a document on Google Docs that give all of the song meanings, since they aren't always apparent on first listen, and/or without listening to their vlogs and chats. Just google queen of the murder scene meaning and the first hit should be my document.
TWA historians will be along to fill in the meaning and placement of these songs (they don't follow each other). but I just wanted to say thanks for continuing the journey, ........You will be enriching your life by it!
In Black Holes and Breathe Pau in going to blow you away again, but in a different way. And their version of Enter Sandman in this concert is just epic, many will argue (including me) that it´s even better than the original...now that´s saying something because the original is one of my favorite songs of all time!!
Excellent my friend... excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At 71 years of age, I know death is coming sooner rather than later. As a minister in The United Church of Canada, I have also planned my own funeral. Dust to Dust is part of my funeral plans - and my kids know this. It is full of meaning for me because I have spoken those words at so many gravesides. Indeed, the richness goes beyond the lyrics in The Warning's songs, incorporating the musical composition as layered meaning which leads to an ever wider breadth of interpretation. As they said at their TedX talk, music is art! Pau has also said in one of their videos that she is sometimes preoccupied with death, wondering what is next - if anything. I believe their lyrics convey that uncertainty flavoured with hopeful longing. THAT'S what catches me and holds me. DPA are treasures.
This is such a great concert- I have enjoyed it every time I've seen it - and I have watched it many times. And I keep looking out for reactors who are watching it for the firs time. That said, Dull Knives has one of my favorite endings on the drums - Pau looks like Animal from The Muppets. My other favorite is "Survive".
Both songs are from QoTMS my friend. Dust to Dust is the prologue to Chapter one of the Album and Dull Knives is the 9th song of the Album in Chapter 3. Love what you are doing here. Looking forward to part 4...because I already know what is coming!! Will have my crying towel at hand.
@@thevikingbuddha VERY! Paulina at her most vulnerable emotional heart breaking best. Two of the best ballads ever written by a teenage Pau. Lyrics are important. These incredibly talent Ladies can Rock your socks off but then, well you shall see. Dany will get you later on in this concert.
Thinking about it , many of their songs could feature in movies .That damn cameraman missing Pau's drum fils though on Dull knives .😬 See you soon man.

@@KansaSCaymanS Well yes, I was pretty good. But we never recorded anything, as recording equipment back in the 70s and early 80s was expensive and quit bulky. That said, don't take my comment as anything negative. They're quite good, and not over polished to death like a lot of bands these days. They still have a little roughness around the edges which I like.
It would be a good idea to have the lyrics up when you do Lunario, just so you don't miss story due to older video/audio (it's good, but it has a dip or two in clarity).

Dull Knives (Cut better) - The Warning's songwriting chef d'oeuvre. The title immediately piques interest. How can a blunt knife cut better? As soon as the 1st verse kicks in, it dawns upon us that this is a song about self harm, as the Queen contemplates suicide after her vain attempt in love that went unrequited. Of course, she wants it to be a messy affair. What else is better than a knife with dull edges? And then a 15 year old Pau, conjures this masterpiece of a metaphorical verse "Needles piercing through my brain Slowly inflicting the pain I'm plucking roses but keeping the thorns!" Numerous poets in literature have cautioned us about the dangers of thorns in a bush of roses. But seldom has a poet preferred to keep the thorns as a prickly reminder of her misery, as she descends into a maniacal pit of dark desperation. To drive home her lunatic despair, Pau goes into a machine gun like double bass drumming at 6:40 of the original clip, in a final frenzy with Dany & Ale. Dull knives do cut better indeed with The Warning in Queen of the Murder Scene. To this day this concept album remains their magnum opus in songwriting. And it was their 2nd LP!!!
I'm glad I'm a music first lyrics last kind of listener... Maybe it's from an age of growing up listening to music when we didn't have access to the lyrics unless you had the album sitting in front of you... Hopefully it won't be as distracting for you in future videos reading the lyrics.
Initially, I didn't want to spoil "Dust to Dust" for you, but when Ale's bass kicked in, I was thinking of that scene in "From Dusk till Dawn": "...c'mon you pussy lovers - we have white pussy, black pussy, yellow pussy, we have wet pussy"...and so on))) I was imagining that seen over Ale's bass))) Other than that - given my rudimental knowledge of music, I think Ale is the best musician of them all. We know - the bass is the foundation of any band, and for a 3-piece, she covers a lot of mileage, Ale goes places where bassists don't usually go, and she fills the space with sound. No offense to Pau or Dani)))) I did tell you that Pau's vocals are mesmerizing, didn't I))))
Ale is often underrated in her skills and ability. She has perfect metronome timing and perfect pitch. The other sisters have expressed envy of her perfect pitch. As a musician, that is one amazing tool to have in your toolbox.

