    Good job with the the early arrival. I like their use of a battery powered Sawzall to get the hood open.

    Thank goodness L7 showed up with a saw. It should be obvious by now that banging and prying on a hood latch does not work. 15 seconds with a saw works every time - either a V cut on the hood or cutting the latch as they did.

    • @SkylerFire
      @SkylerFire  6 дней назад +2

      Yeah they had to wait for the truck. They were just trying to do what they can. Engines don’t carry saws

    Though it is true that most car fires can be put out with a booster, or high pressure line, most large departments, don't like it. When the vast majority of fires need 1 /3 quarters. why use anything else.

    • @SkylerFire
      @SkylerFire  6 дней назад +4

      Depending if the car didn’t leak fuel and nothing is fueling the fire you can probably knock a car fire with the booster

    It's incomprehensible to me how they can go to car fires without using their SCBA. Mourning the fallen heroes get's a very negative connotation if the department is not acting to counter completely avoidable health issues and deaths of members.

    We need to be better at masking up those SCBA…..this is a perfect example..a going car fire which lets off toxic smoke from metals paints batteries etc , if you aren’t going to don them guys, stay on the rig. We need to be better, bottom line.

    Why don’t US fire trucks have a simple high pressure hose reel? They are used all over the world and save you dragging a tonne of house for a small job.

    • @SkylerFire
      @SkylerFire  6 дней назад +3

      Because they don’t… I believe it so companies don’t take the booster lines into Fire buildings

      Small water extinguishes only small fires. Big water kills Big fires and also small fires.

      2 members were killed while using booster reels.

      Stretching hose allows the fire to get bigger so it's more fun for the firefighters.
