In month 2 of accutane, literally so hard to get to classes sometimes because my skin is worse than when I started.
Literally so depressing when people are like "why is your face so red?"
I used to be very social. Now I dont talk to anyone.
Im just accepting this for now.
    Thanks for the encouragment :)

I’m on a higher dose as well and my skin has cleared up significantly but still getting tiny breakouts into month 5 which is SO disheartening, so it’s reassuring to see that some people do take a little bit longer than the standard 4-6 months to get completely clear ❤.

I was on accutane in high school! it really did change my life, though the side effects during were horrible! (my skin was sooo red/dry--I don't think I was as on top of moisturizing as you were.) I still get the occasional hormonal break-out or two, but it's sooo much less than my teen days. I've been living with my acne scars for years but I'm thinking of trying some retinol product for em soon! (esp. as I'm super close to 30 lol.) I loved hearing your journey!

Hey girl, I am just about to start and honestly am so anxious about starting to feel side effects and just taking that first pill will be mentally tough. (I’m a nurse and tend to think the worst things will happen to me)… anyways… was wondering if your stomach problems resolved after you finished the course?

does the lower the dose mean the longer it takes ? i wanna clear up fast but i dont think my skin is severe enough to go up to 50 or 60. im on 20 rn even tho i was given 10mg cause i dont believe 10 mg is enough for me and this is from a doctor not a dermo

So you had a failed accutane course, your skin wasn’t that dry and you finished early.. got it ✅
You’ll have breakouts very soon and have to go on it again. Clear skin or not, you didn’t complete the course so in your medical records it’ll be recorded as a failed course. If your skin wasn’t that dry, it wasn’t absorbing it’s that simple. You can think you’re a medical marvel and special I guess, but that’s the reality.
Good luck on round 3 x