@@thevikingbuddha These 2 songs were amazing but the song Evolve will be an eye opener and the video of the Foo Fighters The Pretender cover when they were children will boggle your mind. They don’t have a song or performance that’s not amazing.
awesome reaction again!, yea Dust to Dust is before chapter 1 and Dull Knives is from the 3rd chapter (past midway)
Ah, I see. Thanks very much.
Three very young ladies wrote D2D/DK. Just mindblowing still.
Great synopsis, I'm excited to hear it.
@@thevikingbuddha I can't take the credit as it is lifted from a document created by TimberWolf7.62
QOTMS is Brodway ready 😀. The baseline writen by 12YO Ale.
That's mental.
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it.
Thanks for getting to these songs quickly.
You're welcome.
The Spanish language part of D2D is a spoken word part, a "preachers sermon", typically played as a backing track originally recorded by their manager, Rudy. The song plays perfectly as the prologue to a story of obsession, murder, madness... QOTMS 🤘⚡️⚠️
Can't wait to hear the album.
🔥🔥🔥 🔥reaction man ROCK ON THE WARNING 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thank you.
Thanks.
Another plus for watching the entire concert, you’ll know all the crowd participation parts!⚡️🤘
Yeah
Not just that it should be IN a movie…. Queen of the Murder Scene is (or I should say, needs to be) A movie… or broadway… or graphic novel (black & white & “crimson” all over😉)… or all of the above.
Absolutely
Damn straight if should!!!
As much as people go on about “23,” “Narcisista,” etc., I really think “Dust to Dust” is the best showcase of Pau’s talent. Seeing her drum while she full-on belts the chorus - especially the last time with all that build - is just unreal.
Yeah, she's incredible.
New here but definitely enjoyed and joined!! Cheers 🤘😝🤘
@@TheStefan6969 Thanks Stefan.
Love love love your reactions!!! 🤩🤩 can’t wait to see the next one!! 🙌🙌🤧🥲
Thank you so much. Are you suggesting I'll need some tissues?
@ yes, both “Black holes” and “Breathe” are emotional songs 🥹
Another great reaction... Keep up the good work young fella! 😊
Thanks very much.
I really can't wait for Lunario. You really shouldn't miss Dull Knives live from the Warning cave for detour (it was an online concert during COVID lockdown). It really is required viewing for TWA conscripts such as yourself!
Thanks.
I just watched all your reactions for the warning, subscribed.. and waiting for the next ones
@@DavidFloPe Thanks very much.
Thank you for the suggestion. I'll have a think about it.
Make it a 3fer. You'll see their origins, the OMV for the Metallica tribute album, and the special addition just for the 10th anniversary of the band. Technically, there's a 4th version of Enter Sandman which they toured live with. You can see that in the Teatro Metropolitan concert.
Dany 23 Pau 21 and Ale 18 for this concert.
Fantastic double feature ! The extended outro on D2D is epic ! Ale & Dany just posing and rocking out for the crowd. Nice reaction ! 🤟🏼🎸🥁🎸🤟🏼
Yeah, love that. Thanks Phil.
here we are!
Welcome.
Yes; it's sometimes hard to understand their lyrics blind... and then you read them, and when you listen again you wonder how you ever heard anything else. 😉
Dany has always "acted out" the parts in the QOTMS songs. She seems to delight in it, actually.
Isn't it weird? Seems so obvious after you've read them.
@@thevikingbuddha It is indeed an odd phenomenon, seems to be related to how the brain processes music. It's hardly the first band I've listened to where this happens, too - so it's fairly common, at least to me.
@MrJest2 Yeah, me too.
This is the girls at the height of their song writing prowess.
Dani face, goes with the Dani Kick. Love the Dani Kick.
And Dust to Dust opens, Dull Knives comes when the knives come out.
My favourite song on the album, Sinister Smiles, did not make the concert for mysterious reasons. I keep saying Ale wanted to change her singing role and did not want to sing it anymore.
lol... I always love the "Dany kick" too... she kicks out that left leg like Nancy Wilson from Heart. :-) Always tickles me when she does it.
Ale comes in a pint. 🍺
Ah-lay plays the bass. 🤘😂
Hope that helps.
😂
Two hits from their 2018 concept album, Queen of the Murder Scene. Written and recorded when they were still 18, 16, and 13 give or take. 😎
Another fun piece of trivia about Queen of the Murder Scene is that it was recorded on tape. Analog... old-school.
@KabukiKid Nice! Reminds me of the little souvenir piece of tape Foo Fighters included with the Wasting Light CD. 🤘
These ladies are awesome making a good music
Cool, thanks. I'll switch on the subtitles.
@@thevikingbuddhait’s not necessary because you’re doing the whole concert video 😉
@@RosAsol2028 Ah, ok, they come automatically on this then. That's good.
This concert celebrates their 10th year anniversary. Not their 4th.
Great and well done reaction my friend. Two great songs, albeit a little dark. Keep Rockin' my friend 🤘⚡🤘
Thanks
Yeah 👍👍❤ The warning ❤
👍👍 !!! ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Thanks very much Peter, I can't wait either.
Queen of the Murder Scene is a Shakespearean tragedy with a dose of Poe thrown in. It is an all time great work of art.
A metaphorical masterpiece from Pau that rivals Roger Waters with its darkness.
I'm excited to see the rest of the concert.
@@thevikingbuddhaThere is no other band in the world like them, they are child prodigies and write lyrics and songs that are ahead of their time. Their longtime manager Rudy cried the first time he heard them and called them a miracle.
@scottborenstein8291 They are a miracle.
I'm a little jelous that you got to go on the journey with them as they were releasing their music.
Good catch on the "crescendo" comment. Yes it does fit very well musically with the story progression on the album. You'll see!
Thanks
The girls are gonna be on the main stage at Hellfest this year. It's happening!!!
Awesome!
But they deserve to be higher on the play order than what they got.
@@arw_673 They'll get there.
Ale wrote the intro base line when she was between 11 and 13 yeaars old( dust to dust). The girls tried everything to make Dull knives longer but then they said don't fix what isn't broke. If you want it to be longer watch or listen again.
@@christinaalgate4899 Yeah, a couple of others have mentioned that, so young.
When you start to do the whole _Queen of the Murder Scene_ album, I have a document on Google Docs that give all of the song meanings, since they aren't always apparent on first listen, and/or without listening to their vlogs and chats. Just google queen of the murder scene meaning and the first hit should be my document.
Awesome, thanks.
D2D is the funeral and reincarnation of the Queen, she announces her reemergence in the 1 st song, crimson queen.
TWA historians will be along to fill in the meaning and placement of these songs (they don't follow each other). but I just wanted to say thanks for continuing the journey, ........You will be enriching your life by it!

Thank you for sharing, it's much appreciated.
Yeah, Pau is awesome.

@@thevikingbuddha You are Welcome, I'm happy that you get to know them a little more, happy 2025, take care.
And then a 15 year old Pau, conjures this masterpiece of a metaphorical verse
"Needles piercing through my brain
Slowly inflicting the pain
I'm plucking roses but keeping the thorns!"
Numerous poets in literature have cautioned us about the dangers of thorns in a bush of roses.
Thank you. I am very much looking forward to listening to the album.
Is their a perfect time to pause a The Warning song ?? . . 😂
👍👋NZ🇳🇿🍻twa
Haha, absolutely not.
I'm glad I'm a music first lyrics last kind of listener... Maybe it's from an age of growing up listening to music when we didn't have access to the lyrics unless you had the album sitting in front of you... Hopefully it won't be as distracting for you in future videos reading the lyrics.
Thanks
No offense to Pau or Dani)))) I did tell you that Pau's vocals are mesmerizing, didn't I))))
You did and they are. I love from Dusk till Dawn, what a film!!!
Ale is often underrated in her skills and ability. She has perfect metronome timing and perfect pitch. The other sisters have expressed envy of her perfect pitch. As a musician, that is one amazing tool to have in your toolbox.
Bye Pause queen
